We randomly stumbled upon this restaurant while visiting Knoxville and we're so glad we did! The food was delicious, the prices were very affordable, and everything was well worth it. But what really made this place stand out was the service. Andy was hands down one of the best servers we've ever had. He was friendly, attentive, welcoming, and made sure we had everything we needed from start to finish. Great food is always a plus, but exceptional service is what makes an experience memorable and Andy absolutely outshined even the great food. In Knoxville for 7 weeks now and I have eaten at Soccer Taco at least twice a week. Just a short walk to the market from the Embassy, this place is just so damn convenient and the food is a pretty good bonus!! I've had street tacos, enchiladas, and quesadillas, but my favorite is their Eagle Cheese Steak Burrito!! Grilled steak and onions smothered in cheese sauce, phenomenal! And I can get Charro beans with every meal! Most Mexican restaurants don't offer that option. Enjoyed a few margaritas, but I always revert back to an ice-cold Modelo! Loved the food. The atmosphere is very comfortable. Several booths line the walls and there are tables down the center. Lots of tvs to keep up with sports. We had the steak nachos and the pork fried chimichangas. The pork was so tender and delicious. The chips and salsa are really good and I love the consistency of the salsa. Oh man I have no idea why this place got anything more than 2 stars. Our poor waitress was so lost, and none of what happened was her fault. Staff seems stressed out because their kitchen staff is failing miserably and there's absolutely nothing anyone can do about horrible cooking. The manager seemed not to give a crap because she knew that it was just another day with a bad kitchen staff. Steak fajitas came out cold, and we're pretty sure the steak was questionable. The quesadilla was a JOKE, it was essentially stuffed with grease and quite literally the worse thing I had ever tasted. None of the food that came out was hot, or even nice to look at. The lengua in our street tacos were burnt crisp ends, but thank god we had lime juice to wash down the bites that we were able to stomach. Hoping that this place shuts down ASAP so a better establishment can take its place. Like Chipotle. Anything would be better than this very sorry excuse of what is supposed to be food. read more

I came here after the end of the 2024 home game. I ordered the Eagle Burrito Cheese Steak with rice, a small Queso and a side of Charro Beans. The place was packed and I had to wait for a table but it was worth the wait. Once seated, chips and salsa was delivered. Instead of describing all the flavors on each item I can say all items were flavored the way you'd expect. Kudos to management to keep a clean place to enjoy. I saw several times where staff jumped in to sweep up and clear tables. There's plenty of tv's to watch your game or different one. I was afraid the food wouldn't be authentic Mexican food but gotta say it tasted pretty authentic. I ordered the queso fundido and it came with Mushroom chorizo and roasted chiles. This is where I will gripe about it. Not sure what kind of cheese this was but tasted more like queso Blanco than queso fundido. It was more creamy and had no stringing. The chips and salsa tasted like straightup pureed tomatoes. More of a gringo salsa. So I asked my waiter for something spicy and he brought the habanero salsa and oh sweet jesus.. that shut me up right quick. I ordered the beef fajitas and those were good with the mushroom, red bell pepper and onions. They came out piping hot. A side of rice and beans with all the fajita fixings came too. I ate my first time here today. Overall it was a good experience and I plan to return. My waiter was fast and checked on me often. The food came out super fast and was tasty! It was not super busy, after being seated, a young lady brought chips and salsa, we said Thank you, but Instead of any communication we were given a rude stare. I orders were Tacos and Grilled Taco Salad. The tacos were a spoonful of ground beef and more lettuce. The grilled taco salad was filled with tomatoes and was sent back. The food was luke warm. Man, if you are ever in Knoxville, you need to go to this place. It is located in market square downtown. When I say it is good it is good. I had the street tacos, the traditional ones (Asada). Plain and simple, but they get a 10. They come with onions and cilantro on the side with a lime so you can dress it yourself. They also come with plenty of thinly sliced beef. Wow! I don't know if I was hungry or they were just that good, I differ to the layer. Homemade chips and salsa. They also make this spicy salsa that is truly spicy, but has a good flavor. My family and I stopped in here while we were in Knoxville on Saturday afternoon. We wanted good lunch and we found this place while walking around Knoxville and I'm glad we decided to go in here. We were seated very quickly they had a lot of cool memorabilia's soccer things on the walls in the day of the dead pictures and it was a lot of fun atmosphere. The waiter was super cool he was nice could be fast friendly fun everything that I asked for so he was awesome the food came out daughters got soft tacos no lettuce they liked it a lot wife got a chicken salad thing she like that a lot and I got the lunch burrito it was awesome can't complain whatsoever. Salsa was pure fire It was great I wish we had those places here in Louisville so I could visit more often but if we go back to Knoxville we will definitely check this place out again it was great read more
