I've passed this place more times than I can count, always wondering if the food was good. I came here on a whim and decided to finally give it a shot... I ordered the basic chicken teriyaki bowl and the new it on the menu, Korean Fried Chicken. The young lady at the register was super nice and friendly, answered all my questions about the menu and gave me her suggestions. The cook seemed like he was in the zone preparing meals so I didn't get a great service experience other than at the Cash register, but he gets a pass. First I was extremely surprised to see the cook pull out fresh chicken thighs that were marinating and then deep fry them right on the spot. Not sure what I was expecting from a little stand at the mall, but it def wasn't that level of freshness. The cook consistently checked on the temp to make sure it was fully cooked. After taking the chicken out and putting in a wok, he then added the Korean sauce (spicy level) and packed it with rice ($2 extra) to go. The chicken was crisp, juicy, sweet/tangy with a good heat level. HUGE portion! The chicken teriyaki was my safe choice and it definitely hit the spot. The chicken did have some dry pieces, but overall juicy and no fatty pieces. The extra teriyaki sauce I added was sweet and gave it that perfect finish. For the huge portions, the price point is accurate. I could have easily shared one entree between two people. I def ordered enough for four! Will be back! read more

This place is located on the same property as the Arden Mall. But it's not directly attached to the mall. My daughter wanted to come here for her birthday. We enjoyed the sushi. Tucked inside the mall near California pizza kitchen as a food stand. I'm glad I gave this place a try. Ordered spicy chicken teriyaki plate that comes with white rice and lettuce salad. The chicken was charred and cooked to perfection. I am not the biggest fan of teriyaki chicken because most places have smaller cuts of chicken scraps and very sauce heavy. The chicken served was a big chunk and the sauce was rather light. Owner was very polite and asked me how the food was while eating at the table near by. I love teriyaki grill. Normally we go to the one in rancho Cordova but we didn't want to drive far so we went to the location near the mall. We have been to this location before which is why we came but the three stars were for the customer service and the portion of shrimp that was provided. My husband's portion was noticeably small while mines was great. I didn't complain but I can see why he did. He is a chef so he gets the kitchen life but we didn't understand why the portions were so small maybe because he chose fish instead of meat. We wish we could have been notified by the girl at the counter or maybe the cook that the portions are smaller than the meat portions. Also the shrimp was over cooked so that could also be why it was so small and dried out. We may try them again and hope that the girl at the front doesn't have an attitude that day read more

Would you pass by a Chinese restaurant and walk another quarter mile in 98 degree heat to a Japanese restaurant? We were staying at the Doubletree by Hilton Arden Fair for the three day Golden Jubilee Dixieland jazz festival, Labor Day Weekend 2019. Didn't want to have the same old American comfort food at DBH Twiggs, so came here. Walked 20 minutes to reach Teriyaki Grill in the 165 store Arden Fair Mall. Ordered the $11.50 teriyaki chicken, 4 pot stickers, brown rice, and salad. Wife ordered the $11.50 teriyaki shrimp, sesame chicken, cucumber, and edamame. Thought the picture was originally of calamari, but believe those are sesame seeds on the breaded surface of that food. Service is slow, taking at least 20 minutes, despite there being nobody else around waiting to order. Both of us, head down, scarfed down everything on the plate, just like our cat at home. No complaints about the food. The teriyaki chicken was moist and fresh, full of juice. The pot stickers were perfectly cooked, browned on the bottom but not burned. I always have salads in extreme hot weather. Average portion sizes, and decent value. Walking out saw a plate stacked like a mountain full of $8 spicy Thai chicken. Next time! Oh, by the way, the Chinese restaurant we passed a quarter mile back in another area of the mall was Panda Express. So it's not saying much that we passed by a Chinese restaurant to come here! read more

Love the beef and chicken teriyaki! Definitely worth it and way more cheaper than bento box or any other japanese american restaurant from what I found so far. They give a generous amount for the price. Do NOT order online as it is way more expensive. Like 3 or 4 bucks more than what you pay for. The only issue I had was the sauces and dressings. They literally have no dressing for their cucumber salad and regular salad. It is literally plain. The korean fried chicken I asked for was not worth the 15 bucks. I thought it came with a white sauce in a picture I saw on here but I guess I was wrong. Tasted like regular chinese food. I also got the panko shrimp and I feel that needs certain sauce for it as well. Maybe because I didn't request it? I haven't tried the other sides but will do in the future. This spot is super hidden. It's on the other side of Jersey Mike's, across from the 99 cent store. I ordered 4 teriyaki rice plates and an order of potstickers through the phone. Once inside, I paid for the food and then I noticed their special for $12.99 that came with 1 choice of protein, rice, salad, potstickers and a soda. I asked the worker whether it was too late to change my order to the special but ended up changing my mind because I didn't want to be difficult. I had my work shirt on and the worker started talking to me because he recognized my work place. It turns out he is the owner of the restaurant and that many of my coworkers are his regulars. After receiving my order, I went to check that my order was correct and he hooked it up with potstickers. Not only did I have my side order of potstickers, but I also had 2 extra potstickers in each box! They have great customer service with solid food.
