Dinner Bento Box
Elizabeth T.

I was excited to try out this spot, but unfortunately I had a negative experience with the staff. I called and ordered at 4:30 and was told my two items would take 15-20 minutes. I arrived 15 minutes later and the hostess proceeded to tell me that they had not even started and that I called only 5 minutes ago which was not true. I am disappointed she did not just apologize and instead her response was rude/untrue and I ended up waiting 40 minutes from the call time. It's unfortunate because these two bentos were solid, but I am not sure I will be back due to my experience.

Very nice people, they are very aware of the customers needs and pretty quick. The atmosphere is relaxing. The bathroom signs are funny. The food is really yummy. Every thing I've tried so far!

New Management [Cameron Park CA] They had just opened for dinner hours when we walked in. The restaurant is small and intimate and we were welcomed with that familiar "Irasshaimase" greeting. We were led to a seating towards the back. Very friendly customer service. We ordered a couple of bento boxes and Mom had the single entree of Shrimp Tempura. Dinner Bento Box is a choice of 3 items and I chose beef teriyaki, salmon teriyaki, mixed tempura. Everything was delicious especially the salad... they were generous on the dressing and it wasn't like just eating leaves LoL! So good! The miso soup was hot and delicious with lots of tofu. The beef teriyaki was soft and tender and the marinated meat was so tasty and flavorful. I got so full from the salad (I ate my hubby's portion too) I couldn't even touch my salmon teriyaki. I could barely finish my mixed tempura... the crispy batter was good. So glad we discovered this place located in the Goldorado Shopping Center in Cameron Park. The restaurant is under new management only on their 3rd week. It was easy to find off Highway 50. Won't be our last here... Review #3445

Spider hand roll
Loren P.

A hankering for Japanese food brought me to Yuki Sushi Bar since I was getting my car serviced that same day in the area. I was originally drawn to the good reviews and wanted to see for myself if they rung true. Yuki is a tiny restaurant with limited seating, but very clean and quiet. I was greeted warmly by the staff upon entering and quickly ushered to a table. The AC was blasting and it was nice and chilly. Before I arrived, I was browsing their website and noticed that they offered 50% off rolls (besides their special rolls) all day every day. This definitely caught my attention and I wanted to try one of their hand rolls. I also wanted to have a lunch bento box. As I already knew what I was going to choose, I quickly flagged down my server and placed my order. I chose the spider hand roll and the lunch bento with salmon nigiri and salmon teriyaki. For my first experience at Yuki, this myriad of choices would give me a good idea on the quality of their ingredients and freshness of the raw fish, as well as the flavor of their grilled meats (in this case, salmon). My miso soup arrived promptly, and I loved the strong flavor of the miso. The soup was piping hot and came with the most adorable little cubes of tofu. I didn't see any seaweed in my miso soup but that's just my personal preference to have seaweed. My hand roll arrived next, and I was happy to note that it was well-stuffed. The spider hand roll comes with soft-shell crab, and they didn't skimp on the meat portion. Everything in the hand roll was very well-balanced and delicious. I pretty much scarfed my hand roll down, it was so good. Finally my lunch bento arrived, and I was excited to dig in. I was pretty hungry and the first thing I noticed was the size of the salad compared to the size of the rice. Personally, I felt like it was a bit disproportionate. Don't get me wrong, the salad was super fresh and all the leaves were coated in the dressing evenly, but I wish I had gotten more rice. If I hadn't gotten the hand roll I would still have been hungry after finishing my bento box. The salmon nigiri was very good. There was no fishiness in the meat and it practically melted in my mouth. The salmon teriyaki was juicy and had a lovely charred flavor. No complaints for those two items. Everything was delightful. To reiterate, I wish I had received more rice with my lunch bento, but I was still very pleased with my lunch, and the quality of the sashimi and other ingredients was excellent, especially for a land-locked town. With tax and tip, it was around $30 for my meal and I would be happy to pay for another dining experience at Yuki Sushi Bar. I will return with my husband next time so we can try a wider variety of rolls!

Still So Good -- Definitely Not Costco-Level! This was my second visit, and I still absolutely love it. The food comes out fast, everything is fresh, and you can really taste the quality. I saw someone say it's like Costco food -- I honestly don't agree at all. This place puts real care into what they serve. Even the salad dressing tastes homemade -- my daughter usually avoids salad, but she finished the whole plate! I also really loved the tofu miso soup. It's flavorful and comforting, but not too salty -- we didn't feel thirsty after drinking it, which says a lot about the ingredients they use. If you want a cooler spot, try sitting a bit further inside away from the main door. The staff are super friendly, and the place has a calm, welcoming vibe. It's quickly become one of my favorite spots. Highly recommend!

I went today for the first time and i loved it! The food was so delicious!! It came out so fast and the lady who served us was very kind. The overall vibe of the restaurant was fun too, they had bathrooms, a nice seating area, and not too loud music. I would say this is my favorite sushi place!

Spicy ramen

I've been wanting to try this place for a while and finally ordered ramen for delivery. The spicy ramen was amazing and is now my go-to for cold winter days. The flavor was rich and comforting, with just the right amount of heat. Since I ordered through DoorDash I can't speak to the atmosphere or service yet, but I'll definitely be going back to try more items. Such a hidden gem in Cameron Park!

Phili roll with sliced lemon on top.

Always friendly service and clean. Rolls seem extra big and fresh. Price is good and their iced tea is the best. The only thing is that when I dine alone I like to sit at the sushi bar. But it's always so crowded with items, I can't see over and chat. Would recommend and I'll visit again.

Started to be a cold day, but it was nice and warm in restaurant. They took my order right away, and drinks were provided quickly. The rice portion was small, but taste of the food was wonderful.

思美

My family and I were looking for a good place for our Sunday dinner at Cameron Park, so we decided to visit this sushi restaurant, and it exceeded our expectations!!The interior decor is elegant and although the space is small, the ambiance is delightful. The staff were incredibly warm providing meticulous service throughout our meal. Despite the restaurant being busy, the quality of the dishes remained top-notch, with no signs of rushed or subpar preparation. The cost was quite affordable because of the 50%off discount. My favorite were the "Flying Tiger" ,which featured lemon slices, salmon and cilantro, giving it a refreshing and unique flavor; and the "Pepper Fin", which the fish tasted so fresh and delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely come back in the future.

I also loved the coffee bar, and the food itself was genuinely very good. That said, the ordering system really took away from the experience. Having to stand in one long line for drinks and another line for food just feels frustrating and inefficient, especially on a busy holiday like Mother's Day. It honestly felt more like serving yourself than dining out, yet the payment screen still pushes 18-25% tips. Mother's Day especially needed much better signage, more organization, and additional registers open. The lines were extremely long and moved painfully slow just to place an order. I really do love the concept and the atmosphere here, but the customer flow and service setup could use some major improvements during high-volume events.

I loved seeing their bulk spices, nuts, teas and candy options! Their butcher shop and fish section looked very fresh and can we talk about their massive cheese selections!? I was very impressed and they even had my favorite coffee for sale which is hard to find - the Blue Bottle Nola milk cartons. Brought to you by the family-owned, upscale and very successful, Nugget chain of grocery stores. I became very well acquainted with the Nugget markets living in Davis. There were two stores not far from each other and they were always packed. I shopped at the smaller one as it was closer to my home. It is literally the only place I ever shopped for food.I cannot imagine shopping anywhere else. When I moved to El Dorado Hills 5 years ago... thank goodness there was a big and beautiful Nugget a mile and half away. My point is all Nugget markets are quite incredible. Nothing compares to them. Excellent quality, in-house prepared food, bakery... TDF, floral, meat department, liquor, and fabulous fresh produce section. Fork Lift is to me like the Nugget markets on steroids! I was astonished at the size of the store and cool inside architectural design. Yes it is hip! Super clean, well stocked in everything. Organized. Quite impressive. And the same great departments as I mentioned above that are available in the Nugget stores are right here too! The chatter is that the Fork Lift offers many discounted prices but honestly, I never see them. Then I heard the lower priced items are strategically placed in and around the store. Who knows. I enjoy taking the drive up the hill to Cameron Park occasionally just to wander around and marvel at this shopping mecca! Easy exit off the freeway and fast to find. Plenty of parking. Worth checking out if you are in the area or on the way to or returning from Tahoe. Did I mention super duper customer service!?! And weekly specials! Really nice guy running the place. Friendly attentive, but not hovering there is a TV here riding off in the distance and it has cooking shows running on it which is fun but no sound I think but nice to watch. The music writing in here is nice. The decor in here is lovely and authentic looking. It's very clean in here. They have high chairs for small children, unique table settings. Crab Rangoons - wow! Taste homemade fresh! These are made how they're supposed to be made with an emphasis on crab and the crisp phyllo dough perfect crispy, crunchy light and airy compliments the appetizer- they're not super greasy they're clean and it really honors the crab. It's not overwhelmingly cream cheese and the sweet-and-sour sauce is amazing. It's not like that red heavily syrup sauce. It's a lighter sauce like honey almost? Left me wanting more. Khao soi (curry chicken mild) Amazing flavor profile! I have to admit I was not expecting a giant drumstick in my meal, but that's because the other place I went always had chopped chicken in there and I gotta tell you it was refreshing because it was really fresh and tasty. I just wasn't used to deconstructing my own chicken so I'm weird like that I guess but it was really good. I probably would've liked more vegetables in it, but the taste is just divine. There's some carrot and onion in there a little bit of pepperoncini too! Yummy! I ordered a mild because I'm a wimp! It's a curry style dish. It has these amazing noodles on them. They are crunchy on the top and they get soggy on the bottom and that texture difference is just amazing. Give it a try. Pad See Ew (beef) Big flat noodles, kind of a sweet dish, no spiciness here so if you're worried about anything being spicy, this is a good dish for you. Kind of savory and sweet very tasty very filling. The broccoli was to die for it was cooked perfectly. Green Curry (chicken) Medium-A true medium the head builds and is tasty. Saucy without being thick, a good thin consistency. Fair amount of chicken. Veggies lots of them,, eggplant, carrot, bamboo shoots, onion and green beans. Added some jasmine rice for perfection. And we have drunken noodles to go, so we might post those pictures later! Thank you for being open at 3 o'clock! We originally went up the hill for a Thai food and they were closed early at 2:20 then went on a mad rush to find anybody who was open at three because we had to come back down the hill :(
