Hubby and I have been eating here on and off for a few years, mostly when we are in the area and won't be making it in time to our neighborhood sushi spot. I have noticed the last few times, that the service is still good but the portions for the price are a little lacking, not a lot, but enough to notice. I really like seaweed salad and it a good portion here, enough to share a few bites. I often - especially in fall and winter season like hot appetizers, but most are a bit on the expensive side, stuffed oysters on the 1/2 shell are over $25.00 so I pass and just go with sushi rolls. Hibachi dinners are very good and well worth the money and you get a bit of everything oup, salad and rice. Give them a try, you will like it. read more

The love boat came with miso soup and an excellent salad for each of us and was really great, with a super fresh selection of sushi, sashimi and two "chef choice" rolls. Over all a fantastic meal, as well as a solid value. The same dinner where I live would have easily been an additional $30-40. read more

Food poisoned. This summer we have ordered take out sushi rolls from Teresa's several times, and generally they were good, but never again after yesterday. The shrimp tempura roll was not fresh and shortly after eating it I began to feel sick. A few hours later I became violently ill for 12-18 hours. There are no free passes on poisoning people. The absolute best sushi and Asian food anywhere around. Anytime I try to go somewhere else for sushi, I wind up going here a few days later because the other place is never satisfying. The only problem is that I have a hard time deciding what to get! Every time I try something new it becomes another "must have" and that list is now very long. As some mentioned, the service was slightly slow, but nothing to worry about if you are not in a rush and can just relax and enjoy the nice atmosphere. Teresa Osaka's is the best Japanese restaurant I've been to a while other restaurants have been good this one is above all. The sushi is the freshest I ever had. I cannot tell you which kind I had because I was sharing some off the Love Boat that our friends were having. My brother and I had the seafood hibachi which was full delicious seafood. It came with soup. I chose miso and got to sample my brother's clear soup too. Both hot and yummy. The ambiance is elegant and really nice. Teresa and her husband Alex are warm hosts. Going above and beyond to ensure everything was to our liking. Their staff does the same. Love the food and the owners. Just to let you know it's BYOB and has a lovely outdoor patio too. Saturday night was a little empty--there were only a few other groups besides us there. We ordered the love boat for two, which was around $50, and more than enough. I actually wish we ordered the smaller set, which was around $40. The boat came with a bunch of sashimi, sushi and two specialty rolls, which the chef picks. Not the most fresh that I've ever had, but pretty good. What was great was the service. Super nice and I actually think that they're Japanese which is uncommon in this area. Be prepared to wait literally 2 hours for your food after being seated. It is really just excruciatingly slow. No one even came up and said anything about it. A couple of issues, the dinner took almost an hour and 20 minutes to be served even though the restaurant was slow and though the food was nice and hot and tasty the sesame chicken was too salty. It was baffling how long the meals took as this was planned ahead of time with the restaurant since the party was to be a group of 10. I had thought maybe instead of having a mandatory 25% on gratuity that in this case 20% would have been more appropriate as a way to apologize for the slow service or if not that then even comping an appetizer would have felt satisfactory. read more

Came to Theresa Osaka for the first time with family that frequents often. When we got there (a few minutes late) there was a crowd. We may have waited a few minutes. Once the hostess greeted us, we by past the crowd and was seated immediately. I guess it doesn't hurt that my cousin knew the owner, who btw, her and her staff were polite and pleasant.
