My husband and I ordered from here via DoorDash. They have a wide variety of dishes on the menu including lunch specials, combo plates, and dinner bundles. We ended up ordering Lucky Dinner A that came with chicken chow mein, BBQ pork fried rice, and sweet and sour chicken. We also ordered salt and pepper pork to have an additional protein dish. Everything tasted amazing! My only feedback would be that the chow mein noodles lacked some flavor but eating it with the sweet and sour chicken didn't matter since the flavor of the sweet and sour overpowered. My husband and I ordered too quick and didn't realize they had other Lucky Dinner bundles! We noticed after ordering the Lucky Dinner A bundle that the Lucky Dinner B had everything we would've wanted so that is definitely what we will be ordering next time! Just kinda bland. Ordered the spicy chicken and chow mein combo and an order of potstickers. The chicken was ok, not spicy unless you got a slice of jalapeño. Chow mein was good a greasy, but not much in the way of ingredients as far as mushrooms, carrots, onion or carrots. Plenty of pork, though. The potstickers were weird. DEFINITELY OUT OF A BAG. The wrapper was flakey like pie crust, not like normal potstickers. The chicken inside was pretty flavorful. I won't go back. There are better places for less $$$. read more

This building was home to Chung King. Probably one of my favorite Chinese buffets growing up as a kid in the 90's and 2000's. Along with Luau Garden, Chung King served fresh Chinese food and endless amounts of it. So when I was in the area I decided to stop by and support a familiar place. Located right off Watt Avenue, Lucky Wok is a more than decent Chinese restaurant. My experience eating here was a good one thanks to the young man who waited on me. He was courteous and attentive. Food here was a solid 3.5/5 stars. Fried prawns stood out best. Big pieces of shrimp in a nice batter. The hot mustard sauce here is no joke. Go light unless you got a death wish! Peking pork here was cooked perfectly. I loved their sauce it was covered in. I'd return just for that dish. The Singapore noodles threw me off. They had a curry base despite not looking like they did in the picture. But I enjoyed all the veggies in it and I still ate it all. There was a female worker who talked on speaker phone the entire time lol. Her voiced echoed throughout the entire restaurant. I was the only customer and I wasn't going to say anything. Was passing through the neighborhood starving. This place came up with good ratings. I ordered to go an hour before closing. And was skeptical of how my food would be prepared... First time ever trying the food here at this Chinese spot. I did pick up and was greeted very quickly by a lovely man. The ambiance inside was observed to be clean but also empty. It was about 230pm on a Thursday so lunch special ends at 3pm everyday. I got my food and came back to work and the food was okay for the price. The General Chicken was soaked in the sauce as you can see in the pic, the Chow Mein was meh. The potstickers were really good though! I kinda felt like the general chicken and the chow mein was missing some flavors but I did love how my food was really hot when I picked it up and then driving back to my work. I have since then ordered a couple more times after my great experience and those other times were great too! Portions for the lunch special are a good amount, and plenty for left over. So the food isn't bad. Their Thai Tea is actually my favorite Thai Tea all over Sacramento. The problem is, is this one particular lady who works in the front. She is so flipping rude. On multiple occasions over the past year, I've come in to order or order over the phone; she's argumentative, interrupts you, and I've seen her straight up ignore customers in person who were there to place orders. The last straw for me was in a 1 months span, I had called multiple times for a possible delivery and the same lady always said "no driver today, order door dash." I totally understand there not being a driver available, but different days, no consistency? When on Watt Avenue, do this! I recently returned to my old stomping grounds (Watt, Arden, El Camino area in Sacramento, CA). I do not know if there are new owners and cooks, but it's the same building. They don't offer the buffet that I remember from 30 years ago, and the plexiglass still separates you from the friendly, warm-smiled hostess/cashier (thank you, COVID), but the menu is still as extensive as the friendly staff. This leads me to believe the business was able to stay open through the hardships off 2020-2021!!! We decided to order the FWC (Foil-Wrapped Chicken) to take back yo the hotel. Yup! This restaurant is very tasty for the orders my husband and I repeatedly order. Combo plates do not come with egg rolls. But, the lunches do. We get Salt and pepper chicken, chicken chow mein, and pork fried rice. My husband gets salt and pepper shrimp. I do all noodles, he does all pork fried rice. We ask for both dishes to be extra spicy, meaning they put more jalapeños. The batter on both proteins is light and crispy. It's like if McDonald's chicken nuggets were this type of batter, they would be bomb. So TY Lucky Wok! I also get the potstickers. Huge! Nice crisp on bottom and not too thick of dough. Plenty of filing. I appreciate how friendly they are and will answer any questions without hesitation. We get to-go once a week. Never disappoints. It's located on Watt Avenue in Arden Arcade across street from Petsmart and Smart and final. They are quick too. The hot tea is good and the egg flower soup is good. Only drawback is no alcohol. He informs people that he will not get to their order for at least 20 minutes after you wait 5 minutes to be seated. The 5 front tables are all dirty - dishes removed but food bits all over them. Carpet is dirty too. There is a lunch special but if you want 1/2 rice and 1/ chowmein, then there is a $2 up charge- so if with some one else each should choose all one or the other then Sharon save $4+. Some interesting customers too, 2 tables with people playing videos very loud and a Chinese language news channel cranked up as well as Chinese men talking super loud at each other from tables on opposite sides of restaurant. People enter and ask for something to wipe off the tables. Eggflower soup smelled bad? So did not taste it. The sweet and sour chicken is as I remember it was when I last ate here a long time back. Breaded but very tasty. Chow main is standard and extra salty. If I actually ever eat here again, it will be an à la cart to go order for sure. read more
