There are a number of aspects to consider-- full sun, or in shade; native to midwest or not; aggressive vines (that might hurt other plants) versus vines that might be compatible with the flowers I wanted. Barb had so many good suggestions, and also gave me information on each plant regarding structure (vertical and horizontal), practicality, and how parts of the gardens would grow over time (maintenance and longevity).
