Ok- its a Friday and too tired to cook. Walked in to this place and I must say this is our go to Sushi place. I saw the new order portal and I thougth Id try to use it. I didnt do too bad, I struggle in the payment terminal and I was told the payment machine isnt working-the Guy had to help me tap to the back of the tablet, (i love self pay terminal and I know How to tap my card but this one is just not working). We sat at the table waited for over 30 min and then they bagged our food for to go. Maybe the terminal says dine in or pick up but that choice wasnt on there when I ordered. If I was the employee, seeing the customer sat down and settled, I would ask if I meant for dine in? Im so upset, that those cashiers couldnt say anything and it was a big order. read more

I don't know when things changed drastically but it's not the same anymore. It's been months since I've visited them because my last order was so horrible. And I regret it yet again. Correct me if I'm wrong but I've always remembered the Fairfield having thinly sliced cucumber and the jalapeño shooters to have the seeds removed. Anyway today I got my sushi with thick cucumber skin (with black spots) and jalapeños full of veins and seeds. The food was edible but it wasn't the flavorful or neatly plated like it used to be. Seems employees have gotten lazy. They weren't even that busy like they used to be. The cashier didn't have much work to do, she was just on her phone the whole time. We visited Yo Sushi the other night to pick up take out order. I noticed there was no one inside, and (1) couple sitting outside a the bench. I ordered 3 combo (chicken, beef, 2 shrimps Teriyaki , (with portions being extremely small & cost a lot more) and she got Yo Sashimi Combo. The 3 way combo Teriyaki tasted too sweet; she said Yo Sashimi Combo was just ok. We have been going to this restaurant for over 20 years. With the total cost being a few dollars below $50 dollars. We plan on not returning, but pay a few dollars more at the better Japanese Restaurant. read more

Let me start off by saying that, in the many times I've ordered from this Yo Sushi, I've only ever ordered takeout. So, I can't speak to the indoor/sit-down dining experience - though I will definitely say that their dining area is very small, so I'd recommend guests entertain the outdoor seating area as the weather permits. That being said, Yo Sushi Fairfield's food is quite good. Time and time again I get their chirashi, which includes a bowl of soup and salad along with a ton of sashimi and rice, all for $22.95. The quality of their fish is decent, and the price presents a great value - it's why I go here to get my sashimi fix, as most other Japanese places price their chirashi quite a bit higher. The only thing that I'd ever have to complain about is the speed, which can be on the slower side at times. However, I try to remember that I don't know exactly what's going on back there in the kitchen, so I say that pretty lightly. Otherwise, Yo Sushi Fairfield is a very decent choice for some sushi/sashimi at a good price! read more

Lunch outing with a friend this past Friday. She recommended this place and had nice things to say about both the grub and the staff. My friend ordered ahead by phone and our food was ready as promised when we arrived. There wasn't any other customers inside and were able to pick any of the tables we wanted to sit in. I ordered the fire roll (deep fried shrimp, spicy tuna, jalapenos, unagi sauce..forgot what else). I loved it! I honestly was looking for more kick, but, they were out of fire sauce. *Newborn baby cry* I also ordered the cucumber sunomono (a Japanese salad with cucumber). It was refreshing and delicious to eat. I got full off the rolls alone. I didn't get to finish the sunomono...makes for a great left over later on! The grub was fire (see what I did there? Lol), pleasant staff, and a location far from work. They accommodated us so well & gave great recommendations. Their menu is quite large so take your time to read through it all. Not at all what I expected when I walked in! You place your order at the counter. They have a large variety of menu items on menu boards. There's seating for no more than 20 people. The order taker wasn't the friendliest, the experience was equivalent to ordering at a basic fast food counter. The sushi was freshly rolled, but the cucumber they used or rather how it was cut was not appetizing at all. It was Shredded so thin it was mushy. The oil from the unagi on my dragon roll had pooled up on the bottom of my Togo container leaving my rice oily and my roll to break apart. The pork tonkatsu was over, dry and super thin. I was really excited to try this place because it was new in the area. But honestly Idk if it's worth it. It's more on the expensive side for the quality sushi you get. The rolls kept falling apart. The kiosk can be a little difficult to navigate too. At one point we sat waiting for about 20 min for food we thought we'd send in. But it didn't go through. Not to mention, we walked in and stood around for about 15 min waiting for someone to even acknowledge us. And it was by no means busy at that time. The food is okay. There are picnic like tables outside to eat your sushi. The sushi rolls are fresh and delicious. I always end up getting the crab mania. I'll run back to my lion king roll once in awhile, The lemon salmon is refreshing O happy day is great. I haven't gotten a roll yet thar I didn't like.
