So... 3 yrs...over the last 5..each time was a disappointment. One the rudeness of the staff which should never be tolerated. I live a ski resort, so I know the stress, but forgetting your in a service business and everyone there is there to have a good time, not be barked at shouldn't be forgotten. Worse however, the undeniable smell of less than great fish. For the price, that stuff should have been caught that day. But each time we walk in there... smell. Being from NYC, sorry I know what excellent is, Masa, Wokuni, Noz.... Teppan ain't it... first time we stayed and ate.. mistake! What can I say--hibachi is hibachi whether you are in Missouri or BC. We had the chicken, steak and scallops--all very average. Fried rice was a $4 up charge and they didn't even cook it in front of you! Missed the throwing shrimp (must be a US thing). Prices were really high for what we got. Service was quick and kind though. They even brought out a little sweet for my kiddo's bday. Great place for big groups (had 13 people and it was so easy to make the reservation over the phone; OpenTable won't do it for that big but over the phone was easy)! So hard to find somewhere that can take large groups without requiring huge food and beverage minimums. And dinner comes with built in entertainment! Good food but don't expect anything out of the usual. But it's good teppanyaki. If you have allergies, they'll cook your food in the back separate from the grill that's in front of you. It does get smokey and there is fire so if kids are scared, maybe put them farther away. I'd totally come back with a large group. This hibachi grill is located in Whistler Village. It was literally around the corner from the hotel we were staying at. Our group was large, 10 people total. I booked a reservation through Open Table but left a comment that we were larger than the max group that you can book through the app. I got a response the next day that the reservation was modified. The experience was so entertaining. Our chef gave us a nice fire show and was kind enough to explain all the sauces and describe all of the food he was cooking up. The kids were entertained and ended up filming the excitement. Overall the food was good. I got a combo which had steak, chicken, shrimp, and scallops. For a group of 7 this was a fun place to go. This is a traditional hibachi grill! Shout out to Satoshi! So fun and entertaining! We ordered some rolls, steak, shrimp and scallops. It came with a typical set (salad, Miso soup, veggies, shrimp teaser taste and either fried rice(extra cost) or white rice. The salad dressing was amazing. Veggies were cooked well as well as the shrimp. The group felt that the meat we ordered medium rare was a lil over cooked and the fried rice was not cooked on the stove top but in the back. Loved our teppanyaki dinner experience! Located in the Whistler Village on the second floor on top of a retail plaza. Interior has 7-8 teppanyaki communal tables all set up for lunch or dinner. We reserved for a group of 7 for dinner. Hostess was friendly and service at the table was fast. Loved the Japanese style Moscow mule. Shirley Temple was perfect for the little one. We tried a number of different dinners "the village", "land" and the tuna tataki and salmon sushi roll. They have kids dinner sets available. Teppanyaki chef was entertaining with the fire and flambés remember to sit back from the grill! They gave us a mochi ice cream for dessert for the birthday celebration. The fried rice also just came out of the kitchen vs. being Cooked fresh on the hibachi which is honestly one of the best parts. All choices were delicious, especially the NY strip (that's top strip loin in Canuck). Our table chef was very friendly and kept adults and kids alike entertained. A bit oily and salty but it's a teppan grill not poke. Expect to drop $80 CAN pp with a drink. When you make a reservation expect to put a deposit down of $25 pp. Ensure you whole group is there on time for seating. It's hard to go wrong with restaurants in Whistler - provided you were thoughtful enough to book a reservation in advance. For our first night in town we booked an early dining since we were traveling from afar. The restaurant was nearly empty as they'd just opened for dinner. No strangers to teppanyaki, we were all comfortably seated and had ordered drinks and food within a few minutes. Might I recommend the purple haze? After a cold day, warm sake with a dash of chambord really hits the spot. They'll suggest keeping it on the grill to keep it warm. I'm skeptical that this had an impact ... the drink definitely cooled down after a bit. While the food here was pretty excellent all around and you're unlikely to walk away disappointed, I was surprised by a few things: 1) The rice isn't cooked on the grill. Instead, it's brought from the back. That said, it's absolutely delicious. 2) One of our guests requested no mushrooms - at other locations that meant a veg pile cooked separately, here our chef ended up picking out the cooked mushrooms after being reminded of the request as he was doling out the veggies. Felt like an oops (but a small one). 3) Our chef had a surprising number of mishaps. Maybe he was having a bad night? Obviously a zillion times more talented than any of us, but ... it was awkward. 4) When putting chicken on the grill, we were treated to a chicken dance of sorts. Felt like it would be amazing for kids, but for a group of adults ... awkward. 5) AFTER the cooking was done, there was another show with two pieces of wood that resembled salt and pepper shakers. Again, awkward. 6) So much fire! I'm used to a fire display or two, but the volume of fire was truly impressive. All in all, we definitely enjoyed dinner and everyone walked away full. That said I've definitely enjoyed teppanyaki more elsewhere. read more

We came in a group, so we were given small group menus to order from. Basically, this meant that we all got a side salad, miso soup, a bowl of rice, two grilled shrimp, sautéed vegetables, cooked bean sprouts, and then a main dish of our choosing. We got to choose from tofu and mushrooms (obviously for the vegetarians), steak, shrimp, or chicken. Being in my vegetarian phase I got to tofu, but the grilled shrimp kind of ruined it for me. Pescatarian then. I love vegetables and soft tofu, and miso soup is the broth of the gods so I had a great time eating. Our chef wasn't very skilled in that he kept showing us tricks and then failing at them, but it was cute, no problem. Watching the chefs cook in front of you is always fun, and seeing the food go directly into your plate is an A+ experience. I was given a kids menu when I sat down so I'm deducting a star partly from offense, but also the food wasn't the best I've ever had. Still good though, would recommend! My family and my bffs family (4 adults, 7 teenagers all together) came here for dinner. All the girls were super excited because they love this type of restaurant. They love the little show they put on, the yummy fresh food getting made Right in front of them. This place was a huge let down. We had a reservation for 4:30 for our party of 11. We got seated within 10 minutes. They host was super sweet. 2 of our party was stuff at the hospital with a broken arm. They were very understanding and accommodating. We had the village, the scallops, teriyaki chicken, sushi and steak. The food was mediocre at best. Adult portions were the same size as the kids menu items. A couple of the girls left still hungry. The fried rice was not prepared on the grill. They pulled it from the back and it was cold. There were no veggies or egg in it. It was basically rice and soy sauce and they up charge you for it. The price was outrageous. For what you get and not even really that good of food it's nuts what they charge. The cook hardly even spoke or interacted with any of us. The 2 stars I am giving are for the host and the waitress. They were both phenomenal!! The rest, don't waste your time or money. We won't be back. read more

The prices were reasonable being right in the village. We ordered the Village, which with chicken, scallops, prawns, steak and chicken! The steak was cooked perfectly and very tender, chicken was juicy and the scallops were plump and tasted sweet. We were just recently in Whistler to celebrate my birthday. We're huge fans of Kobe Steakhouse and wanted to give this a go. We kept an open mind when it came to the atmosphere and overall flavours. Overall the atmosphere was great, open space which didn't make you feeling like you were sitting on your neighbours lap! The staff was attentive but it felt like there were way to many staff members just standing around trying to find something to do. Our chef was fantastic and kept the kids very entertained :) The filet minion prawns and scallops were delicious; however the chicken was over cooked and flavourless and I added the extra lobster which they don't list the price of... Heads up they charged us $60 for an over cooked under seasoned lobster tail. read more

Teppan Village is located in the Hilton hotel in whistler. You can take the elevator up the the 3rd floor and it's on the right hand side as you exit the elevator. You should make a reservation as the seating is a little bit tricky. There are about 10 seats per cooking station. The seats are in a U shape around a large, flat stove top. The chef comes after the server has taken your order and cooks your food in front of you. Note that if you have any allergies let them know and they will cook your food in the back kitchen to ensure no cross contamination. The chef starts with making three different dipping sauces for your meal, explaining each ingredient as he makes it. He then will make an appetizer for the group. This consists of mixed vegetables and shrimp. Each meal also comes with a salad, rice, and miso soup. As he's cooking all the food he does a few tricks along the way and some of it includes large flames. It is a very fun experience! On the menu they also have some sushi and side dishes like tempura. The portions are large and it definitely fills you up quickly. All the food was good and nicely cooked. Would definitely recommend coming here if you are in whistler and are craving Japanese food! read more

Reservations days in advance is necessary, especially during busy holidays. Each meal comes with rice, shrimp, and veggies. You'll need to choose your meats/proteins. You can choose between steak, shrimp, scallops, chicken, and tofu. Your best bet is to choose some sort of combo. If you don't like one protein in the dish, you can substitute for other proteins.
