We came to the restaurant for a birthday with a party of 10. We were immediately met with an internal temperature of the restaurant above 80°. We initially believed their AC had stopped working. We learned this was a constant problem the owners refused to resolve. Based on the condition of the restaurant, it is not surprising. They clearly have not spent any money on upkeep. The Kwon family has really let the place fall into disrepair. We will certainly not be back until they make upgrades. The shame is, our waitress Heidi was AMAZING. She made the waiting and sweating worth it. The chef cooked very good food and the manager was responsive and caring. We love the food and the staff...let's hope the Kwons care as much as we do and give their employees and patrons a comfortable restaurant. read more

First time visiting this restaurant and I could have sworn it opened today with all the problems. We had to wait a half hour past our reservation to be seated at a hibachi table with 11 people meant in a side for 8, even though we booked a sushi table. We waited another 10 minutes to be seated at a table with two chairs on one side with our backs being the wall that every server walked by, being bumped multiple times. On the way out of the kitchen, a server dropped a piece of one of the sushi rolls on the floor. They stopped, watched it fall and stop, then kept moving. It was passed sitting on the floor no less than 54 (not an exaggeration, it became a joke the higher we got) times when we stopped counting.It may still in fact be on the floor. We waited another 20 minutes to have a server come by and finally take our drink order. Another 15 to take our food order. While we waited and waited and waited we looked around the dining room and were shocked at how run down this place looked. Dirty walls, holes all over the place, and chipped paint that showed no one truly cared, just like we think the staff acted. The only thing that kept this at a 1 star and not a throw my hands up and quit was the sushi. It was some of the best we have had in Springfield. If I could simply order it to go and eat it in my car, this would be a five star restaurant. Definitely will not be coming back here if we have to dine in. read more

Ordered takeout from here! Got the filet mignon hibachi and caterpillar roll. Roll was fine, very generous portion. Hibachi was okay, I didn't really like the seafood sauce - it didn't taste like anything and the hibachi was dry without it. Comes with fried rice, noodle and veggie as well which was all okay. F. besides not even being able to get a single, one person order right, they can't even make edible food. clearly vegetables that aren't even cooked(hard as a rock especially the broccoli) "pieces" of chicken that are extremely tough to bite through then some that are shredded , shrimp that i don't think was even cooked enough. never got the soup i ordered too. Like in what multiverse am i ok with ordering food, paying for it, and being fine not receiving it or being bad for it...like????? joke of a restaurant and should probably have the health inspector look at this crap. can't get a full refund, horrible place to eat at or get take out. i work in a restaurant and it's actually not hard at all to make decent food!!! or package an order right. wow i know right. I'm visiting Missouri and went here with enthusiastic locals. It was quite busy for a Tuesday evening, so fairly noisy. Our chef was Omar, and he was a delight, laughing with us. His performance seemed natural and his delight genuine. Food is very plentiful, with dinner consisting of clear soup, a small salad, fried rice, noodles, vegetables, the meat ordered, and 2 grilled shrimp "tasters." I brought home enough for another meal. I ordered salmon with chicken. The meat was good quality, but practically overwhelmed with teriyaki sauce. The restaurant is in a strip mall with plenty of parking. read more

My boyfriend and I placed a takeout order and I called it in at 7:04 PM. The woman on the phone told me it would be ready in about 40 minutes. We arrived around that time, and when I checked in at the front, I was not informed that our order wasn't ready -- or even close to being ready. We didn't receive our food until around 9:00 PM. During that time, there were several people coming in and out picking up to-go orders, and the restaurant seemed completely chaotic. If I hadn't already paid nearly $80 for the meal, I would not have waited that long. When we finally got home, all of the food was ice cold. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience, and unfortunately, I won't be returning. read more

We are a clinic that orders from there, our dr pays a lot of money to buy us lunch and have it delivered. Our entire order was a complete mess, they forgot 6 salads, a side of veggies and an entire meal. We had it delivered through GrubHub so we got refunded however when we went in to get the missing items the girls were rude, argued with us and rolled their eyes. Youd think an apology would be the least they could do considering how much our order was. This isnt the first time weve had rude people there( our rep buys us lunch from there as well and also has to go back to get food they have forgotten) but it will absolutely be the last time we order from there again. read more

Went tonight to celebrate my hubby's birthday. Not much of a celebration. We chose to sit in the dine-in area since the show of cooking the food was not important to us. Hubby ordered the HInode Royale which includes lobster, filet mignon and scallops. The plate was not appetizing as it looked like it was filled from a buffet line -- everything piled on top of other items. Recommend they use a larger platter so the food presents better. The lobster was overcooked and rubbery; the filet was very good; the scallops were watery; and, the vegetables were cold. I had two sushi rolls and they were mediocre at best. Service was ok, but when we told the waiter about the unacceptable lobster, he didn't know what to do. The ambiance was good. We won't be returning. Would not recommend. read more

Togo Order: was charged 7 dollars for sauce that comes complimentary with a meal. When I asked about it, I was told "sorry I didn't see you ordered a meal, sauces are only complimentary with meals, not sushi, sides or appetizers." Then was did not offer a refund. It's not the money, but the principle here. Raven, behind the counter, was more interested in her phone. Manager was standing right there and seemed disinterested in correcting the issue. We felt like a burden. Probably won't be back, it's slowly getting worse each visit. This is unfortunate because the food is always top tier. read more

I would consider this an average teppanyaki experience. The food was ok, had the Royale, this is my summary: The lobster was slightly over cooked, and to be honest had to much vein in it. The scallops were a little rubbery, the only saving grace to my meal was the filet. It was cooked perfect and soft as butter. Did not like the pees and carrots added to the rice, and the absence of chicken or shrimp added felt a little cheap. The noodles where just in my opinion spaghetti noodles with soy sauce on them. Not impressed, hard to recommend, not sure I would come back and give them another try. read more

The shot gun special for two they brought the food already cooked from the back, so we didn't get the hibachi experience. The food from the back was cold and looked like it had been sitting back there for over an hour. Ordered take out and they actually sent salad that is not fresh it's rotting! we would have rather had no salad at all as to have been sent home with this quality of food. Great food, and wonderful chef. Brice was incredibly nice and understanding. The AC was out in the building, and all of the staff were working in unbearably high heat, with no fans or accommodations. You could tell they were all very uncomfortable. The staff was incredible despite the circumstances. When asking the manager Lora about the AC, she was very short and unprofessional. She told our whole table that the AC was on and working, and that it was just because of the vent from the flattop, even though our chef informed us the AC was out. She was very rude to both our server and our chef when they mentioned we had complaints as well. After she walked away from our table, she kept staring at all of us and pointing fingers while talking to some other employees at the host stand. That's embarrassing and unprofessional. All of their staff deserves respect, and acceptable working conditions. Very disappointed in her treatment of both her staff and customers. read more

I have been coming here for more than 15 years. NEVER have I had such a bad experience. We were going to leave because they were busy but the said 10 minutes with two tables before us. One table got up as we made our decision to stay at the same time one of the couples was sat at an already clean table. 20 minutes later after another table had been gone for 5+ minutes I ask what was the hold up. I was told there was now just one table in front of us. 20 minutes later after watching 3 people behind the bar doing next to nothing and 2 out of three hostesses doing nothing except refusing to clean the table 15 feet away that we were waiting for someone decided to clean the table. I don't mind to wait and I would not have been back if I had not enjoyed the food in the past but his was absolutely ridiculous. Scared to eat here now. read more

I am very "particular", and to get a 5 star review from me is rare. That is how incredible the experience was. Everything about the experience was incredible. We were greated with a smile and swiftly seated. The server took our drink order promptly. We ordered our food, and the hibachi chef that came out was personable, accommodating, and put on an incredible show. That alone would be at least three stars. But he seasoned the food with garlic butter, teriyaki sauce, and other incredible seasonings. The food alone deserves a 5 star review. This place is our new go-to for hibachi. The best hibachi place in Springfield area! Everytime my kids or friends want hibachi, I take them here. I always get steak and scallop and it is on point!!! Come with a side of soup and the salad are my favorite. The seasoning is good and their portion ain't cheap!! The chef gives a good show and always crack jokes which give the table a big laugh.
