I'm usually a 5 star kinda guy... So I think I might have set my expectations too high. But what can you expect for a random Asian restaurant in Placerville. OK, the redeeming factors here are the service and staff. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating that I wouldnt have minded the food. But service was also pretty fast.. So after hitting that Davis traffic up here, I was just ready to eat. Ambiance is a meh... Can't complain, place was clean, and organized. Restrooms were clean also and did the job. As for the food... It's great for a quick fix... If you're hungry, these dishes are massive for what it's worth. I wanted to try the seafood rice roll and it was an interesting take. I was confused but amused by this attempt. A lot of shrimp... But I read in the reviews some had scallops as well?? Not mine. My issue is we also ordered the noodles and it all tasted the same. Maybe that might away my review up a star or few. But by the time I got through leftovers, it was a lot of the same thing... Keeping this review for now...but I'm always open for second chances. read more

5/20/2025: Teriyaki Junction--SEAFOOD inhalation times three meals~LOL! Unfortunately, TJ ran out of scallops for seafood menu items and no regular sugar packets provided, either--WAAAAAAAH! Seafood was egregiously BLAND . . . I must doctor meal upon the inhalation session commencing at my humble abode! Teriyaki Junction Delicious here, and they are always open when they say they're gonna be open. Unlike some other places that I won't mention, their hours are accurate. Their neighbor who serves similar foods, which I was going to frequent today, can't get their act together. I purchased two combo # 2 and they were yummy. My friend and I enjoyed every bite. Wow! What happened to customer service??? I just called at 6:40pm and the guy that answered, picks and says 'hello?' No business name,just hello. I had to ask if it was Teriyaki Junction and he says 'yeah, can I get you something?' Bad start in conversation. I said one it item and he goes', is that it? I said the second item then I just got a bad impression and I just canceled because of lack of customer service communication skills! He really didn't want to take my order. Came here because my daughter wanted sushi. $6 for a California roll 6 piece ($1 a piece) okay little high but maybe it's good. I ordered the sushi combo, my total came to $29.99. I'm thinking dang, $23 for a plate of sushi. That's a lot. We get our food. The California roll looks as you'd think. But honestly I'm very disappointed in the amount and quality of the food. This was not worth $23, raleys and Safeway makes better sushi with much more flavor. Disappointed to say the least but at least our tummies are full. read more

I placed an order thru door dash. I got a bento box which advertised the fish was "grilled" and came with rice, salad and Vegetable tempura. Not only did I not get any tempura but the fish was NOT grilled. It looked like it was steamed with no seasoning whatsoever. It was NASTY. When I called to complain they said the Managua's gone home but he would call me the next day. They took my info. Not only did he or she NOT call me the next day but not the day after. Staff was nice. Place was clean and easy to find. Food was delicious. Sesame chicken was nice and crispy with a nice sauce. Rice was spectacular and absolutely deliciously. gyoza was average, and the california roll was actually quite good! One of the better cali rolls i've ever eaten. Salad was okay. I was so sad to get food that was over cooked and weird. My husband and I ordered the Combo plates with beef teriyaki and we were so excited. We moved here 10 months ago and we have been trying to have good sushi and teriyaki in Placerville. Honestly, we were in a hurry tonight and we're hoping for the best but truly let down by the overcooked Gyoza and the beef teriyaki that had a thick sauce and weird flavor. I don't suggest any of these items. The California rolls were basic but at least they tasted good. It sucks because eating out is EXPENSIVE anywhere you go these days so eating for two being $40 you want it to be good. This was not.....maybe there is something else on the menu that's delicious and we missed it but I do not suggest anything with the beef teriyaki or the gyozas. read more

Stopped here on the way to the Bay Area from Tahoe. We called ahead and ordered chicken teriyaki with broccoli and brown rice, my husband ordered a biminbap bowl with extra meat. Food was ready just a few moments after we arrived, perfect timing. My chicken teriyaki was good, chicken seemed good quality, broccoli was cooked well. My only issue was that it appeared as though they poured a little too much teriyaki sauce on top of everything. Most of the rice was overly saturated with teriyaki sauce, which ruined most of the rice for me. My husband's biminbap had plenty of meat, however it was COLD while my chicken was warm. The meat in his dish was also quite tough. He said his meal was forgettable but he saw some chicken katsu getting cut up which he said looked appealing. Chicken Bowl and FitBowl are 5/5. That being said I have NOT explored their beef or fish options. Its a great tasting chicken and rice combo with sweet teriyaki. The fit bowl includes brocoli for an extra $2 dollarish and brown rice which makes it the perfect post-workout meal. It WILL fill you up, yet still feel quite healty and light enough to enjoy the rest of your day without feeling sluggish. The owner is quite nice and willing to accomodate your requests. Lets be honest and clear, this isn't a high end joint, its a small mom & pop lunch kind of place. Don't ding this place if compared to a full service restaurant. Really good food with not too much oil! I prefer Japanese food to Chinese. I have the seafood combo every time we go. My husband has #1 Combo which has chicken, beef and pork. Plenty of food is served and you can eat in or take out. Beer and wine is available, as well as water and soft drinks. Customer service is always great! Honestly, this place has gone down hill in recent years. Stopped in with a friend to get something to eat got a seafood combo and a combo #1. The combo #1 started out pretty good a little dry with the meats but that happens. The pork was so dry I could barely swallow it even with sauce. I hand to throw it away. The seafood combo my friend got was terrible. The prawns were way over breaded and the white fish was like eating fish flavored rubber. She had me try it and I threw up into my napkin. Literally. And the salmon was inedible. Honestly teriyaki junction is overhyped and overpriced for what you ultimately end up getting.
