My best friend and I came here yesterday for lunch. I noticed that they had a burger with chips special for $14 from 11am to 3pm. So I ordered that and she got the Bruschetta with olive tapenade (idk if I spelled it right). The burger was really good. My best friend said that the bruschetta was salty but she enjoyed it. The ambiance was super cute and I loved how we had to enter in from the coffee place in the back. I loved how the lighting was calm for the both of us. The service, was good at first until we didn't see the person who was helping us for over 35 mins. Until another server came to our table and asked how we were doing and told them that our server (who was the bartender Rona) had not come back to our table (Rona did come back a bit later, apologized and stated that they were training someone). I used to work in the service industry for years and understand how things happen but I felt like they could've communicated better with us. The reason for the 3 star is the service was kind of a big thing for us as we were wanting to get more water and another round of drinks too while we're there. But I will def come back again !!

Very nice ambiance with dim lights and television screens. The booths had interesting Hawaiian messages. The tuna tostadas were way too salty and were not super fresh. The butternut squash soup was very creamy and delicious- a little on the rich side. Service was slow, but there was a mention of being understaffed. My reservation was oddly under a different name.

Attentive, friendly service. I like the ambiance - the entrance is behind the Cora coffee shop, so it's got a bit of speakeasy vibe. Happy hour is awesome here - $7 aviation and tonic was my favorite, and the food quality exceeded my expectation. Definitely will be in my rotation.

In town for a conference and was looking for a place to have lunch. Found this place next to my hotel, downtown Hyatt. The restaurant was upstairs and had go through another establishment to get there...odd set up. The service was okay. The food was okay. I ordered the gumbo. Serving size was generous. The flavor was not as deep or as tasty as the dishes I've had in NOLA.

It's a pretty decent spot in downtown. One of the few places that was open for late lunch and it did not disappoint. The service was good and the food was good as well. We ordered fish and chips that was decent and the Swiss mushroom burger.

A great spot to stop in while downtown for a drink and meal. Conveniently close and within walking distance to Crest theater. The drinks are strong and the food is good. Next time I would just take the salad without the chicken. It didnt really go well how it was seasoned but the rest of the salad was good.

    Buffalo chicken sandwich

Came with a buddy for lunch and got the buffalo chicken sandwich. It looked phenomenal when they brought it. The second I took a bite though, I realized it was mostly bread. The chicken was actually very small and my last few bites were bun. It was pretty tasty but the buffalo sauce really overpowered the sandwich. The fries were super crispy and really good. They've got an extensive menu and lots of beers. I would definitely come back and try some other things. My friend got the burger and said it was really good. Service was pretty good too. It's a really cool bar, kinda reminds me of Firestone (RIP) and I look forward to trying more items!

We stopped here for a quick bite to eat and only had a few snacks and appetizers but they were great! I ordered the deviled eggs, crab cakes and tacos, and would order them all again. The tacos were especially good, having a fantastic mix of flavors from the battered shrimp, cream sauce, red onion, tomato, cilantro, lemon, and crispy textured flour tortilla. The tacos were so good we ordered a second round! The service was attentive. Citizen also has brunch and is now open on NFL football Sundays with a special menu. I will be back!

Very spicy and not in a good way

Not the best, not the worst. Everything was meh. The food was okay, though my chicken risotto had a very odd flavor profile that left a bad taste in my mouth. The prices were okay as well as the service but I wouldn't come back because the only thing that was somewhat good was my lemon drop martini.

Pulled pork sliders (nice happy hour price)

Came in around 3pm on a Wednesday for happy hour. We were a group of five. Our server was super and very friendly. Ordered happy hour drinks, happy hour Mac n cheese, pulled pork sliders and the French dip sliders and the loco moco. All the drinks were fantastic. The Mac n cheese was good (small portion). The pork sliders tasted great and each had a good amount of meat. The French dip sliders really good - good quality meat and stuffed too!! The loco moco was a nice serving. Great meat patty, nicely fried egg, great tasting gravy with onions, over nicely cooked rice. Such a nice experience, looking forward to trying more!!

we really enjoyed ourselves at citizen capitol craft house! the staff were incredibly friendly from the hostess, to the servers, to the food runners -- they immediately make you feel like family. the food was great, the brussels sprouts were AMAZING. the shrimp tacos had a lovely crunch on them. the jambalaya was super hearty with great flavor! the only thing i would've changed about the wedge was the pickled onions and bacon were cut on the larger side so it dominated most of the flavor :( it's super cool inside and attached to a cute coffee shop. looking forward to our next meal here, and to try something new!

    Mini cheese board

My wife and I had a great experience here the other evening. We had stopped by briefly the week before just for a drink so we decided to come this time to try some food as well. I had a couple of draft beers and she had a draft cocktail from the happy hour menu. Both hit the spot. We ordered the mini cheese board and the snacks sampler. The cheese board was great! The pickles were outstanding and a good selection of cheese and toast points. The snacks were less stellar but the green eggs and ham deviled eggs were good. We ordered the steak tartare and that was fantastic. Excellent flavors from the finely cut steak, creamy eggs yolk, and herbs/spices. This made for an excellent proper appetizer. Our main we shared was a jambalaya pasta. It had good flavor and plenty of protein inside, but I would've preferred a saucier version or a soupier version with rice. It wasn't a home run, but wasn't bad at all. Overall it was a great experience. It's a nicely decorated space with a fascinatingly large selection of bottles of liquor. Our bartender was friendly, prompt, and never left us waiting. We'll be back for sure to try some other items from the menu and return for the tartare.

Mac n cheese and Vodka Martini
    Christine L.

Came here for Happy Hour. The Martini was perfectly crafted, super cold and clean just like the way I enjoyed mine. The Mac n Cheese was garlicky and flavorful and not dry. The cheese plate was a meal size for the price. Overall it was a classy bar, nicely done drinks and chill vibes! I would definitely come back again after work and hang out here.

Fantastic Spot To "Pregame" Shows @ Goldfields Next Door…read more SITREP We descended upon the Tack Room an hour before our show for "Ally The Piper" (both the classical AND heavy metal bagpiper extraordinaire) began her show! THE SETUP Goldfields is a charming, rustic country-western stylized saloon that serves up beer at good prices. But we weren't interested in beer and wanted quality cocktails. Hence, our pivot next door to the Tack Room! QUALITY COCKTAILS & DRINKS! The Tack Room specializes an amazing array of martinis, bourbons, and other deLISH cocktail drinks at really really reasonable prices! So this was an excellent choice to chill, thus avoiding the tremendous *noise pollution* we were immediately subjected to upon entering Goldfields an hour later for our show. The other coffee drink that surprised me was the Revolver. I always forget about what a good pairing orange and coffee is, and I'll be taking this one back home with me to try! Every other drink we tried was delicious in some unique way. The Pho drink was savory and surprising, the New York Sour was rich and flavorful, and the Practical Move was refreshing. A few times now they've pointed me toward a drink that ended up being a hidden gem. I've been here a few times and it's always a great time whether you're catching up with friends or doing a date night. The food is also surprisingly good and pairs well with the cocktails. The skirt steak was juicy and tender, topped with fresh onions and cilantro, and served with salsa verde and lime on the side. The tacos had that classic street taco feel, simple but satisfying. They were generously filled with meat, which I definitely appreciated. While I'm personally not a fan of purple tortillas, the quality of the steak and toppings still made these very enjoyable. My only real criticism was the water service. The cups were fairly small, and refills weren't offered as often as I would have liked.
