A really fun Hibachi place in Epcot! Came here with a party of 4. They were very organized and quick to seat us down. After getting our order in, drinks were first served out, then the chef came out. The Hibachi chef was very funny and entertaining. The servers were very friendly. They even gave my friend a small gift after hearing that she graduated recently. Very worth it. Love this spot. We eat here with our 4 kids and they love it. We eat here without our kids as well. The quality of food is outstanding and the service is just great. We order the miso soup, julienne steak, filet mignon, salmon, volcano roll and spicy roll. All of it is delicious. The mo mo whisky sour is one of our favorite drinks at Disney. It can be very busy and loud, but it is worth it and such a fun spot for friends and/or families to enjoy a fun meal together. read more

It can be a challenge to secure a reservation for Teppan Edo in the Japan pavilion at Epcot. You have to keep checking the Disney website or app every day. Reservations open up 60 days prior and they tend to sell out immediately. (Although I don't feel they release a lot of seats for the reservations.) A few days before our visit to Epcot, I was finally able to get a reservation as people begin to cancel and rearrange their vacation schedules. I hadn't eaten at Teppan Edo in about 25 years. We were seated with two other groups of people at the 8-top table surrounding the grill. We were seated in the middle; one party was social with us, the others kept to themselves. Our server came by and was super friendly and informative. She explained everything, took our orders, immediately brought our drinks, and continued to bring refills (iced tea) as needed. She was super efficient and wonderful throughout the entire meal. After the drinks, she brought out one of my favorite things -- salad with ginger dressing. I've yet to find a comparable ginger dressing in the grocery stores that can match the dressing served in the Japan pavilion at Epcot. Our chef was wonderful, too. As entertaining as you would hope he would be. He made jokes and put on a good show as he cooked our meals right in front of us. The food seems so simple (rice, noodles, veggies, and meats), but the flavors coming right off the grill are amazing. Although the pricing is a bit high (almost twice as much for the same meal off Disney property), you do get a LOT of food. And it's not one of the growing number of places where you have to order off a prix fixe menu for $69 or $89. Naturally, to get my money's worth and because I was super hungry, I ate it ALL. We always want to try different restaurants while touring the World at Epcot but we typically land here and it has always been a solid meal. I wish they would do fried rice but the udon noodles are different and yummy. They do rush you through the meal and seat you at a table of 8 so you will likely be dining with strangers. Incredibly friendly and accommodating service every time we visit. For the minute you walk in to the minute, you're sit seated at your table, they pay attention to the details and the customer. The restaurant is very typical above average Teppanyaki Grill and I love the chicken and steak combination. As an appetizer, consider ordering some sushi, which is above average and reasonably priced. If you've ever been to Benihana, you're looking at a very similar experience at this location I'll be at not quite as flashy or shower. There's less emphasis on performance, and more emphasis on efficiency, and providing the customer with good quality food. Your standard entrée also includes a soup and salad, and I can honestly say that not only or my wife, and I very satisfied with the entire meal we came away quite full. I would rank this option among the top five dining experiences in any of the Disney parks. Highly recommend. read more

In Japanese, the word teppanyaki stems from teppan (鉄板), which is the metal plate or flat iron griddle on which the food is cooked, and yaki (焼き) translates as grilled or pan-fried. Teppan Edo has wonderful food and the entertainment and culinary skills of the chefs is always way above the norm. They also have sushi and sashimi for appetizers, or you could make a meal out of them. If you want an excellent volcano roll, this is the place. Everything here is seasoned and prepared to perfection, and cleanliness is never a worry at a Disney restaurant. Lastly, they have some of the best soda water in all of Disney World. I know that must sound kind of strange, but when you've been walking in the blast furnace heat of Florida, this spot is a refuge from the heat, and an oasis for your hunger and thirst. read more

We booked this restaurant for our kids to have some entertainment dining experience. Our boys are 2 and 4 years old. We snagged a lunch reservation and was seating with 2 other parties. We were provided wet naps to clean our hands with prior to the dining experience. We ordered 2 adult entrees and 1 kid menu item. We also ordered some edemame and spicy calamari on top of our entree. My husband ordered steak and shrimp while I got the shrimp and chicken. We got the chicken entree for my 4 year old, while the 2 yr old was sharing our dishes. It was a great decision as it was plenty of food! I don't like carrying leftovers around the park so our meal order was perfect. The entree comes with both white rice and sautéed noodles. [BTW, there is NO fried rice, only white]. We were surprised how good the food actually was! Flavorful and nicely seasoned. I would absolutely return for the food. Now for the entertainment, it wasn't anything crazy amazing but the kids enjoyed the theatrics. The chef made mickey silhouettes with the noodle and veggies. Got some mickey ears with the onions. Made the onions steam like a volcano and chug like a train. Ended the onion show with a tornado. The chef made some tricks by throwing lemon around to land on his fork. Made some veggies dissappear in his hay. Overall the kids enjoyed it. May not be "thrilling" for the adult but the food was good. read more

Best tip I can give here is ask for Maiko! She was so good. I have done a lot of hibachi style meals and by far she was the best. She sang Disney songs that tied into what she was cooking. Under the sea while the shrimp n scallops cooked is an idea of what she did. So as for the rest, the prices are high but this is Disney. The rooms are a little warm and small but it makes for a nice atmosphere if you like to meet people. Maiko cooked all of the food perfectly with some great flavors. Can't think of anything unique about the food other than the atmosphere though. Definitely worth a dine at least once here. read more

Decided to give this place another shot from my first visit a few years ago. Ken was our cook and while he was friendly, he wasn't that skilled at hibachi. Just like the last time, he failed almost every trick attempted. The food was pretty bland and lacking compared to other local hibachi restaurants at half the price. You only get a small bowl of steamed rice, no hibachi style fried rice. You don't get noodles and vegetables as the menu implies and other hibachi restaurants do, you get noodles mixed with spinach, zucchini, carrots and onion with a bit of soy sauce. Steak was way overcooked and flavorless other than the soy sauce. Shrimp was very tiny and cut into smaller pieces to seem like you actually got an appropriate count but was actually about 3-4 cut in multiple pieces. Restaurant is very loud and can barely hear the servers. I was thinking at first maybe I was too harsh judging on a single visit but this one was just as bad if not worse! Save your money and go to Shogun, Kobe, or any other Hibachi style restaurant and get a much nicer meal and show. read more

Tasty food, but expensive Japanese hibachi. It was my daughter's 21st birthday and she wanted hibachi. We were in the middle of drinking around the world, and this was the perfect place to stop for dinner. We had a very friendly older gentleman who claimed he had worked there since 1987. He didn't perform a ton of tricks, but flipped shrimp tails into his chef's hat and built an extremely high tower out of onions. I had the Hotate (scallops). Awesome. We also enjoyed the Japanese noodles and my family liked the beef, chicken and shrimp. This place does get busy but it is worth a stop if you want a good and entertaining meal in Epcot. Expect to spend a little more than normal. Next time I would like to see a few more tricks, but the covid season might have something to do with that. read more

We showed up about 15 minutes early for our 1:30 reservation and were actually seated around 1:25. All of the staff we dealt with was very polite and hospitable. They brought out a refill on my iced green tea (which was clearly high quality and brewed properly) before I was even close to finishing the first glass. Our chef was very entertaining in an endearing way. The show itself wasn't super long but the "tricks" he did were a little different from the usual - he made a Mickey face out of onions with the nose as the volcano and let us try to guess what he was making while he cut and sorted the onion pieces. The food was delicious and filling. To start, the dressing on the starter salad was amazing. I had the Yasai (vegetables and tofu) entrée, which came with the standard vegetable and noodle fry plus red bell peppers, shiitake, asparagus, and tofu. The asparagus and tofu were my favourites, but all were really good on their own or dipped in one of the two side sauces. I also tried one of the scallops, and it had a great flavour and silky texture. Even the steamed rice was perfect. I had the Matcha Tiramisu for dessert and had a taste of the Chocolate Ginger Cake. The tiramisu was not quite what I was expecting - the Japanese style meant a thick matcha mousse topped with a piece of baumkuchen instead of layers, but I really liked it! It looked small but the box was actually deceptively large. The matcha flavour was nice and strong and I liked the light but rich in flavour cake. Chocolate ginger cake was great too - the chocolate ganache on top was very rich and the cake was also of very high quality. This always remains a favourite place to visit in Epcot for me. Each time the experience with the chef is a little bit different, but always lots of fun, and the food never fails to satisfy. read more

My husband and I absolutely loved our proteins here. As they should be, they were the highlight of the meal. I ordered the hotate, which is one of my all-time favorite seafood dishes. Having lived in northern Japan, I'm always on the lookout for scallops that compare to those abroad. Besides Teppan Edo, I've routinely been disappointed. My delight when the chef served me my golden hotate was effusive. They were nearly perfect. Maybe ten seconds away from perfection. Regardless, they were buttery and soft, and I wouldn't hesitate to order them again. A small ding is that I did get a bit of graininess from some of them. A huge bonus is that there were 9 plump scallops in the serving size. I had expected 6 and was exceedingly happy when the chef gave me 9. This is an excellent value. My husband ordered the salmon, which was the first protein to hit the teppan. That thing was cooked to perfection! It was absolutely golden and melted in the mouth. He said he'd never had a better piece of salmon. The biggest downside to the restaurant is just how insanely loud it is, even with partial walls separating the dining areas. You are really at the mercy of others' politeness. Our experience was definitely dimmed by a whole table of bachelorette party-goers screaming... SCREAMING... throughout their meal. Japanese culture is not very confrontational, but as it's Disney, it would be nice if the managers handled way-above-average (and acceptable) noise disturbances more effectively. The environment itself, with metal clashing and people talking, is loud but understandable. There's no need for people to act like safari animals in a restaurant. I had to ask our waitress to repeat herself nearly every time she spoke to me, with both of us leaning as far forward over the teppan as possible to hear each other. Just silly. Anyway, I'd say the side dishes and accompaniments were adequate; tasty but unremarkable with below average portion sizes. The proteins are what really shine here. If you're a seafood lover, definitely try the salmon or the hotate. Absolutely do not expect to have a quiet, romantic dinner here. One of my FAVE spots at Epcot! If you see a reservation open up for this hibachi experience in Japan, snag it immediately. Teppan Edo is at a communal family table as most hibachi restaurants are, but Disney has added separators to keep you from different parties. There is also added space in between, and both the chef and servers are all wearing masks. This food is super filling and delicious, and reasonably priced for a Disney restaurant. Each meal comes with a seaweed salad (which i hated, it was only cucumber and seaweed - two things I don't like), plus noodles and veggies, white rice, and the meat of your choice. We got the miso soup and it also had really nice flavor. The scallops were def the star of the show though and literally melted in your mouth. They were AMAZING. Our chef was also super great and interactive and made the experience much more enjoyable and entertaining. Simply the best. I always think that there is no way this place can meet my expectations, but every single time, I am blown away. This is a Hibachi type restaurant that serves some of the sushi from next door. They actually have reopened during COVID in a relatively safe way (you mostly get the table to yourself). I also like their tables a little bit better as they are slightly safer for kids. Between all of us, we tried nearly everything and it was outstanding. I am a big fan of the steak and shrimp. The portions are also pretty good! We also got the Volcano Roll which was grilled right on the grill top and covered with a spicy mayo like sauce. It was a fantastic appetizer. The service here is also extremely good. While the place is a little on the expensive side, the service is some of the best in all of Walt Disney World and they make every single person, child or adult, feel like a VIP. This is the real deal and I would highly recommend this place to anyone! read more

Like every hibachi restaurant out there get ready for a show while preparing your food. This is my children's favorite restaurant in all of Disney world properties. The well prepared food and fun to watch. It is an emersive experience that stays with you in memory for awhile. Lunch didn't take too long, which was great so we could get back to enjoying the park. The service here is always fantastic. My 3 year old enjoyed some of the food served, but also snacked on a sandwich I packed. No one minded at all. The food was very good. It was so nice to enjoy a teppan table experience for the first time in a year because of the pandemic. They kept it safe by separating families at the table with a partition. This was one of our best meals during our Disney vacation. I was surprised it only required one dining plan table service meal allocation, and it's a great use of the dining plan! Make a reservation. It's almost impossible to do a walk in at any Disney restaurant. The check in is located downstairs at a small counter. Inside you'll find a classy Asian decor and numerous half circle tables around the teppanyaki grills. There are tons of meat choices. We opted for a selection of steak, shrimp, and chicken. In typical style the chef will put on a show of juggling knives, etc while cooking the meats and vegetables. Everything was excellent. Tender and juicy meat with an entertaining presentation. Dessert comes with your dining plan. These were also good, and not overly sweet. This was truly one of our best Disney dining experiences! read more

Oishii!!!! Tasty!!!! Teppan Edo is a teppanyaki style restaurant at the Japan Pavilion. The check in for this restaurant is the same desk for Tokyo dining once you climb up the exterior stairs. We arrived 20 minutes early for our reservation and were seated anyway. Be aware that unless you are a group of 8 you will be seated with other people. On this occasion we sat with a group of 6 and it turned out great! A server takes your order and brings out your drinks, and then your teppanyaki chef makes your main entrees and noodles/vegetables. Our chef, Akira, was very personable and entertaining. This meal was like having dinner with a show. He did juggling tricks and made a volcano with the onions. We saw at the other tables that the other chefs did the same kind of show, nevertheless it was still a fun meal. We sampled the tempura and wafu ribs appetizers. The tempura was delicious and a great start to our meal. The wafu ribs didn't look appetizing but they were actually fall off the bone tender and tasty! For our entrees my boyfriend ordered the steak and shrimp and I ordered the hotate (scallops). Along with your main entree you also receive a salad, a side of white rice and noodles with vegetables. The meal also is served with yum yum sauce and ginger sauce. The scallops were a little over cooked for my liking but the portion was generous and the flavors spot on. Overall we both enjoyed our meals and would definitely come back. Another person at our table ordered the salmon and it looked delicious! For dessert we had the green tea ice cream and mango cake. These are always cooked to perfection, whereas the chicken is a hit or miss. Each entree comes with a complimentary order of salad, udon noodles and white rice. I've had hibachi food all over Memphis and I've got to say that I was not overly impressed with the food here. I was impressed with the cleanliness, but not the food, service, or presentation. The chef made such a big show about stacking onion slices and making them smoke. Big deal. I've seen chefs put on a much better show than that. And these people are too proud to cook some rice on the grill for the little one? What the crap is that? I proceeded to tell them how to do it, and they told me they were authentic and they won't fry the rice because that's not the way they do it in Japan. I told them that people don't tip in Japan either, but of course they do want a tip, and we did tip, but this shows they are frauds and phonies. I'll tell you another thing they do in Japan. They don't serve fake wasabi that's made entirely with horseradish. That's right. Their wasabi wasn't wasabi at all. And Japan doesn't have raw salmon in their sushi. Dumbasses it's the Norwegians who eat raw salmon sushi! Not the Japanese! And why does this place put vegetable rolls on a plate that is supposed to be sashimi? They have no idea what sushi and sashimi is, yet they are too proud of their culture to fry some rice for a child when that's what she will eat. And why won't this place serve the whole sushi menu to the hibachi tables? Yes, if you order certain things from the menu, you have to sit in the other room instead of sharing company at your hibachi table. Not impressed. 3 stars because the food we received was good, but I can eat so much better than this at home, and for a more fair price. Very tasty. I came here last night for my birthday, we were looking for a restaurant in Epcot that would be fun and also not crazy expensive. We received a buzzer and were told that it would be about 10 to 15 minutes, but instead our buzzer went off a few minutes later which was nice. Our hibachi chef was extremely personable, and even made a drawing of Olaf with the oil. She made sure to ask each of the groups at the table where we were from, how our day was, what our plans were for the next day, etc. They knew it was my birthday because I had a Disney birthday pin, and they brought out a complimentary slice of mango cake along with a chef's hat for me to wear, ha. Definitely would return here the next time I'm in Epcot. Reservations are usually necessary, too, but we got one the day before - they had a 540pm and an 840pm time slot left. read more
