We decided to stay in and order DoorDash tonight, and unfortunately my chicken quesadilla completely missed the mark. One bite in, and I immediately knew something was off. The chicken had an unpleasant taste that honestly made me question whether it was fresh. I couldn't even finish the first bite. I tried a different piece of my quesadilla and the same rubbery, disgusting taste - out right awful. Unfortunately, there are no photos because the meal was over for me the moment I tasted it. To be fair, the loaded fries were still delicious (and remain my favorite item on the menu), and my husband's quesadilla was perfectly fine. What started out looking like a great meal quickly went downhill when I tried mine. If you've read my reviews before, you know I don't often leave negative feedback, which is why this experience stands out. I've had great experiences at another Tequila Sunrise location in the area, but this time really missed the mark and left me extremely disappointed. Alot of Mexican restaurants i have been to, the cheese dip is watered down and very runny and doesn't have the flavor that this restaurant's does. Their cheese dip here is thicker than other restaurants and has such a fuller better flavor to it then other restaurants i have tasted. Something else I would highly recommend is their Mexican fried ice cream. So delicious and such a generous portion size. We were seated immediately upon entering into one of the many booths they have, promptly were asked for our drink order, followed by a basket of chips and salsa being brought to the table, and then placed our order when the server brought our drinks. All of this took place inside of probably 2 minutes. Although not every table was filled, there were a number of folks who were already there as well as entered when we did, so the service was not lacking. The chips were sort of the standard chip for a restaurant like this, a decent crunch and not much flavor. The salsa was more on the runny side as opposed to the chunky that we prefer, but it did have a good flavor and just the right amount of spice to it for a little kick without being too much. Not that it was an issue for us, but they do indicate on their menu that the first 2 baskets and salsas are complimentary, but cost $1.99 for additional orders beyond that. In my opinion, that actually seems pretty reasonable all considered. We decided to split an item listed as "new" on their menu, Seafood Fajita ($16.99). Like the rest of our experience, our meal arrived pretty soon after we order it. All of their fajita orders include a plate of refried beans, Mexican rice, lettuce, guac, pico and 3 corn or flour tortillas. Along with the usual peppers, onions, and tomatoes, our choice included scallops, shrimp, crab, and a piece of tilapia, and they didn't skimp on the quantity. I know ordering seafood can be dicey at places like this, but everything seemed to be legit and tasted pretty good. We were both filled and agreed that we would order it again. Even though we did like what we got, their menu seems to have a decent bit of other offerings that I would be interested to try as well. Bottom line, it was a very efficient meal that we both enjoyed and was priced reasonably. When the weather is more dependable, I'm sure dining on the patio would be a nice experience for a view of the reservoir and bridge as well as the general car and pedestrian traffic along the main drag.
