The latter was flavorful, but a lot of food and cut into large slices. Def. recommend the food. Their service model is non-traditional. You order using screens at the table, and there are several servers but no one is assigned to your table specifically. Over multiple visits this has led to moments of over-service (being offered water 3 times in 5 minutes, for example), or under-service (running out of napkins and having to flag someone down). Also, the "call staff" feature of the table-side kiosk is limited to requesting the bill. Look forward to returning again soon. Yo Sushi is never a disappointment. Yo Sushi & Ramen in Vacaville exceeded my expectations and delivered exactly what I was craving. This was my first visit, and the first thing I noticed was just how many tempting options were on the menu. Honestly, there wasn't a single thing I didn't want to try. I usually judge a sushi spot by its dragon roll, and this one absolutely delivered. The tempura was warm and crispy, topped with fresh avocado and rich unagi. Best of all, the rolls were the perfect size, so you don't have to unhinge your jaw just to get one piece in your mouth. The Titanic Roll was just as impressive. It came loaded with tamago and finished with a generous layer of cream cheese that brought everything together. These rolls were a little more challenging to pick up, so if your chopstick skills are questionable, ask for a fork. We wrapped things up with the mango mochi ice cream. They offered to top it with whipped cream and chocolate syrup, and naturally I said yes. The mango flavor really shines without being overpowering, and the mochi had that perfect soft, chewy texture instead of the thick, gummy consistency that some places serve. From the quality of the food to the generous portions, this place knocked it out of the park. If you're in Vacaville and craving sushi or ramen, Yo Sushi & Ramen is absolutely worth a visit. This was our 3rd visit. The first 2 times we were here we thought it was pretty good. It's not mind blowing but it is a good meal. The second visit the owner was actually there and asked us if we wanted to try their Japanese curry sauce, which we found to be really good. I guess I misunderstood as I thought she said there were going to be introducing a katsu with the Japanese curry So here we are for the 3rd visit and I see katsu on the menu so I was excited to try it. Well when it came out, there was no Japanese curry. I asked the server and as it turns out the sauce was what they were intending to introduce, the katsu they already had. Well so the sauce would not have made any difference as the katsu was really dry and very overcooked. The bottom was a very dark brown and just about to be black. I should have taken a picture. We also had a titanic roll which my wife thought was good but was just so so for me. Lastly we had the tempura appetizer, which we had the previous times. I do really like this, my only suggestion is to make the pieces a little more manageable. The onion ring and the one piece of broccoli are just way too big in my opinion. The last thing that bummed me out, and is what will probably make me not return. We were seated next to the sushi prep area and under the refrigerated case was tons of crumbs and stuff. We came into Yo Sushi for dinner today a little after 6pm on a Friday. There were a couple larger groups and a couple small groups of customers eating, so we were seated quickly with physical menus (I prefer that over digital menu). Water came out fast. You can order by the tablet or a server can take your order. We decided to order by tablet which is very easy to do. Food: - Bento Box A $19.00 (choose 2 items): Teriyaki Beef and Shrimp Tempura. The beef is a decent quality steak unlike other restaurants that use cheaper cuts of beef. Teriyaki sauce has good flavor and is not too salty or too sweet. Shrimp tempura was a crunchy and decent size. The salad is organic mix greens with their house dressing which tasted good. The bento box also comes with miso soup. Their miso soup is not watered down and had strong miso flavor with bits of tofu, seaweed and green onions. - Bento Box B $19.00 (choose 2 items, 1 item is a sushi roll): Some rolls are extra cost. Teriyaki Beef and Futomaki Roll (+$2.50): The Futomaki is very good, has good amounts of kampyo, shiitake mushroom, sweet egg and other veggies with minimal rice. - Sashimi Trio $23.50 (or roll, nigiri, sashimi): Good portion size with thick cuts of fresh fish sashimi. Met a friend for lunch after shopping in the area. We were greeted upon entry and seated right away. For all we ordered the tempura (I have never seen onion rings that ginormous in my life!). They were out of maguro so they gave us two regular tuna sashimi, which honestly I think they should have either offered a single or another choice and not assumed but it turns out my mom ate them both so it worked out. I attended the Yelp Elite event here and was super impressed. My girlfriend and I came for lunch after our hike at Peña. I was prepared to have the Bento Box since it was a ton of food last time. I was pleasantly surprised to see there was a lunch special price foe $4 less than the dinner price. Unfortunately, when the bento box came, there was no salad. I was so disappointed to find out that the lunch special didn't include the salad or Miso soup. So...it wasn't really a special price; it was less food for less money. It was a big bummer. Though the food was tasty, I probably would have paid more to get the salad and soup if I had known. My girlfriend ordered the Hamachi Kama. It took longer to come to the table than my meal, so I had to start eating before she had her food. She said it was tasty, but there was not much "grilled" flavor. Our servers were very attentive to begin with, but we asked for Sriracha and it took about 5 minutes before we got it. It was kind of weird that it took that long. We thought maybe they had to dig up a condiment packet, but it came out on a little dipping plate. The restaurant is clean and decently busy for 12:45 PM on a Sunday. But the owner was nice enough to make sure that I got my sushi. And I didn't even have to remind her. The hot mama roll was tasty. Even the boys liked it. The wasabi was decorated nicely. But they forgot to pair it with soy sauce. A quick reminder was enough. Tho the sushi was filling and delicious, it is a bit pricey. The tonkatsu ramen however was decently priced. There is a good quantity of noodles and chashu. And at this restaurant, they make the chashu slices slightly crispy which is a nice touch. Though the ramen was lacking a piece of seaweed, yet the portions of the whole bowl was enough to feed a very hungry man or two teenage boys. The tonkatsu broth is very yummy. Tho do not expect ramen broth bits (like shrimp shell, pork bone, bonito flakes, etc) at the botttom of the ramen bowl. That may or may not be a good thing. Up to you! Lastly I ordered a ocha green tea to wash everything down (including fried gyoza). The tea was very aromatic. It's not cheap. But they give you a big nice glass tea pot. Overall a. The only downside for me was the pork slices (I believe it's called chashu). I always pay in cash and don't use credit card so much. I went into the Vacaville Yo sushi for two angry lions to go which came out to 40.1 dollars. I had 61 dollars with me and gave them 41 dollars. I had 20 dollars left and wanted to leave a tip. I asked for change for the twenty so I could leave a tip and they waved a sign in front of me that says they don't make change. The chicken was thick, tender and the breading was thin yet held that nice golden crisp on the chicken! Service was quick, too. There are multiple ways to order: Self kiosk or a human for take out or sit down and order on their touch screen ordering device or a human, too I believe. It's nice that each table is equipped with a self-ordering device because you have a nice visual of the food with the description. Overall, I 100% rec going to Yo Sushi! I was extremely disappointed with this place , expecting it to be good. It was disgusting! I ordered the lunch bento box with beef teriyaki & combo tempura. The beef was all fatty pieces and the tempura was burnt tasting like they used old oil. We ordered this mushroom appetizer call Magic Balls and it came out way after our main food was served. I took one bite and spit it out, it was sour like the mayo in it was spoiled. We ordered 3 sushi rolls which were mediocre , I've had way better. Lastly, the service was terrible. If I hadn't flagged down the waitress to take our order , we would still be sitting there. We weren't checked on and I once again had to flag down the waitress for our bill and a to go box ( which went to my dogs) . The only positive were the hot sake, Sapporo and the music they played. We started miso soup and green tea, which were as expected and a nice way to start off. For rolls, we ordered the baked Lion Prince roll and the Crazy Monkey roll. The Lion Prince was okay but didn't quite hit for us. I'd rate it around a 5.5/10. On the other hand, the Crazy Monkey roll was excellent, easily an 8.5/10, and definitely the highlight. The restaurant itself was clean and not too busy for a Friday, which made for a relaxed dining experience. The staff were very helpful and attentive throughout our visit. One small note: my girlfriend found the music a bit too loud, though it didn't bother me personally. I loved our meal everything was amazing especially the sauce that came with our first roll. It was a ponsu/oil fusion of some sort. Then we ordered the Vacaville roll and the salmon crudo (this is the one with that sauce) keep the plate and use that sauce for the rest of your meals. The price was my only issue.
