Had a wonderful experience at this place. Ordered the chicken and shrimp hibachi dinner and it was delicious. The chicken, shrimp, rice, noodles, and vegetables were all cooked perfectly and had great flavor. Portions were large, and I must admit I am looking forward to eating my leftovers in an hour or two. The service was friendly and freaky fast. Only thing lacking is a bit of ambiance. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the mood for a good hibachi dinner. We usually have pretty good luck picking out sushi spots in rural/off the main road spots. Places that you would just shrug off and give a hard pass on the sushi in... Today I about threw in the towel here in Springfield MO and said... "Nope. Not here." From the outside, and somewhat from the inside too, Misaki (formerly Little Tokyo) was a literal hole in the wall. I don't mind rolling the dice now and then, but this place screamed.... "Food poisoning!" The place was pretty empty at about 545 pm. The floor was kind of sticky. It looked like everyone else was ordering the hibachi style items... But the recent Yelp reviews were pretty good. Service was great and as it turned out.... So were the sushi rolls. Fried crispy roll Spicy jalapeño roll Crab rangoon roll Hot Springfield roll Cadillac roll A little heavy handed on the sauces, but the freshness of the rice, vegetables, cream cheese, seafood etc. still came through. I absolutely LOVED the spicy jalapeño roll! Glad I didn't cut and run. You can't always judge a book by the cover.... Especially when it comes to food! Updating review. They've changed their name to Misaki. Nothing else has seemed to change. Still our favorite Japanese restaurant in Springfield. Reasonable prices with generous portions. Menu items are same-- with exception of price increases for inflation. Friendly staff with efficient service. Sushi is best in town and delicious. Dine in, drive through, and carry out available. This is my favorite sushi place! The recipes are wonderful, they don't take very long, and they're all very sweet. I am obsessed with their crab Rangoon roll and seaweed salad, but all of their sushi is wonderful! I'm excited to try new things on their menu, but for now the crab Rangoon roll and seaweed salad is a Friday night to go staple for a very fair price! :) read more

This is a nice gem of a restaurant. A friend and I attended their lunch time serving during the week. The building is old and unassuming from the outside. Inside the restaurant the setting is clean and decorated nicelyin Japanese decor. Our server was most polite and helpful in ordering and service. I ordered the Hibachi chicken. It came with vegetables, fried rice, noodles and a side salad. The food tasted as good, if not better, than some high end Japanese restaurants in town. We shared a Rainbow sushi roll. I went here tonight through the drive through and the building and everything around it is run down and in bad repair. If it's this bad outside and this dirty I can't imagine it's clean inside. The service is never overly friendly but tonight it was ridiculous. I ordered at the drive through window and when I got to the pickup/pay window I repeated my order 3-4 more times. I didn't have substitutions, a long complicated order, nothing added or subtracted. I ordered one sushi roll, 2 meals and 2 waters. No big deal though I'm patient and not hangry. I get my order and pull it out to eat the sushi. Unfortunately I ordered a fried Philly roll and got a regular roll. I knew that I wouldn't eat it and knew I had ordered it off the "Fried" section. Not knowing whether or not there was another Philly roll in another section I went back through the drive thru to look. The only one I saw was the one under the fried section I pulled around and asked if I could get it fried. The man told me it would be more money for it fried. I said that was fine and when he gave me the total I gave him cash. The whole time he kept berating me saying how the lady that was at the window asked me twice if I wanted it fried. Mind you he was at the window with her and was the one asking me to repeat my order multiple times. I told him if she asked I couldn't understand her. I know she told me the water was .50 each and I told her that was fine. He continued to talk to me like I was a piece of garbage while they were frying the roll and I sat there. I'm a pretty patient person and have managed restaurants and I can tell you that I would NEVER treat a customer or an employee at a restaurant like that. I don't know if they had a bad day or what but I ended up leaving the paid for roll and driving off. I won't be back. read more

Inexpensive but tasty, can get hibachi for under $10! The sushi is really good, and the staff is very friendly and efficient. Can also get bigger meals for more money, they have shrimp dim sum, and gyoza apps, soups, and soba noodles etc. Highly recommended. read more

The Spicy Scallop Sushi was surprisingly good. The seaweed wrapper was crisp and fresh unlike the soggy, limp seaweed you often get at sushi restaurants. Little Tokyo is one of my favorite hidden gems of Springfield. Little Tokyo has been a childhood favorite of mine ever since I played baseball at Cooper Stadium and would eat here after. Now I work near this location and come here a minimum of once a week every Friday. Little Tokyo has great service. Van is a great server and always stays on top of my refills and asks me how I'm doing. They bring your food out fast so if you're in a rush no need to worry. The food comes out hot and fresh just the way you like it to spice up a rough work day. Food is an excellent quality. Comparable to the quality of a live chef hibachi meal but at a fraction of the cost. They bring you enough food to fill up one big eater or enough for an average person to make two meals out of. The best part? The salad bar. Simple yet delicious. Little Tokyo's salad bar is Springfield's best kept secret. I stayed at Motel around this place. Only place really within walking distance. When I walked in very nice upscale decorating. They had several several grills in this restaurant. I thought very impressive looking. Neat & clean!!! Waitress I had was being trained in. Her trainer was very nice & patient with her. She will be an outstanding waitress once trained. I felt I tipped well to give the young girl encouragement. She was attentive & very pleasant!!! Everyone just has to remember what it was like being a trainee. So many things to remember at once! In other words be kind & patient when someone is being trained. The chef he cooked to perfection! I was fortunate enough to be seated with dining experts. This was their favorite place. The lady stated that they had their wedding reception here also. This was my first time at Hibachi grill. Everyone was so helpful & friendly. Long time customer, frequently used to dine-in or would pick up food to-go after calling in a pickup order. However after tonight, not certain we will be back - which is pretty upsetting as this is my favorite place for sushi. We called in an order for pickup ahead of time, was told our wait time and then headed over around the given time. We ended up having to wait an ANOTHER 40 MINUTES, watching people who arrived and ordered after us get much more food than us (we ordered two sushi rolls). The son came out and said "my dad is crazy, your rolls are sitting right there ready to be made but he keeps making other orders and food". My husband used to work at the restaurant and after what the son said, we are sure that the owner decided that we would be fine waiting for our food - despite the fact that we are still paying customers! Extremely upsetting experience to be just disregarded and pushed off. Ended up having to ask for a refund to leave considering they hadn't even started on our order after over a HOUR. read more
