    Peking pork

This building was home to Chung King. Probably one of my favorite Chinese buffets growing up as a kid in the 90's and 2000's. Along with Luau Garden, Chung King served fresh Chinese food and endless amounts of it. So when I was in the area I decided to stop by and support a familiar place. Located right off Watt Avenue, Lucky Wok is a more than decent Chinese restaurant. My experience eating here was a good one thanks to the young man who waited on me. He was courteous and attentive. Food here was a solid 3.5/5 stars. Fried prawns stood out best. Big pieces of shrimp in a nice batter. The hot mustard sauce here is no joke. Go light unless you got a death wish! Peking pork here was cooked perfectly. I loved their sauce it was covered in. I'd return just for that dish. The Singapore noodles threw me off. They had a curry base despite not looking like they did in the picture. But I enjoyed all the veggies in it and I still ate it all. There was a female worker who talked on speaker phone the entire time lol. Her voiced echoed throughout the entire restaurant. I was the only customer and I wasn't going to say anything. Although Chung King is long gone it's nice to know a traditional Chinese eatery took over. Their food is worth a try as it's made fresh and the portions are huge, also it's pretty good!

Was passing through the neighborhood starving. This place came up with good ratings. I ordered to go an hour before closing. And was skeptical of how my food would be prepared... I took the chance anyway. I ordered the sweet & sour pork combo, salt & pepper pork & hot & sour soup. Let me tell you - no regrets! It's exactly the flavor that I've been craving a missing. With a few restaurants disappointing me not too long ago, this was such a great surprise. The food was prepared well. Chowmein not greasy. Cooked perfectly with a lot of flavor. The sweet & sour sauce was just saucy enough. A perfect merry of sweet & tinge of the sour tang. The hot & sour soup was perfection. Exactly what I needed in this 40 degree weather. They did NOT skimp on the soup fillings either. They definitely didn't rush to make or short my meal of any seasoning at all. Highly recommend!

First time ever trying the food here at this Chinese spot. I did pick up and was greeted very quickly by a lovely man. The ambiance inside was observed to be clean but also empty. It was about 230pm on a Thursday so lunch special ends at 3pm everyday. I got my food and came back to work and the food was okay for the price. The General Chicken was soaked in the sauce as you can see in the pic, the Chow Mein was meh. The potstickers were really good though! I kinda felt like the general chicken and the chow mein was missing some flavors but I did love how my food was really hot when I picked it up and then driving back to my work. It's not a bad place to order it but for me I will try their dinner specials and see if I want to go back again.

I and my family first time this place. A menu with a wide variety of dishes. All so good and fresh!

I purchase some war wonton soup I wasn't feeling well. The soup I can't say much about it because when I got home I put some mama noodles in it with the season packet so it's good now but here's my complaint The pork that they put in the soup is old you can taste that flavor when pork is old how dare they everything should be fresh I'm going to put this picture of this piece of pork up I threw the rest of it away I kept this piece because they pretty much all look the same The service was great very nice people The ambience I only have one problem with that When you own a restaurant you need to keep everything clean including your inside doors they shouldn't be black I should have took a picture of that it was horrifying about his horrifying is this piece of shitty meat. Don't put day old three day old or whatever the case may be meat on a customer's plate in their soup or otherwise

Dined in and had the General Chicken with Fried Rice combo for dinner tonight. The fried rice visually appeared ok, but was slimy upon taste. There were a few hard pieces of rice also. I concluded that the rice served to me was old and overdue. Nice people in the front but should not be serving old rice to customers. tsk tsk

Food is really good I ordered the pawns combo. Comes with complimentary soup & a side of rice. The price is supper affordable for the large portions ! The servers was very attentive. Bright us some hot sauces and tea. Restaurant can get loud during busy times. But for lunch and after it's pretty quiet.

Looks good, unfortunately it doesn't taste good. No veggies in the chow mein and greasy fishy tasting food.

I had a friend tell me to try this place again and that it must have been an off day. So, I tried their food again, and it was VERY GOOD! I have since then ordered a couple more times after my great experience and those other times were great too! Portions for the lunch special are a good amount, and plenty for left over. Food is not soaked in grease and the vegetables are fresh perfectly cooked. If you're in the area and in the mood for Chinese food, give them a try.

Perfect crispiness and actually crispy walnuts. I think a crispy walnut in a honey walnut shrimp is a must. IDK how I went for so long without being obsessed with honey walnut shrimp. the green beans were delicious. even getting them takeout, they remained crispy. They were also well seasoned. It was a chilly garlic rather than just garlic, which I liked. normally I feel like garlic green beans are under seasoned, but these ones were well done, flavoring wise. The orange chicken was really good. It actually tasted like purposeful seasoning rather than just relying on the orange to carry it. I wish it was crispier, but it probably would've been had I ordered it in restaurant. I wish the chicken pieces were smaller, but that's my personal preference. The chicken was really good quality/ cuts of meat. No fat or weird textured pieces.

We decided to try a little bit of everything and here is what we ordered: hot and sour soup, potstickers, spicy cucumbers, BBQ pork, BBQ pork fried rice, Mongolian beef, and honey walnut shrimp. The food came out fast and piping hot. Pretty soon our entire table was covered with dishes. We started with the hot and sour soup, which we both felt was lacking in the flavor department. It didn't have that spicy tang that you look for when you order hot and sour soup. The potstickers were fried crispy, but the dough was a little too thick. The spicy cucumbers had no flavor to them at all. And the honey walnut shrimp was not memorable. We both felt that the two best dishes were the BBQ pork fried rice and the Mongolian beef. The beef was tender and had good flavor. The prices were extremely fair and the portions were large, but all in all this was not my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area.

There is a good amt of seating but let me tell you, it fills up FAST. The menu is EXPANSIVE with tons of options for omnivores and vegetarians alike. I will admit the impossible siu mai grabbed my attention pretty fast because I had never seen a vegetarian siu mai before sooo we had to order it. My friends shared the pork xlbs and we got the garlic green beans and the garlic noodles to share as well! Honestly, it was like being in a flow state between the garlic noodz and the green beans alone; highkey could eat multiple plates of just those two back to back to back l o l The siu mai was also delish but the other two dishes were somehow better. The soy/vinegar and chili oil they give for dipping is so good and hits that perfect note between salty/tangy/spicy. Prices are fair for the quality and I would love to go back and try more of their vegetarian options! I appreciate that this a spot that both vegetarians and their omnivore friends can go~ Have to go back to try their desserts including the egg tarts that sold out!

Its been so bad the past decade that we decided to give it another chance. Different management, different chefs, different everything basically. The fried flounder was so fried that I could not separate the bones, not only that, you could barely get any meat out of it. Our table had nine people and they only provided 6 buns with our peking duck. I thought they didn't have enough steamer space and was going to bring more but nope. The shrimp in their salted egg pumpkin and shrimp dishes was overcooked and their deep fried pig intestines were extremely stinky. Their portion sizes downsized like crazy and it's so bad that we didn't even finish any of the dishes. The best dish was a stir fry cauliflower dish that I could make at home. It was supposed to come with pork, but I only saw itty bitty pieces of meat. The service was also super bad and slow. I was eating their fried rice and bit on a piece of broken yellow plastic with multiple sharp points. Prior to that, I was feeding my toddler the rice so THANKFULLY it didn't go to him. When we told the server, which was an older lady with glasses and bangs, she's like oh... then she took it to the kitchen and pretended that nothing had ever happened when she came back out. Shes been there for years, and I remember seeing her when we were regulars. I wasn't expecting anything, except for some accountability. I used to love this place so it's pretty sad to see how much it went downhill.... This business needs to be scrapped. The current 3 stars is giving them too much credit and it must have been due to when they used to be good, in the past.
