The rolls were flavorful and well-made, with a noticeable focus on sauces. They do tend to go heavier on the sauce, so if you like your sushi rich and packed with flavor, you'll probably enjoy it. Looking for a sushi bar near me so this was a couple miles down the road came by to give it a try. Very busy place, clean, nicely and has my favorite with the sushi bar in the middle of the room so you can see the chefs in the fish and you can see the cuts of fish to choose from. So I sat at the bar alone, which is what I like to do, ordered me a Sapporo and started with the three-piece three fish sashimi. Super fresh, melt in your mouth, just exactly what I was looking for. I was craving tempura vegetables, but I knew if I ordered it it would probably be a huge dish. so I asked my server Alexandra and she confirmed it was pretty big so I passed and I'm glad I did. Only because I ordered the tuna Trio roll, which was super rich, full of fish, had crunch, and the last piece had tempura shrimp sticking out, but what a fabulous roll. So many choices on the menu to choose from it's always difficult for me to find one that's most all raw fish, maybe some avocado, a little cream, cheese, cucumber all the things that combine with tuna and salmon for flavor balm. The texture was amazing and another decision that was exactly what I was looking for, and I was stuffed. I have been here on and off for so many years. The service is always 5-5 I love the look of the inside it's great for just a day/night out or special event. I have family delivered on one side of town. I lived on the other so we decided we're gonna meet in the middle and I always have loved it here. Food is just so good cost is great as well and it's just so well lit inside, but not overly bright I seen that somebody had got the barbecue albacore last time I was here and I told myself I was definitely gonna have to order it. The rolls had a different kind of sauce on them I never tasted before they was fresh but I should've asked about the sauce on top. Everything was good the sauce totally made it taste a lot different. We came here with a larger group for our friend's birthday. They don't take reservations, but our friend arrived early and let them know how many people we'd have in our party and as our group arrived we waited in the front until they had seating for us. We had about 16 in our group and we ended up on a back wall all in a row. The staff was friendly and got us all water to start and then we places our orders. They were able to split the check up to 6 or 8 times- four of us at our table put our orders on the same tab to make it easier for others in the group to split. They offer a lot of different things on the menu and advertise all rolls are 50% off. It's interesting that they always offer 50% off rolls instead of just showing what the "special" price is and the only thing I can think of is that they want customers to know it's still quality sushi- so even though it's a $15 roll after the 50% off it's worth $30. I ended up ordering the Shrek roll ($11.75 after discount) and the Pretty Coconut ($11.25 after discount), my husband got the bento box ($25.50) and then we shared chicken karaage with the table ($12.50). The appetizer was a generous size, very shareable with four people. The sauce that came with it was also delicious. The chicken itself was flavorful and could even make a nice meal on its own. The bento box was a great deal, it came with salad, miso soup, and three items from a highlighted menu. My husband opted for the ton katsu, sashimi and albacore sushi. He ended up sharing his salad with me and was still really full afterward. The Shrek roll was super unique, it had spicy crab, spicy tuna, soft shell crab, avocado, garlic pesto, unagi and special sauce. I loved the use of garlic pesto and I would definitely order this one again. The Pretty Coconut roll had deep fried shrimp, crab meat, avocado, eel, coconut, special sauce and unagi sauce. This roll was also really tasty and I enjoyed the addition of coconut. The food was great, but wish they had given us pitchers of water. Early on they refilled our water but towards the middle and end we had empty water glasses. I ended up stealing my husband's water since he had beer. As the night went on they got busier and it was definitely a spot for all types of groups. Friends, dates, families and celebrations like ours. We have gone to this sushi restaurant multiple times over the last 10 years. They are in the Arden area and have 50% off a lot of their rolls which makes it a good deal which is why we stop by when we're in the area usually going to the mall. Inside the restaurant, it's always a dim lighting and there's a lot of seating for all different sizes of parties and there's TVs and the sushi bar is right in the middle and it is really cute inside and the staff are always friendly. I wish I could give this rating a 3.5 but I can't do that so for now I'm going to go with the 3 star only because I feel over the years the food just either isn't as good or the rolls have so much inside of them that they are huge and they fall apart, and I can't fit even one roll inside of my mouth. we've tried a lot of the different appetizers and some are good. Most recently we had stuffed jalapeños that were supposed to be deep-fried, but the jalapeños weren't really cooked at all and still very crunchy. And the cream cheese filling tasted just like that, no other flavor. Also, we've started going to a lot of other sushi restaurants and have experienced a lot of other different locations so this being one of the first places we used to go to that could play a factor. I still would recommend trying this place out. They have so many different roles that it's quite possible and one of them could be one that you really enjoy! We were excited to try arigato sushi for the first time, we were seated immediately our server did come over and introduced himself. My friend said she will like lemon with her water and he'll be back shortly to take our order. He took closer to 25 minutes to come back and then he took our order incorrectly. We also didn't get any refills for our water. After back to back mistake we were over it. Maybe don't give servers a lot of tables if they aren't able to handle it I understand that restaurants can have off nights, and the staff may have been overwhelmed, but the lack of follow-up or acknowledgment made it hard to overlook. BF ordered some spicy rolls, TNT and FIREFLY. I really appreciate the perfect temperature of each dish. Service is as fast as can be. Seating for 2 is usually no wait. Deducted a star for the rib eye which was chewy gristle. So this time around I opted for the chicken breast - Combo meals come with a salad, soup and rice so it's worth the price of $22. We also ordered hot green tea, no sweetener although they include it on the side. This was hot af so be careful handling this. Service was almost non existent. Usually service is ok here, the restaurant was not busy at all. We were seated, waited 20 minutes to take our order. Placed the order and a couple of guys were seated beside us, they waited 20 minutes also and were never given a chance to order. Not once did the waiter even come by or give them any water. In the world of sushi, Arigato is not at the top, but overall, as a Japanese restaurant, it's not bad. They are known for their half off sushi rolls and fun atmosphere. We came on a Friday evening and staff wouldn't seat us until majority of our party was here. Once seated, we ordered appetizers of BBQ Albacore ($21), Spicy Edamame ($8.95), Gyoza ($8.95), and Garlic Salmon ($21). I enjoyed the flavor of the spicy edamame and the gyoza was good. The BBQ Albacore was pretty good with the special sauce and the garlic salmon was the best. The garlic salmon was served on top of guacamole and would have been better served with some chips. For sushi rolls, we tried the Lucky 7 ($11.75), the Lion King ($10.75), the Galleria ($11.48), and the Shrek ($11.75). The prices I wrote are the half off price. To me, the rolls that had more raw fish were more enjoyable - Galleria and Lucky 7. Actually, all of the rolls were more or less good, but didn't stand out as exceptional. We also ordered the Beef Udon ($18.95), but it was not a lot of noodles for the price. We asked to order additional noodles for the udon, but management denied our request. We also ordered some Bento boxes and mochi ice cream for the kids, which they seemed to enjoy. Our server was really nice and provided great service. Although the fish isn't the best quality for sushi, the rolls are okay and not too expensive. Arigato is a good place for inexpensive sushi rolls and late night eats. read more

When I lived in this area, I was within one mile of "Arigato Sushi". And considering the sushi fanatic that I am, that can do some serious damage to my wallet. However, I now live in the suburbs and have only frequented this place a couple of times in the past 10 years (as of 2023). So why not give them a new review as well as my most recent experience at one of the most consistently delicious sushi restaurants in the Sacramento area. Located directly on busy Howe Ave. and just a little bit south of Arden Way in the heart of the Arden/Arcade neighborhood of Sacramento, Arigato (which means "thank you" in Japanese), has been running strong in this area dating back to the early 2000's. Much of the demographics here are predominantly a younger clientele as well as quite a bit of Sac State students and people visiting around the Arden Fair Mall (which is just a few short blocks away). During my most recent visit which was on the afternoon of Sunday 9/3/2023 at around 4:15pm. This parking lot has always been convenient but can get quite full during the busier nights and weekends. There is no outdoor seating but this place does house a fairly spacious inside dining area. From the outside looking in, you can't see anything with the heavily tinted windows. But once inside, this place has a very modern look to it with numerous changes and upgrades over the years. One thing that this restaurant has always offered (which is the case for other sushi restaurants) is that all of their rolls are 50% off. I've always seen this as a trick to get you to order since many sushi rolls are around the $20 price range (bringing it down to $10) but still far less than some of their competitors; mainly "Mikuni" which charges a few bucks more. Aside from that, this place carries quite a bit of non-sushi items, and a full alcohol lineup including beer, sake, wine, and spirits. I ended up ordering a couple of appetizers, "Steamed Edamame" and "Steamed Gyoza" and for my rolls of choice, I went with the "Chicken Teri Roll" (chicken, avocado, cucumber, & Unagi sauce) and the "Fair Oaks Roll" (deep-fried shrimp, avocado, Unagi sauce, & masago). Service is quick and attentive while my server made sure my iced water was always topped off. The appetizers arrived in just a few minutes while the sushi was brought to be shortly thereafter. Overall, the taste, consistency, and flavor of everything is above average. I've had some meals in the past where the rice was not moist but for the most part, my experience here has had more positives than negatives. I think what this location has going for it is their generous hours of operation being opened 7 days a week from 11:30am to 10:30pm. I remember in the past when this place was opened past midnight but they've done away with that. They do have two other locations to serve you; in Gold River and Roseville. With that said and done, I am giving the Howe Ave "Arigato Sushi" a respectable four star rating. read more

The "sunomono" was sliced cucumbers & a side of the vinegar mix that I guess Im supposed to mix? I have ordered this before from many places (including here) & have never had it given like this but hey I guess when your order is ready in 8 mins they have to cut corners. We have been coming to Arigatos for decades now- it's one of our favorite spots for sushi rolls. Recently we went for lunch and were charged a group tax of $16.50 in addition to our charge, tax and tip. It was 5 adults and a 1-yr. old in our party. We asked the server and he explained that it's a new charge being added for parties of 6 or more ... we also noticed sushi roll prices increased.
