A small teriyaki bowl place on Riverside Drive near Herndon and 99. You order at the counter. There are a few tables inside and outside, but a pretty small place overall. You basically choose either white, brown or fried rice as a base (or yaki style with noodles) and then choose your meat. The bowls come with assorted stir fried veggies as well. We opted for the chicken breast with fried rice and also one yaki style. They have salmon, beef, chicken thighs, chicken katsu, tofu and orange chicken as well. We also opted for a combo and chose edemame as our side. The fried rice is a little on the sweet side and kind of heavy. The noodles were good, and you can also choose a sauce to liven things up, and we chose the spicy mayo. I would definitely choose the brown rice if I go back so it would be lighter and a more healthy option. Even though it's kind of a fast food place and you order at the counter, we were approached several times at our table after receiving our food to make sure everything was ok. My experience at this place was pretty good. Went with the hubby and our daughter...they gave us fork chops to use which was pretty cool. I ordered spicy chicken plate it was really good, a little spicy but good. My husband got the steak bowl and my daughter got the chicken bowl and it was delish. Decided to grab a teriyaki bowl from here. The location is a bit small but the staff is very friendly. I ordered a large bowl which was actually pretty big and can easily feed 2 people. Lady made sure. I get my food bagged ofcourse. Make my way to the gym. I check my food. The chicken is not cooked. I move the chicken aside I have a few bites of the rice and vegetables. The rice was chalky. Literally not cooked. So I take a sip of my drink. I forgot a straw. So I had to take the lid off and sip my drink. As I'm sipping I see something. I'm tossing ice out of my cup to get to what I'm seeing. I end seeing a bug froze in the ice. Like this is a disappointment. I haven't ate all day and decide to go here after not being here for months. Giving them the benefit of the doubt and this happens. I wasted my money again not only that I TIPPED EXTRA money. The food was so good. I have tried the spot maybe twice now I live pretty far from this location but yeah overall the food was really nice. They're teriyaki sauce was sweet and light in flavor. You do have to pay for an extra sauce so there is a charge for that, but anyways, other than that, I would still recommend people from out of town to first try out teriyaki Don which is still one of my favorite restaurants for teriyaki dishes. Came with fam and ordered their chicken katsu with noodles and was sad that they mentioned that they were out. They asked me if I wanted to substitute it with another protein but Im a chicken katsu person and didn't want anything else but the katsu. They mentioned that they were going to refund the katsu plate from our order and seconds later they found some more ingredients for the katsu and they also mentioned that they are still going to refund and provide my katsu plate on them because they felt bad on how sad/upset I was when they mentioned that they had ran out. Moments later they come out with the katsu plate and it did not disappoint. I'm glad to sticking to the katsu....it was fresh and delicious! After scarfing down my plate the cook came out and apologized for the mix up earlier and gave me a gift card for a free bowl on them, he also provided desert snacks for my boys. We were fortunate to have this food brought to our family book club through Success Together, and it was fantastic! First off the food was very fresh, and looked really good. I have had it before and it usually is hard. This was soft and fluffy and paired great with the food. The spicy chicken was not overly hot, it had a great kick but you could eat comfortably. The regular chicken was grilled to perfection. The tofu had a light scrambled egg texture, not sure if thatbis how it is aleays but it was good.
