YESSSSS this place was fire. Recommended by some friends who came a bit ago and so glad we got reservations ahead of time. Had a cute table where you feel like you're sitting on the floor. Our server was fantastic and the food was even better! So fresh, so delicious. It was great quality in a great environment. 10/10. Probably going again :)

We were told about this place when on the lifts earlier in the afternoon. Our new friend said if we wanted something iconic or classic Whistler, we should go here. When arriving you could tell the place was fun, casual, and had history. The signs at the entrance warned you to expect a wait. We got ourselves a Sapporo from the friendly bartender and were seated in no time. We got two apps and two rolls. All were amazing and of good quality food. Our favorite roll was the "not so secret roll", we were so tempted to order another one.

I was seated at the sushi bar and after 15 minutes of being ignored, wasn't even offered water while the folks on either side of me were helped. I was disappointed. I got up and ordered takeout instead. The guy at the counter told me it should only take 10 minutes... It took them almost 30 minutes... No one apologized for ignoring me or the long wait. Decent fish, but not worth the poor service and long wait.

Expect to wait over an hour to be seated so go walk around and explore the village while you wait. You will get a text when table is ready for you. Need to have more than 6 to make rsvp. Service is great. Food is mediocre. Place is small and cozy. Price isn't bad considering its location. I am biased since my comparison of good sushi is to Japan and Korea nevertheless this place will more than quench your sushi craving . Good spot

I was visiting whistler with a few buddies for a snowboarding trip. We quickly got tired of typical lodge food and decided to switch things up and give this place a try. We didn't have a reservation, so we had to wait about 1 hour which wasn't a problem given there are so many bars and shops in the area. They also have a very efficient texting service. The vibe is cool, a good place to have a few drinks. We ordered the oversized (2 liters) Asahi beer and a pitcher of their famous sake margarita which was great and not too sweet. For the food, we went with a selection of fried appetizers, some maki and special rolls and the udon. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious, special shout tour to the fried squid! I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of the fish and the authenticity of all the flavors. We liked this place so much we came back one more time before the end of the trip!

When I got to Whistler everyone told me the sushi places around the area were very good and unfortunately I waited until my last night to try Sushi Village which was recommended by a lot of people because it was very very good. I got the Sass role and the KFC role (yes it's what you think it would be) and both roles were super good and I highly recommend trying both. If I come back to Whistler I'll be coming back to Sushi Village.

Pro tip: majority of the negative reviews are ppl complaining about the reservation process bc they either didn't read the rules or were late. It's a VERY busy restaurant and really excellent for large groups so will almost always be a wait unless you are in line right when they open at 430p. The vibe of this place is buzzy, everyone is happy, rolls are well prepared and fresh. Would recommend 2-3 per person, 2 if you're getting appetizers. We've been coming from years, live in Seattle with plenty of great sushi. Yes expensive but not outrageous for mountain resort dining. Always have had excellent service here too. If you have 6 or more, make a rez. If you have even more email them about a group menu (which will be a per head preset price.) If less than 6, show up early to put your name on the list or be prepared to wait 30 min to 2 hrs for a table. Enjoy it!

Totally overpriced. Food too salty. $29 salmon dish needs $4 rice to be bought separately. That's weird.

We notice more people started coming in after 6pm. The food took awhile but we didn't mind since we were able to enjoy each dish and it gave us time to decide what to order next. We ordered the real crab roll and spicy roll. Like others say, the rolls were small and there wasn't much fish. The roll was good but wish there was more fish. I recommend passing on the roll if you are looking to fill up unless you order a few rolls but the value isn't there. We also order the nigiri. This is worth the money. The fish are fresh and very savory. We ended up ordering seconds. We didn't know that they had blue fin until I tried to order my second set of nigiri and was told they ran out of one of the tuna that I was trying to order. Glad I was able to order the blue fin. My kids tried it for the first time and wanted to order more. Highly recommend the nigiri if you come here to eat. We ordered appetizers as well. My kids ate all the gyoza before I can try one so I guess it was good. We also got the tuna tataki. My kids and I enjoyed it especially with the red condiment. Not sure what it is. The other condiment that came with it tasted like ginger. My wife order the sake margarita and I had a little sip of her drink. The margarita was on point. It was fruity (strawberry flavor) but not too sweet and not sour either. You can taste the sake but not as much which is a good thing if you like a mix drink where it's perfectly blended. If we didn't have to catch our shuttle back, I would have ordered this after my beer. All and all, it was a good dining experience. The food does take some time to come but it's not too long. My only disappointment was how little fish were in the roll. Other than that, the food was good. We didn't try the hotpot since the cost was extremely high where they charge for per person instead of by order. Definitely give this place a try if you like nigiri and check if they have blue fin if you do try the nigiri.

This place has always felt like one of those "special occasion only" restaurants that are usually out of reach. The special menu was such a steal and so wonderful!!! Every course came out looking delightful, from the bright, delicate starters to the beautifully cooked mains to desserts that made us slow down just to savor the moment. I didn't want the food to stop flowing. Service was warm without being stuffy, the vibe was lively but still intimate, and the whole night felt like we'd accidentally unlocked a VIP experience. Araxi did not disappoint, though I'm disappointed in myself for missing their apres deal with a discounted fondue using cave aged gruyere! Definitely reserve ahead of time during peak season. They start you with fresh herbed ciabatta and sourdough with olive oil and butter, and both breads were great but especially so for our hungry kids. They had the most perfectly sharpened quality colored pencils and a coloring/activity sheet for the kids, which was much appreciated! Drinks: - The Cure: talisker 10, pineapple, mezcal float - Fig Jam: fig infused mezcal, apple cider, fig jam, spices - great to start They also had a good wine list, and they even had some local wines by the half bottle, which was a nice option, so we got a local Pinot. Food: - Oysters: island tide and kusshi, served with traditional mignonette and horseradish - Ricotta gnocchi: with wild mushrooms, cheesy lemon fonduta, crispy sage - a smaller portion but good for sharing as an appetizer - Pacific crab and matane shrimp cake: no fillers, perfectly seared, with a great local pear and avocado salsa verde - Seared scallops: perfectly seated, with local sunchokes, crispy prosciutto, grilled bok choy, xharred pepper romesco - Ora king salmon: similar to the kids' one but dressed up, with roasted beats, beet and ginger salsa, goat cheese arancini - House made bucatini: mentaiko style with spicy cod roe, humobldt squid, breadcrumbs. This had a nice kick, and the pasta texture was great - Kids' fish: seared salmon with risotto and bok choy - a generous portion of perfectly seared salmon! Dessert: - Valrhona chocolate fondant: warm gooey chocolate cake with tahitian vanilla bean ice cream and chocolate crisps Service was great and very kid friendly (including copper mule cups for their water!). We ordered a lot of food for 2 adults and 2 young kids, but everything was so great - every item was a hit. There's a reason why we keep coming back to Araxi!

We were seated right away and our server came over and she was really nice. We checked out the menu and decided to try the tostadas. When our server came to take our order we asked about the size of the tostadas and she said they were like street size tortillas, maybe a bit bigger. It was our fault for not asking if they came with anything, we didn't and they didn't. Mr. B ordered the Ahi Tuna Tostadas and I chose the bean and pineapple tostadas. When the dishes came out, we were a bit surprised, the tostadas were sliding around on the large plates. Each dish was $16 and what we got was definitely not worth $16. The tuna tostadas were very good, had a nice spice to them. My bean and pineapple tostadas were delicious, spicy and very flavorful. So there was no complaints about the flavor of the food. But for the price I would expect a side of rice or something. This was more like an appetizer. For $32, and what we got, I wouldn't go back. So I walked over and they advertised a prix fixe menu for $30 - I can have a three course meal for less than that single salmon don! Place looks pretty nice and is very chill. As for the prix fixe it was fantastic. Basically - one appetizer, one soup like dish and a full dish. This is what I had - - ahi tuna tostada - very well done, light and great flavour - birria quesadilla with soup - both the soup and the birria was excellent. They go well together too. The quesadilla (actually more like a fried quesadilla) was already filling by itself and the meat very succulent. - chicken enchiladas - good, I also liked the green sauce it was served with. Rice was on par too. Overall I was very very happy with this meal and would definitely come back.
