We got there 20 min before the kitchen was closing down so got advised by the host/ waitress to get it to go. So we did. Two orders of steak hibachi. This wasn't ur typical hibachi. It was bland overcooked the steak didn't even taste like steak. $36 and didn't even enjoy our meal. Next day nicely go in and talk to the same lady about it , she argues with me and says she isn't sure what she can do cuz it wasn't her mistake. (Although she's in the customer service business) , she was yelling at me , never apologized , I just wanted a refund and we would never be back. Eventually I got HALF the money back. This place is terrific! I'm so surprised they aren't packed at all times. This restaurant is very very affordable, and the food was really good. It's one of those little known, but really awesome restaurants. I'm from Dallas, traveling through Springfield for a family reunion. I looked on Yelp for something close to my hotel, and I found Hibachi Steak & Sushi. There wasn't a lot of info on this place, but I decided to take a shot and try it. When I got there, it seemed small and wasn't busy. I was greeted by my waitress at the door, and she was very nice and helpful. Once I sat down, she got my drink order and gave me enough time to look the menu over. She came back with my drink and I asked her about a few things on the menu. They make their own teriyaki sauce, and their fried rice is already cooked (I wanted it without vegetables, so I got white rice instead). I placed my order (lunch size of Spicy Chicken & Shrimp) and my waitress brought out my salad with an extra side of dressing. The salad and salad dressing are good, and have a tangy taste. Also, my waitress kept my drink from getting below 1/2 full the whole time I was there. When I finished with my salad, my dinner came out piping hot. Since I haven't eaten here before, I took a minute and tried each piece on the plate. I liked all of them (spicy chicken, hibachi shrimp, noodles, vegetables, and rice) and they all had good flavor and texture. None of the food tasted old or chewy. I liked the chicken the most. It had a nice glazed layer on the outside, and the inside was juicy and had great flavor. I've had chicken before with no real taste, but this chicken had really great flavor to it. And the seasoning/sauce they used is good, too. I'm guessing it has some Sriracha in it, but it wasn't overpowering to me. I could've eaten a ton more of this chicken. I also had some hibachi shrimp. The shrimp were good sized, and they did not have an "overly fishy" taste. They seemed fresh to me, and had good flavor. After I finished, the waitress asked if I would like dessert, then ran my credit card. She was quick in everything she did, from my refills to bringing my bill and receipt. My waitress was very nice, friendly, and helpful. She seemed happy to help me with everything I needed. Also, the manager was on hand and paid just the right amount of attention to me. She was also polite and helpful. I just want to convey how good I think this place is. I wish it was closer to my home, so I could come back all the time. I'll be sure to stop in for a meal every time I drive through Springfield. read more

This place is... ok. Salad and miso is very good! But the name Hibachi is very misleading. It's not your typical sit with 8 people around a grill and have someone cook for you. Food was pretty flavorless. Price was comparable to local hibachi like nakato and hinode. Plus sides to this place was the waiter was very fast, no wait to sit down, and the disco lights. read more

Both the fried rice and hibachi veggies appeared to be from a freezer bag and the sushi was distinctly fishy, not in a good way. I'm not sure how this place has 4 stars? The lady and I stopped in for dinner. This place is kind of an alternative to the cram around a grill hibachi experience. You still get the Hibachi food but get to enjoy it casually talking to your friends at your own standard table. Really like this concept. I had shrimp and chicken made spicy and the lady had steak and shrimp classic. Both came with soup, salad, rice, vegetable, noodles, and our mains just like a classic Hibachi place. Prices and portions were spot on too. Our main complaint was the decor. Your not going to wow anyone on a date night. They shine this place up a bit and make it feel a little less thrown together and this place is 4 stars all day. Certainly a win on the food but for the price we should be able to get a little more atmousphere. read more

Great service. One woman usually serves 6 tables better than most people can serve 2. Prices are great. They have my favorite miso in town. All the hibachi options have been top notch. As a side note, I feel like Hinode has gone downhill in recent years. This places doesn't quite have the upsacle vibe of the more popular hibachi locations, but its cheaper, faster, and in most cases, better. Also, their soda fountain is always on point with the Dr. Pepper. read more

One member of our party never received his food, he asked the waitress 3 times if he was going to get his food and after the 3rd time, she said "Oh, did you still want that?". Their steak is absolutely disgusting and their sushi rolls were more expensive than Nakato's rolls and half the size. read more

We love hibachi but it gets very expensive so we thought we would try this place. The food was great and the prices were very reasonable. The service was great and the restaurant was very clean. We all had the chicken lunch special for 7.50 which was a great value and egg rolls as well. Everything was very fresh and very good. My husband had a California roll which he said is one of the best he has ever had and he is a sushi snob. Over all this place was wonderful and we will definitely be back. read more

Probably the worst experience I've ever had at a hibachi restaurant. The service was amazing, but after my food was wrong (not what I ordered) and cooked raw, they wouldn't even fix the issue. When I talked quietly with the server about it (who was mortified that the owners did nothing) I said that I would not be back and the owner still refused to even come to my table and talk to me. We had a great dinner but it was a long one. Arrived at 6:30pm on a Monday night and had to wait about 30 min to be seated. Dinner was awesome! Omar was an excellent chef- food was great! We're from out of town and are no sushi experts. They explained the menu well and adopted it for a shrimp allergy. The service was great. Sushi was great. The chicken yakisoba was average. Salad before was quite good. A few in our group were upset there wasn't a grill to sit around. That was the least of my worries.
