I really have to say this restaurant stays pretty consistent with great service and amazing dishes! It's my absolute go to for Mexican! Margaritas are always good, this time around I ordered shrimp and chicken fajitas, I have quite often from here to me they are the best in the area, seasoning is really good, the onions are borderline caramelized which I love! OMG what delicious food! My daughter and I stopped in for the first time at lunch. She ordered Quesa Birria tacos and LOVED THEM. I ordered the Chile Relleno lunch plate. Service was horrible, waitress was rude, the food was nasty and cold, messed up order twice, they sure need to know how to speak English if they come to our neck of the woods because without that, you ain't going to make it far in this business. Please do not support this business. I have never met a manager who is so unprofessional and disrespectful. For a customer with a birthday, without any warning, they used a very large matraca that is objectively loud and startling. For a second it sounded like gunfire and, to some people (e.g. veterans with PTSD), could be traumatizing. It was so startling that it brought my wife to tears, and we had to leave. I raised my concern with the manager, and what did he say? "I DON'T F***ING CARE." That a manager would respond to a customer like this is unthinkable, and he should be held accountable. Best Mexican restaurant in South Knoxville. Never had a bad meal here, everything is always delicious. The servers are always extremely friendly and helpful, even if there is a minimal language barrier. Most importantly, it is always very clean. The green tomatillo salsa is the best I've had anywhere. The only issue I have experienced is that the outdoor patio has a bit of a bee problem. Try to sit away from the plants or you will be pestered by them during your meal. The beef burrito literally only was a stale tortilla and some type of meat they call beef. The cheese enchiladas were covered in a white cheese sauce that my daughter said looked like rotten ranch dressing. It tasted like it too. Save yourself money. Go somewhere else. Enjoyed a wonderful dinner here while visiting our son. Let the wonderful young man, Michael, who was taking care of us pick my meal. Asked him to bring me his favorite meal and to my surprise I received Carne Asada Fries with vegetables!! I can honestly say I've never in my 54 years eaten fries at a Mexican restaurant. Food there is not good. Management is horrible. I ordered shrimp enchiladas and what I received was literally a dry tortilla with a few grilled shrimp in it. Salsa is flavorless. They under pour the top shelf margaritas, especially if the manager pours them--just tasted like orange juice. I have eaten there more than once, and the food and drinks were not good each time. One time I saw a customer complain about the food, and the manager stepped outside when they left and said he did not give a F**K, and F you to them. The person complaining was not inappropriate. Food was good and the service was good until the end when our server couldn't get my debit card to work and tried 3 times before he rudely asked me if there was enough money on my card then when I asked for a manager he started demanding that I use other form of payment. Checked my bank account and I had plenty of money to cover the bill. He wasted our time because he didn't know how to ring up the card. Embarrassing us in front of the other customers never getting the manager to help. I had to leave my terminally ill wife at the restaurant so I could drive down the street to the bank and get cash out to pay them. When I got back to the restaurant she was standing out front of the restaurant crying. I would only come back here if I had cash to pay for the food. So I would not have to endure the humiliation and emotional distress that they caused me. This place has the potential to be great, but it is not. This location is in front of Walmart and behind Ruby Tuesday and offers plenty of parking, however watch out for the two unpainted small steps going up to the restaurant from the parking lot closest to Walmart. They are dangerous, unmarked and people trip or fall on them every time we eat here. The food here is not consistent. I guess it depends which cooks are on staff when go. They are severely understaffed. There are typically 2 servers working, even when both the inside and outside dining areas are completely full. The service is very poor. It takes forever to get your order in, forever to get your food and you have to beg for drink refills most of the time. Some of the servers don't comprehend English, so communication is sometimes impossible. When you finally get your food, most of the time it is acceptable, but nothing out of the ordinary. We had to send charro beans back last week because they were ice cold. The most disgusting part of our experience was the bugs all over the walls. A table two away from us also saw the bugs crawling on the walls and asked for a new table. We just killed our bugs and finished eating. It makes me wonder what the kitchen looks like. As a rule of thumb, a server should never serve more than 6 tables at a time for good service. Having two servers for an entire restaurant is completely unacceptable. We know most businesses are having a hard time staffing due to the effects COVID had on the job market, but if you only have two servers, then only seat 12 tables, not an entire restaurant and outdoor patio. That is how professional restaurants are run. Skip this place and go the Pancho's, just down the street. read more

Food is hit and miss. We have ate there about 3 times. Sometimes it is acceptable, other times it is dried out and old. Got moldy salsa one night. Service is below average. You can tell they don't like serving you. The "I don't care" attitude is to be expected. They act like they are doing you a favor by letting you eat there. The new prices are insane for what you get. Won't be eating there again. Oh, and if you do take out, they add extra money to your tab and don't tell you. They charge you for ordering take out plus items that you get for free when you eat in.
