As "MANY" other customers have shared their experiences, I felt the need to write this review NOT…read moreONLY for potential customers like me, but for the Lady that owns the shop as well as the employees.
What can I say, I'm extremely frustrated today & have spend way too much of my valuable time dealing with MID-STATE MOTORSPORTS, (we can't buy more time here on earth, so we need to chose how & where we spend what we have left).
Anyway, from day one I had a poor experience trying to give them my business & $$$. I stood in line at the parts dept with an employee who continued to look at me but never bothered to say, "Someone will be with you shortly" or anything for that matter. I was just ignored while he sat at the counter looking at a computer screen and me while another employee helped another customer. I started to walk out after about 5 minutes of waiting but was asked on my way out if everything was good. I explained no, I wanted to buy a tire & have them install it, but was ignored by one of the employees. The guy quickly said, well let me help you. So we went to the service dept to handle the purchase & scheduling of the tire. I believe the guys name was Garret & everything was good. I also scheduled the install approx 5 days later as they had to order the tire (no stock).
Yesterday I went in to see if the tire arrived, which I also wanted to confirm our install date as we kicked around Tuesday (today) and Wednesday. As I approached the counter I saw a lady who was talking w/an employee and it sounded like there was an issue w/ his benefits or maybe his vacation time. This is what I heard her say in front of all of us, "You don't get anything until AFTER working here a year. She then said, "if you don't understand, I can write it out for you." More on this below for both the employees & owner. How about giving them a handbook of your rules and benefits when they're hired?
Anyway, I was told they were a bit behind and that they weren't sure when they could do it, no big deal I wasn't in a hurry and shared that.
The worst part was that I was now told I had to bring in the tire (off the bike). I was like your kidding right? No, because your bike is older than 10 yrs we can't touch it. Keep in mind, the bike is in showroom condition with only 4000 miles on it which I shared and even showed a picture of it. I had mentioned that this was NEVER discussed when we scheduled the work which they knew both the "year", make & model of my bike. I then said, well just refund my purchase of the tire & they said ok. I then asked where their nearest competitor is? I was handed off to one of the parts guys who handled the return. Unfortunately, I was not given a refund but charged again! Today, Tuesday I received a call from Garret? who was very professional and mentioned he noticed I was actually charged again vs giving me a refund. I had to revisit the Mid State Motorsports in order to get my REFUND of $823 for the tire which I knowing paid a huge premium for but was OK with it. Garrett was very apologetic when I went back in & I understand Sh@it happens! So that wasn't a big deal for me just one more inconvenience. I chose this place as they are an authorized YAMAHA Dealer and they are close to where I live, but I just couldn't get them to service me and take my $$$, lol hello? TODAY I WAS ABLE TO BUY BOTH FRONT & REAR TIRES DELIVERED TO MY DOOR 4 LESS THEN WHAT I PAID MID-STATE MOTORSPORTS FOR JUST THE REAR (see pics).
So here I am delayed weeks w/the install & numerous hours wasted trying to be a great new customer. But like others mentioned here in the reviews, it's kind of hard to be a customer at MID-STATE MOTORSPORTS.
NOW BACK TO THE EMPLOYEES AND BIG BOSS LADY!
GUYS, know your worth! If MID-STATE MOTORSPORTS don't value or take care of their employees, your just in the wrong place!
Go where someone respects & honors you as an employee. Please take the time to read the picture I have attached. KNOW YOUR WORTH!
BIG BOSS LADY, both Garrett and Ferguson are great! I enjoyed my time w/both these guys who were eager to help w/every encounter I had with them. Hell, I might try & steal them from you, when I get my business off the ground as they are both great with people.
I wanted you to know, I shared something w/them that I shared with my 3 young kids many yrs ago when started an online business.
"There is only one boss, and that's the CUSTOMER! And they can fire everyone from the janitor all the way up to CEO/owner, simply by spending their money elsewhere." I also shared, that it's not Mid-State that pays their wages, it's the customer. Mid State just manages the $. No customer, no business!
I left looking for a place to install my tires & I'm glad I did.
J&J CYCLES is a Mom & Pop Shop that I was referred to by Randy at HD. J&J is going to install for less as well and I'm happy to give them the biz!
So today was win/win for me and J&J Cycles!
