What I got.
Letenetta L.

I was very disappointed with my recent experience with Bento box this evening. I ordered the Korean Barbecue Chicken Bowl and Chicken Ramen for the first time. And I waited 36 minutes for overcooked Korean Barbecue Chicken. Though there was a nice amount of chicken, there were hardly any edible pieces of chicken to eat. And the vegetable portion size is just basically for presentation. As for the Chicken Ramen, I am pleased, as it's hard to go wrong with Ramen. There were only about 3/4 tables with people dining in. The rest had to be online orders like mine. Safe to say I won't be ordering the bowl again.

The location is swell. It's in the heart of downtown, almost midtown. There are tons of other restaurants and businesses nearby. It's mainly street parking but there are a few paid lots and parking structures nearby. The service is alright. Our server came by to check on us about once. The sushi did come out quickly though. Id say our meal came out in about 10 minutes. The portions are averagely sized. They are your "large" sushi rolls but still will likely need 3 orders to get full (depending on your hunger). The prices are average for sushi in 2025. I'd say each roll is about $15, definitely expect to walk out of here for around $45 for a meal for two. This makes it a ($$$) for me but the flavor of the rolls were really good. I loved the sauce they used and the caviar was nice and crunchy. I also liked the cooked rolls they have. I always get the sake bombs when I come. Bottom line/TLDR: great sushi spot!

Definitely check out this place for Monday through Friday daily specials. There's different bento boxes to choose from. They also have plenty of rolls. I like going for the bento boxes. Everything taste delicious and this is located near the college so the foot traffic can get a little crazy and busy. There's plenty of parking in the parking lot. The last time I was here they were undergoing some renovations in the bathroom, but they were still usable. I can't wait to come back and check out everything this place has to offer and the new upgrades.

I've been wanting to try this place for the longest but they were either closed when we went to try them or I got out voted. Luckily, we were driving around trying to look for a good spot. Found them again and arrived 30 min before they closed. We felt bad going in so late but we were hungry and I had a long drive back to the Bay. When we got in, we asked if we can still order and the lady at the counter was super kind and said yes. To help them a little, we asked to have the food in to-go boxes so less clean up and easy for us to pack up and go. Food looked and smelled AMAZING!! Everything we ordered was BOMB! We ordered 2 Korean short rib bentos, one teriyaki salmon bento, one teriyaki shrimp bento, one order of gyoza, and a lion king roll. This place looks like it's good for groups. Service was on point too! We are definitely going back!

Seafood Udon

Staff are friendly Food is okay, nothing special Good portion sizes and decently priced First time I got the seafood udon. The squid was rubbery and bland but the rest was decent. Second time I got the tempura udon. The tempura was cooked nicely.

I didn't know I had to order first before sitting down. I wish they had some sort of notification for that. Other than that no complains on the food. Honey chicken had a nice kick to it and Teriyaki was flavorful. The location is filled with college students being so closed to student housing, chill good place to hangout and catchup with friends.

American roll

American roll was tasty and a Vento box chicken Service was good, ambience was quite and relaxed

Shocked and disappointed! You tell me if this is a fair exchange.. I paid $8.50 plus tax for this yellowtail cut roll and they have the nerve to put 50% off the price. That's right, it shows $16.99 on the menu, a 50% discount.. WTF! I placed my thumb over three of the six rolls I received to give a scale of just how small these rolls are .. and look at how little fish are in the roll. This place is a complete sham and money grab .. with below average freshness expectation

Salad from the first visit

I would like to give this place a 2.75 stars. Not quite 3 and not quite 2. My reason being is that it seems like a hit or miss. The first time I went to this place was on 9/26/25- (first photo) I got the bento box lunch special which contained, teriyaki chicken, popcorn chicken, cucumbers, rice, and a salad. I didn't have high hopes, but, it was pretty decent. Enough for me to go back at least, but not too soon as their prices are a bit high for a lunch special, but they do give you a lot of food like a dinner plate. I went back today 10/29/25, almost a month later, & let's say I won't be back for a while. The food seemed to be okay, but t for whatever reason, I receieved some old ass salad. I'm pregnant, & I was really looking forward to eating this salad, but instead, tossed the whole thing in the trash. I wondered why they would serve it, it's clearly turning brown (check the photo). & not only that, lettuce is cheaper than almost anything in this bento box!! Why cheap out on it? If we could pay these places by how their food tasted, I'm sure it would be a hit everytime, & that's how they should prepare every plate/meal served to their customers.

Kilamanjaro

This review is based off to-go only. It's been a while since I had bento box but was craving for some sushi. I ended up ordering 4 different sushi for myself! It took me few meals to finish them all lol. I ordered Kilamanjaro, Lake Tahoe, Fireworks and Cali-Fry. To be honest, they were all pretty similar to one another. Have almost the same ingredients. The rolls were pretty big. Tons of rice though. Overall, I enjoyed the all the rolls. I learned my lesson, no more being greedy for ordering so much as once. I was sick and tired of sushi after the 3rd meal lol

(6pc) Gyoza (Potstickers)and Chicken Teriyaki BB
Joey N.

Bento Box offers decent teriyaki bento boxes. Decent amount of foods, but I felt like the flavor was a bit lacking from the chicken. It wasn't super special and the teriyaki sauce came to the rescue. The pickled cucumbers didn't fit my taste as much, but they're a nice addition to the plate. I think next time I head here for lunch, I'll try different bento boxes to see which one may be better. Gyoza was great! I like the crunch and filling, good appetizier that I would get again.

Served with wasabi and accoutrement. - This took forever to come out. When she finally served it to us, it was warm. Sushi rice had a good texture but the fish was warm. We sat at the bar area so, we didn't see how it was being made. My husband and I thought they probably forgot about our order and was sitting out for awhile. Disappointed but since we were happy with the other dishes, it was no big deal. I had an Orion Beer. Butterr-y tuna. Different textures bursting with different flavors. Drank the leftover sauce! Lol. Tuna seemed fresh. Ngiri Mix $48+ (2 Orders) - We decided to give this another try. This time they sat us where all the chefs were making the dishes, so I finally saw how they make ngiri. There is 1 guy who makes it and I didn't like how he would make the ngiris but was not served asap. He would make about 3 sets at a time or some thing like that. The time from when it's made and time where it's served is too long. That is why the fish is warm by the time it got to us. Also, we didn't see a fridge where he was making it but it could be underneath around his leg area. I'm a little disappointed. From all the sushi documentary's I've watched, this is not how it's suppose to be. I regret ordering the Ngiri Mix again cause the fish was warm. Same like last time! I read other reviews where people have said the quality is going down. Even though, I am not a regular here, I can kinda tell that it is. My favorite are ngiri's and it doesn't beat Kura's ngiri's right now. Kru just give's bigger portions but the quality of Kura's is superb! Shiozake Salmon $26+ Springtime congee, furikake, truffled English peas, basil oil, and pickled radish. - DELICIOUS. Crispy salmon skin, tender and butter-y salmon, congee does have a springtime taste and is the perfect texture. Every ingredient complimented each other. Would love to squeeze a little lemon to cut out the fatty taste at the end. From our experience, all the specials have been a hit! Ibérico Kashira Kushiyaki $16+ Den miso tare, basil-mint pistou, grilled lemon - SO-SO. Pork was tender but was wayyy too salty. Kru's ambiance is dark, chill environment with lights shining down on where it matters like the food and selfie pics lol. It can get loud when it get's busy. Mos def chiq and aesthically pleasing. Every little detail from the ceiling to the floor, table setting, mural, bathroom, and even menus were all BEAUTIFUL! SPECIAL SHOUT OUT: To all the resto staff that helped us for both nights. You guys are amazing! Friendly, awesome smiles and knowledgeable. Thank you for your top notch hospitality. Our server from our recent dine in gave us a complimentary drink to toast for our Wedding Anniversary: 1 non alcohol rosé for me and I forgot the other drink he gave for my husband. VERY SWEET OF HIM.. much love.. Grateful for our food and for every one. More blessings and abundance for all of us. Happy Eat's ya'll =)

I tried their sukiyaki set, both wagyu and seafood. I wish they had given some instructions on the approach or order I should eat the sets of food. It was a little chaotic trying to figure out how I could submerge all the ingredients in the broth so they would cook evenly. The tempura is perfectly crispy, but the rice was a little brittle and got dried really fast. The texture was more like Vietnamese broken rice, and it caught me off guard because when I tried their sushi a while ago, they used very high-quality rice. As is typical with sukiyaki, the broth becomes very flavorful at the end, absorbing all the flavors from high-quality ingredients, but my udon got a little dry while waiting. Since I tried both set, the wagyu sukiyaki broth became a little too sweet at the end. My favorite is definitely the seafood sukiyaki broth. Would I try these pricy sukiyaki again? Probably not. Would I go back to Azayaka again? 100%. This would not discourage me from going back there any amount.

Daughter ordered the ramen ($18) with the red option, which she enjoyed with the plethora of toppings. Dinner the second time, I got the teishoku set with salmon ($21). Two decently filets of salmon came with rice, miso soup, salad, deep fried egg roll and salad. You also get a choice of either croquette or chawanmushi. The chawanmushi was a highlight for me! Since that visit I have returned three different times, always bringing someone different to show off this excellent restaurant find located near 73rd and Stockton Blvd Engawa Fusion is such a special place-this restaurant is over 30 minutes from my house in Natomas in traffic ,yet that never stops me from trekking my way across Sacramento-I love this place that much. On this particular visit we started with 2 different sushi tacos-We had the tuna version and the salmon version-each priced at $11.00. Now I could write a novel explaining the virtues of these culinary creations but I will keep it short-the tuna and the salmon tacos are such the perfect bite-well balanced-well seasoned-surprisingly heavy in the hand while being light to the taste-it's truly been my favorite new food item discovery of 2026. Next we went with the Stir-Fry Udon and this cost us $16.00. I've described this dish in the past as a dish I could eat every day of my life and would be a very happy person. The flavor and seasonings are flawless, the noodles are cooked perfectly, great chew-a very slurpable noodle for sure. I can easily see why this dish is such a popular item on their menu. This restaurant was given a spot on Yelps Top 100 Places to eat in 2025-nothing in this visit did a thing to show that honor wasn't well deserved. In closing-I don't know if I could recommend this spot any higher and I plan many future visits whenever I want to show people how amazing the culinary experience in Sacramento has truly become. 10/10 experience. PS-Parking could be a bit of a challenge as they share a lot with an auto shop but all of my visits I was able to secure a spot-I am sure you will as wel
