I just started going to this dentist after a horrible experience at Western dental and was nervous. I dont like the dentist but I was referred by a family member. I saw Dr. Anthony for my deep cleaning and he was very friendly and explained everything he was doing. I felt very comfortable and would recommend. How is it that I've been coming here for 6 years now and have yet to write a review? Shame on me! My boys and I have been seeing Dr D for over 6 years as I shamefully admitted up above. Over the last 6 years she and her staff have really become like extended family for us. I adore her staff! They have really taken the time to get to know us and everytime I go in they ask about my boys and how school is going. They are all so personable and they remember things I've told them months prior. That's impressive since I can't even remember what I ate for dinner 2 days ago. Dr Ds new office location off Sunrise is beautiful. They did a move I want to say a year ago. Moved one office up and remodeled the entire place. Seriously gorgeous. They put in a crystal light fixture in the waiting room area that my youngest son loves to try and touch. Bright sparkled and shiny how could he not. The waiting area has plenty of seating, a computer for adults or kids to play on, a TV, magazines, water, coffee, and tons of pretty shiny things to look at. The wait is never all that long and we are always greeted with happy welcoming smiles from her front desk staff. Each of the little dental rooms has a fairly large monitor in front of the comfy dental chair where you can review x-rays wt the Dr and see your records. X-rays are performed in the comfort of your chair so there is no getting up to switch rooms unless you need a panoramic. Their restroom is always clean and well stocked and the overall office is very clean. Honestly the place doesn't at all feel like a dental office but rather a high end day spa. Dental appointments haven't always been my fav but I can say I've never had a bad experience wt Dr D or her staff. Dr D is very honest upfront and to the point. She doesn't sugar coat things and I appreciate that. I could go on & on about her & her wonderful staff. They are an amazing, caring , and wonderful team. This review has been forthcoming for a while now - finally got around to it. Okay, so I was looking for a new dentist and this one popped up on my provider list and it wasn't too far. The clincher for me was the FREE WHITENING KIT when you become a new patient. I should have read the fine print, I wouldn't be getting a kit until I underwent all the procedures that they thought I needed! Turns out I "needed" a number of crowns, fillings, amongst other things. I couldn't afford it. In fact, I was given this news after I heard my husband lost his job and things were really tight. I shed silent tears in the chair when I was given the $1,600 estimate. Wow. Thankfully now we are both gainfully employed, but at the time, the last thing I needed was this news. I didn't end up getting all the "necessary" work because I couldn't afford it at the time. So there goes my whitening kit and I'd have rotten teeth. I had my daughter come here as well. New customer right? I asked if I could still have my kit (I was desperate for some whiter teeth) and I was told "no." Although the business is listed as Dr. Deguzman, there are actually a group of dentists that work here. You don't always get the same dentist. It is good to find out when your favorite one is working here. The actual Dr. Deguzman never saw me. I had one dentist that was extremely unprofessional. She always called me "Jennifer" because I looked like someone she knew named Jennifer and she thought it was hilarious. This happened on three separate visits. Also one time her cell phone was ringing in her pocket which happened to be right in my ear when I was reclined. It was annoying. She was the one who said I had decay "everywhere" in my mouth. The extra star is for the hygienist who was very nice and did a fantastic job. Otherwise, I'd avoid this place. I did not have a good experience here! I also learned my lesson about getting "free" teeth whitening kits -- bottom line, just buy some Crest Whitening Strips or something. In the end, that's what I had to do! read more

I had gone 13 years since my last dentist visit, mostly because I was fed up with their dishonesty. Separate dentists would give me different appraisals of my dental predicaments, with large gaps in the pricing. X-rays always seemed unavailable and elusive. To be honest, I've always had a hard time referring to dentists and chiropractors as "Doctors" to begin with. Thanks to HIPPA and technology, though, I was very pleased to go to Teresa deGuzman's office and see how different things are today. Pros: First visit was easy triage process and took less than 5 minutes. Kept their appointment time to the minute. Friendly staff shows personal concern but not past that creepy stalker vibe. Utilized text messages to confirm and change my appointment. Computer screen in front of your chair shows your X-rays instantly. Thought I might need a root canal but offered to try filling cavity before reaching that conclusion. Took their time, did not feel rushed. Comfortable treatment chairs. Clean bathroom. Modern decor (could be a con I guess) Weekend hours available. More than one location. Offers cosmetic dentistry. Made cosmetic options available without pressuring. Let me pay a couple days after visit. Cons: Pricing was not made clear before each visit, but I was able to call a few days ahead and figure it out. Admin staff seems a tad disorganized, but they accomplished the objectives. I have a feeling some processes were new. Location is not easily seen from main road, and took a few extra minutes to find. read more

First of all, this review has been long overdue. We've been going to Dr. Deguzman for almost 8 years now, since before they even renovated the building! Dr. D was the first dental practice my husband and I have gone to since moving to Sacramento and we have been with them ever since. The staff is amazing, always courteous and are great with our kids. Scheduling is easy and they are always great with reminding me of appointments /making changes etc. Wait time is also great. My family and I always felt at home when visiting. What's awesome is that they now have a separate office for kids right next door and my kids always have a blast because they offer so many great distractions like videos games, a nicely stocked play area and movies for the kids. Best of all they are open on some Saturdays! As parents with young kids, it was such a great advantage for us! I have definitely recommend them in the past to friends and families and will recommend them again to anyone who is looking for a great dentist. read more

I worked out a plan with the staff to get a lot of fillings done that I had been putting off. I should have gone with my first impression and just left after the first couple times. After the first filling they prescribed me an antibiotic. The second time I had work there (a couple weeks later) they tried to prescribe me an antibiotic AGAIN...an antibiotic that I was allergic to at that. During my course of work that I had done, which included many fillings and one root canal/crown, I was extremely uncomfortable because I kept feeling the work they were doing. I don't know if the novicaine was wearing off or if they didn't give me enough...But it kept happening. Almost every time I was there I had a different dentist. Ever since I had work done there, I have had SEVERE tooth sensitivity. Some days it brings me to tears. I have to eat slowly and cannot eat anything too hot or too cold. I cannot bite into anything hard...even an apple. I exchanged a handful of emails with Dr Deguzman about this...the last time she asked me to come in to try to figure out what is going on, she wasn't there. It was another dentist. Dr Deguzman has not done ANY of my work. She finally stopped responding to my emails.... So I am left with almost a thousand dollars that I owe to care credit, and miserably sensitive teeth. The one plus to this place is that the front office staff and hygienists are very nice. But unfortunately that doesn't make up for incompetent dentists... read more

I don't understand why there are negative reviews here, I have been going to mytoothspa and seeing Dr.Deguzman since I was in high school, The staff are easy to work with and Dr. Deguzman is the best dentist I have ever seen. She moves around from her 3 different locations but she is definitely a caring dentist. I couldn't afford getting my fillings done so she worked a very easy payment plan for me since my insurance did not cover everything. This office has a computer with Internet access, free coffee, different magazines to choose from, and of course the best dental work you'll ever need read more

I am so happy to have found this dental office! Everyone is super friendly, professional and thorough. I have never been so relaxed and comfortable going to the dentist as I am now. I have always been so insecure about my teeth, and when talking with anyone there I have never once felt judgement or embarrassment. Which is huge because every other dental office I've been to always made me feel bad: shaming me for not coming in sooner and asking questions like "why don't you do this or that?" Or saying even "ooohhh this is baaadddd". It is the opposite here :) I feel like for once I can just go in and get what needs to get done, with no pressure AT ALL to do something I don't want to or can't afford. And on the financial subject- I am so grateful for the plan I am set up on and their willingness to really work with me. I've put off going to the dentist because of the anxiety I feel with my teeth and the money it's going to cost me, but for once I am super proud to be taking care of my health! Sacramento is filled with a overabundance of family dentistrys offering free whitening...$500 off Invisalign...100 wishes and a million dollars... but Dr. Deguzman's office is truly set apart from the rest of these offices. I will never get my teeth looked at by another practice in Sacramento! Customer Service: To me, customer service is the pièce de résistance of a business. Dentists, hygienists and staff each take the time to memorize my name, and ask me how my previous work is holding up. Even the office manager approached me to shake my hand and introduce himself. It's nice to feel warm & comfortable in a dentist office, which is a true deviation from my typical, apprehensive feeling upon walking through the door of a dentist's office. Atmosphere: Very cozy feel to the office. Coffee machine, couches, magazines... typical dentist office. Dental work: About 3 months ago when I was inquiring every dental office in the greater sacramento region for invisalign prices, they were the cheapest ones by far. Not only that, but they offered free whitening, and also offered a feasible payment plan for my braces. Being a newly graduated student, struggling with payments for invisalign wasn't a problem thanks to them. Seriously the best dentistry. I work for the dental insurance company Delta Dental and they are always accurate on billing, never do unnecessary services and always request a pretreatment estimate before doing major work. Went in at the end of 2010 as a new customer, having been referred by a friend who told me about free whitening. Having never had a cavity my whole life she claimed i had 7 and proceeded to do fillings. Really? No... shady. Money hungry and greedy if you ask me. To this day, my teeth feel rough and uneven, and i have a sharp pain that they cant explain but they can certainly treat with a root canal? Hah. How convenient. Today is 10/3/19. I received three emails from this office telling me to make an appointment. I thought, I had already booked an appointment when I was last seen by the dentist on 4/13/19. It was during the last wave of my deep cleaning. The woman at the front desk booked it 6 months in advance and I was there when she was punching keys in her computer. I chose 10/19/19 at 9 am, I kept repeating to her the date because she already messed up an appointment before. This afternoon, today on 10/3/19 I called and Maria said the appointment was for 10/12/19. What?.! Wow. She then offered Roseville office. Really? If I want to drive to Roseville I will schedule for Roseville. She then insisted I go on 10/12/19 or 10/4/19. If I am available those dates I would have chosen it! I was so disappointed, honestly, angry at the incompetency of the people working here! Two strikes! I could not believe it! Two times my schedule had been messed up!? What kind of idiotic people work here? Seriously, how on earth can someone put in a wrong schedule unless they were stupid or did it purposely. A friend told me they were having a deal on their ZOOM whitening procedure for $99 (and later was told they are switching to a laser treatment). Since it was my first time and I'm not a regular patient, I had to take time to fill out patient paperwork. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The hygienist that helped me explained the procedure and found my starting tooth color. I was given eye protection/shade, headphones, a neck pillow, and a bell in case I needed his attention. The procedure went smoothly with the hygienist checking in often and even the doctor dropped in to say "hi." Overall, I'm very satisfied with the procedure and my experience here. read more

This place is pretty good. Everyone who works there is extremely friendly, and you can watch movies while your teeth are being worked on. The dentist I saw (not de Guzman) was very sweet, although she wasn't the most attentive/careful and she had a tendency to get heavy-handed during my procedures (fillings and root canals). There were also a couple times when they had to stop and give me more Novacaine because they hadn't given me enough and I could still feel it. I ended up finding another dentist who is a better fit for me, but I would recommend this place at least for cleanings and basic fillings. If you have really bad teeth and associated dental anxiety like I do, this may not be the best place for you. But worth a shot, maybe. They're nice people. read more

Came here for the Zoom whitening. Such a great value! My teeth went from yellow to Ross Gellar white. The procedure itself was a little painful but totally worth it. Would do again. Side note: I don't recommend using the Maps app on your phone to find this place. Took me to a random neighborhood a few miles away. My mom referred me to Dr. Deguzman back in 2009 I think. And I haven't looked back since! Best dental experience ever and Tanya the hygentist is also the best at this location. Still a happy patient after all of these years and I've done Invisalign, veneers, my first root canal, deep cleaning, and a night guard. Since she has three offices now she works at certain ones on certain days, but I've had great experience with all of the providers in all locations. read more

The staff is great. I had lots of work done over two years and no insurance. They were very helpful; getting the treatment I needed while not soaking me with unnecessary costs. Finding a good quality dentist that will not add "extras" that just drive up the cost but does not help your health is difficult. They have great office staff but the dentists are continually trying to sell more dentistry. My son had braces and had beautiful teeth. This office submitted plans to my insurance provider for invisalign braces for him! When I called to find out why they did this without my knowledge, they did not have a reason that made any sense. I have been with this Dental practice for several years. Originally I went because they were open on a Saturday and I had an emergency tooth ache. The dentist I saw was Callia Not Teresa DeGuzman. I have had experience with DeGuzman and Nguyen at this location and was not impressed with their chair side manners and their lack of listening skills. With 25 plus years experience in the dental field , both chariside and Insurance side I am not naive to the "YOU NEED TO HAVE A RCT/BLD-UP/CROWN" routine. I am very informed in this field and do not appreciate how this dental practice will persuade their cash paying patients to believe what they are being told. First and foremost get a second opinion if all you have gone in for is an emergency (9110) toothache and walk out paying for NO work to relieve the pain, but have had a(FMX) (210) full mouth X-rays and a (330) pano, NP (new patient) exam and perio charting done. I used to go to another dentist in the area and was really disappointed with their service. I then began going to Dr. Deguzman and was so pleased with the amount of care and respect I received. The people on the front desk always let me know when I am going to hit my insurance cap and tell me what is a priority and what can wait till the new year. I have never been so pleased to go to a dentist. In January I will be getting Invisalign from her. Every time I go there it is a smooth and wonderful experience. We went to Dr. Deguzman in early 2013. We weren't happy with their services , that's along list. We decided to find a new dentist. We did, and after seeing the new dentist we found out that my bridge didn't need replaced and a few other things. My reason for writing the review however is because, when our new dentist billed our insurance, the insurance would not pay the claim. I inquired as to why the claim wasn't being paid. They told me that it was due to the fact that Dr. Deguzman's office was over paid and the over payment was not returned. Most insurance company's don' t over pay unless they are billed incorrectly. With that sad I called Dr. Deguzman's office they said that "yes they were over paid" . I asked them to please repay it so my insurance would pay our new claim. They said yes they would. It has been at least 6 weeks later, and at least 5 phone call to them to get them to pay it . I get a new story every time I call. The last time was today, 02/27/2014.I was told that Tony Deguzman the owner , Dr. Teresa Deguzman's husband knows about it and he just hasn't done anything about it. Why would they be on a preferred dental plan, if this is what they do with our insurance. I tried multiple times to get this resolved nicely with this dentist. I can say, that what took place in the dental chair mimics this. Which is part of the reason we switched This is still not resolved so I'll be paying my new dental bill to keep myself in good standing with my new dentist. Thank goodness we didn't need all the work this dentist wanted to door this bill would be huge. From here I go to the BBB. Possibly an attorney. I think this is very unethical. read more
