I guess this place has been around for awhile, but I've only been recently introduce to this deliciousness by my BFF. Our go-to is the spicy chicken and teriyaki pork. HELLA GOOD! Healthy portions--I usually share the chicken with my son, but I think he's going to have to start getting his own plate. I came on a Friday around 12pm and ambiance was quiet as there were no customers, so I was able to place my order quickly. I generally like to order their lunch specials (Monday-Friday, 11am-2:30pm) as they are the best deals. The gentleman who took my order was nice and he was also the cook. While I waited for my order (takeout), a couple more people came in to pick up their takeout orders. Despite being the only one working, he was very efficient. They always provide a decent portion size for the price you pay. They used to have squeeze bottles of teriyaki sauce sitting around so you can add more sauce to your rice or meat, but I haven't seen them in quite some time. They only provide a small container of teriyaki sauce now. Not sure if they will give another one if I asked. They provide consistent quality with their rice plates. My family called in and picked up the order, so this review will be solely based on food quality as I have no info on service or ambiance. I ordered the vegetables with noodles and it included a side of white rice, which I thought was a bit strange, but ate it nonetheless. What I really enjoyed was that the vegetables were cooked just right and the noodles were also perfectly al dente. The way the noodles and vegetables was prepared was a hard 4.8/5 but the flavors were lacking to me. I accepted to have a flavorful noodle dish, but had to not only put on soysauce for flavor, I added more than I would have liked to give it taste. For that reason I give the flavor of the dish 2/5. Been coming here for years, and the food is very good, however, I just had a horrible experience with the rude-as-hell owner and this is not his first 1 star review regarding his lack of decorum. One was just a few days ago. I came in to order the spicy ramen SOUP (to go) with the very polite young man at the counter. I looked to the board to my right and decided to add the vegetable noodles with chicken. There must have been some miscommunication as when I got home I ended up with 3 noodle dishes and no soup. I called, and the polite young man said to come back in and they'd make it right. When I came back there was no one in the place and the owner came out from the back and started yelling at me and said, several times, "you need to say SOUP!!!". He said, "you cost me money!". I tried to explain to him that I DID order the SOUP and added the noodles and he continued to berate me. The poor young kid was obviously uncomfortable and embarrassed and knew it was a miscommunication and apologized profusely. Got off work and had a craving for Asian food. I found this place by searching up local Asian restaurants. I never noticed this place before so I had to try it out. Its a basic hole in the wall restaurant, nothing flashy about it. Its COVID times at the time of this writing so I did appreciate the large hanging plastic cover dividing the kitchen area from the rest of the restaurant. Also, it was takeout only. The staff were nice and took my orders quickly. I was also very happy to see them cooking my meal upon ordering so I knew it would be hot and fresh. I ordered fried gyoza and shrimp tempura as appetizers and a deluxe combination plate with teriyaki beef, shrimp, and spicy chicken. A buddy of mine also ordered a plate of pork teriyaki. The gyoza and shrimp tempura were both very crispy. The tempura was good but I felt that the gyoza had much better flavor, especially when dipped in the accompanying sauce. It was sticky and sweet and just a hint of spice. My combo plate was good for the most part. The shrimp were on the smaller side and depended on the sweet and sticky teriyaki sauce for most of its flavor. The teriyaki beef tasted good but was a bit dry. The spicy chicken was really good. The crispy breading locked in the juiciness of the meat and the spicy sauce was savory and flavorful, not too spicy. My buddy really enjoyed the pork teriyaki and after tasting it, I felt it was the most flavorful of all the dishes. I had a craving for Asian food and I feel like this restaurant really satisfied that craving. It wasn't the most amazing Asian food I've ever had but its filling and delicious. They cook the food upon ordering so its going to be fresh and their teriyaki sauce is really flavorful. I would come back again to satisfy cravings. read more
