Lina, the hygienist, is especially amazing. She's SUPER friendly and pleasant to work with. She was very attentive to my comfort throughout the cleaning process. Before starting, she asked if I had any sensitivities so she could be more careful around them. She explained everything she was doing as she worked. An outstanding experience on every level. Lina makes you want to come back for a cleaning sooner than six months. Dr. Sabolboro, the dentist, is also great. He was able to remove a lower-wisdom tooth that was causing me tremendous grief when other dentists said they couldn't because that was considered oral surgery and they weren't licensed to perform it. Dr. Sabolboro removed the troublesome tooth quickly and painlessly. The relief was truly life-changing and I'll always be grateful. I can't recommend FPD highly enough.

He did an implant which seemed fine until the crown kept falling off. I don't think it stayed on for more than a couple days. After going in several times to have it tightened, he said that he thought the implant wasn't sitting at the correct angle inside my gums. He said he could try to do it again but a bridge would be a better option as it would be faster and because I'd probably have the same issue with another implant. He also said he'd have to file down a perfectly fine tooth in order to have a bridge. In hindsight I should have gotten a second opinion but I had no reason not to trust him at this point. He offered to do it right away because it would only take 15 minutes. I told him I had to pick my kids up and he reassured me that it would be fast. It took HOURS. Luckily my husband was able to pick up my kids. I normally don't have issues with dental work but this experience changed that. He clearly did not know what he was doing. Finally he got the implant out. I went back for the bridge and that came out after a day. Went back several times to have the bridge put back in. In the meantime another crown he did kept falling off. He told me that he thought the issue was that I have too much saliva which I didn't buy bc I would assume that another dentist would have said something to me about that by this point in my life. I went to another dentist who confirmed that I did not have too much saliva. The other dentist also said that she saw no reason that the implant should have come out. No reason to destroy a healthy tooth for a bridge. Also a bridge is more expensive to replace than just one crown. I stayed with the new dentist who kept having to tighten my crown and re-cemented my bridge until it broke. After it broke, I reached out to Sabolboro and asked for my money back which he did not do. He did offer to re-do the work but I did not feel comfortable having him do that. Unfortunately, my insurance only covers bridges and crowns every 5 years so I've gone without because I'd rather do that, then have Dr. Sabolboro do anything to my teeth.

I don't normally leave negative reviews usually, if I have a bad experience, I just move on and…read moredon't return. But in this case, I feel it's important to share what happened so others can make an informed decision. I visited this dental office due to discomfort in one of my teeth and was told I needed a root canal because of an infection. I mentioned that I was leaving for vacation in a week and asked if it could wait until I returned. The dentist strongly advised that I get it done immediately due to the infection risk, so I agreed. I had the root canal two days before my trip. While on vacation in another state, I started experiencing severe pain. I ended up having to see an endodontist, paying $600 out of pocket. They confirmed I had a large abscess and were surprised I had not been prescribed antibiotics especially given I had an active infection going into the procedure. Right after my root canal, while checking out, I specifically asked the front desk if I needed a prescription for antibiotics. The receptionist told me no. I trusted her answer, even though I thought antibiotics were usually part of the protocol. While still on vacation, I called the dental office to explain the situation and asked if there was any possibility of compensation, since I had to seek emergency care due to what I believe was a preventable issue. I was told someone would get back to me after speaking with the manager. Three days passed with no response. I followed up and was told the owner was out of the country and would contact me the following week. A week passed no call. I followed up again and was told they were still waiting to hear back from the owner. Eventually, I got a text message stating that symptoms after a root canal are normal with or without antibiotics, and that no refund or credit would be provided. I called back to clarify that I had a known infection before root canal, and the development of an abscess afterward is not normal in that situation. I also reiterated that I had asked the receptionist about antibiotics, and while I understand it's not her role to prescribe medication, she should have confirmed with the dentist before confidently telling me I didn't need any. Worst of all, despite multiple follow-ups, I never heard directly from the manager or owner, even though I was told I would. Instead, I received a dismissive message and no accountability. I had originally planned to return to this office for a crown, but after the poor communication, lack of follow-through, and unprofessionalism I experienced, I won't be going back.

I went for an emergency root canal, and although the root canal was not covered under my insurance they explained thoroughly every possibility that I could take, with nothing left unexplained, everything on the table and communicated properly. The dentist himself Dr Dennis was extremely kind and understanding of my situation, and even found out that another tooth that a different place told me was also a root canal was actually just a filling that fell out! This place is great, very comforting and clean environment with real people willing to help and talk to. Coming from a real person who's dealt with constant disregard by others towards my emergency situation, these people have made me very hopeful and were the most helpful people I have seen in regards to my teeth!! Highly recommend

***EDIT FOR MAY 1, 2026*** - Two weeks ago I was called by someone at the front desk and told there…read moreis an available appointment for Saturday, May 2 at 2:00 pm with the dentist who has been doing the work on my tooth. Today I was told it's uncertain who called me, but there's availability at 9 am on May 2, 2026. I was also told that this review has been seen and it's not thought to be discrimination. I'd like to make it clear there's many types of discrimination in the medical field; systemic or interpersonal. In my case, it's interpersonal. This review will not be removed until the situation is corrected. A partial definition of interpersonal discrimination is unfair treatment, disrespect, micro aggressions, macro aggressions, poor communication, biases, and differential treatment between the patient and healthcare providers or staff. In this case, it's between a patient and staff. In the summer of 2025, I completed the first visit. The apron/vest (I'm not sure of the correct term), was not placed on me during x-rays until I requested it. This was on a Saturday. The woman who completed the x-rays seemed to be more distracted by something else at the moment. After scheduling a follow up appointment, I asked does this office accept pediatric patients? My daughter was three years old at the time. I was told yes but since He is so young, there's not much to do except to brush His teeth (he's a she but ok; I took her elsewhere) The practice engages in discrimination; be careful if you're a person of color. The dentists and dentist assistants are not discriminatory, they're wonderful. But the receptionists are discriminatory and lie a lot. Because of the treatment, I'll finish my root canal treatment and look for a dentist elsewhere. Last year, I came for a second opinion on a root canal. It was scheduled. They never told me the insurance denied it. The insurance did. This year I decided to go back. It's close to my home and business. A fear of dentists kept me away. They scheduled the appointment. I gave them an updated insurance card. They pretended to place it in my file. I called weekly to ask if it Emblem Health approved it because the insurance said they didn't receive it. Weekly responses from the receptionists were, not yet or let me ask the billing department. I had to go in person after calling six weeks straight for them to submit it to Health First. Even then, I had to show up in person while placed on hold; that's when I was partially assisted. The day of the root canal (March 12), I was told that there wasn't an Emblem Health Insurance Card on file. After weeks of me calling and one visit, I was told that. Why is it discrimination? After research and an investigation of my own with the assistance of an outside agency, I have found that this treatment is most common towards blacks/African Americans from this practice; specifically the receptionists (as stated before, the dentists and dental assistants have not treated others this way). I paid $515 out of pocket because the root canal was needed. I have not received a refund. If I didn't have the money, my health would have become worse. I was then told my next appointment is April 17. I received a call on the 26th of March saying my appointment is March 27 at 10am and I was mistaken. Gaslighting? Misinformation? I'll attach the card. The dentist also told the receptionist to schedule an appointment for the weekend of April 4, 2026. She said there's a waiting list. And left it at that. I'll keep calling and visiting in person until I get the appointment for the crown.
