Tasty sushi and bento box. Servers were friendly and attentive to customers. Exquisite interior. Lovely koi pond at the waiting area

Thought I'd give this hibachi place a try, but was disappointed. Service was slow despite the restaurant being weirdly empty? Got their lunch hibachi special, and the rice was too salty and the meat was less flavorful in comparison - kinda odd. Not sure if their sushi is better but I'm hesitant to try again.

This is one of our favorite Sushi & Teppanyaki Restaurants in Fresno. Last night we took my husband's nephew (nine years old) to try sushi for the first time, and he did great! He tried every roll we ordered, and loved each one. Our server was so kind and very patient with him (especially when he was curious if they had a piranha roll ). Service was quick and the rolls, were delicious, as always! They revamped their menu (with a few new rolls as well as literally having new menus made). Absolutely recommend Takumi!

We came to dinner with my kids and sat on the dining side on a Friday night. We were seated right away and our drinks and food were served fast as well. Our server was really nice, chatty and gave us suggestions. She kept checking on us and gave us fantastic service. Our food was so good! My sashimi salmon just melted in my mouth and I wished I had ordered 2! The bread pudding that was recommended was soft and had a wonderful caramel taste that just had me going back for more. The place is always clean/elegant and it has a great atmosphere for a nice night out.

Love the sushi here. I always sit at the sushi bar. The place is VERY clean and staff are always friendly. The sushi chefs are always providing yummy recommendations!

Only go if you can't get in anywhere else for Teppanyaki, there is no flavor in the bacon fried rice also portion is small for the choice of protein, when the cook starting cooking I didn't see any seasoning added to the rice or anything else just cooked the food on the bacon grease, we paid $250 for my family to eat, waste of money so much green onions in the rice too and the spicy sauce didn't even mix in with the teriyaki sauce it tasted like mainly mayo. The server was also slow we didn't get any refills in our drinks my husband and I had empty cups with only ice. It was pretty busy with prom kids but we only waited a few minutes with a reservation. The floor was pretty slippery from the oil in the air I think, be careful you can slip my son almost did cause he thought it was funny to pretend to be Michael Jackson moon walking on slippery floors. Anyways save your money try to make it elsewhere.

Food was great. Had their spicy tuna crispy rice app. First time having it. Will be having it again. Delicious Also had the harvest roll (vegetarian) and the sashimi sampler (chef's choice) Takumi always has great food. We were seated quickly and our server was great!

We dined in to celebrate a birthday. Service was friendly, check ins and water infrequent, and less so once the food dropped. I had gotten the veggie roll and spicy miso ramen. My partner ordered the sunset roll and the three amigos. Compatriot ordered the teppan salmon and the baked salmon roll. We had ordered something else at the end but that was forgotten over time. The rolls overall fall apart really easily and have much more rice than anything else. The veggie roll the veggies tasted old, The fish itself is ok, nothing to write home about but not much character on that end and the amount leaves a bit to be desired. The spicy miso ramen was bland and watered down. The amount of veggies in that miniscule. Noodles were plain egg noodles and were out of place. I think the only redeeming feature of that part was that the broth was hot which was nice. Compatriot enjoyed her salmon though which was the most important part. Marks were missed, part of the order too. The order took extremely long to come out as well, and to me this just wasn't worth waiting for.

April 8 2026 my wife and I had the pleasure of dining at Takumi for the first time. As soon as we entered, the hostess warmly welcomed us and promptly seated us. The ambiance was nice and relaxing. Our server Sidnee was exceptional. She took our order efficiently and made us feel like we were part of the Takumi family. We didn't even need to ask for anything. She was proactive clearing our plates, refilling our drinks and even providing us with takeout boxes for our leftovers. Chef Kenneth was fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed conversing and laughing with him. While watching him skillfully, prepare our meals to perfection, entertainment at its best. This dining experience was both fun and memorable and we can't wait to return soon. I highly encourage you to visit Takumi for yourself and not let other negative reviews deter you from what could be a wonderful experience

I've been here twice to see if the first time was a fluke but nope! I'm officially in love with this place. This is the first place I've had a White Russian where they've shaken it, served with no ice and had the cream float. I've tried about three or four rolls now and all of them were amazing. My favorite, so far is the red rose roll. Obviously tuna is one of my favorites, it has really good flavor and taste so soft and fresh. It almost melts in your mouth. Next time I come, I want to try dessert, the challah, bread pudding looks good!

I am not much of a sushi snob but have a few key indicators of quality; how spicy is the wasabi?, how fresh is the fish? And how are the Nigiri fish portions? This establishment scores low on all three. I was tasked to pick out our rolls after we got a rainbow roll for our granddaughter. Nearly all of their "specialty" rolls had cream cheese or "spicy tuna". First, I am never going to eat cream cheese in a fish roll. Second, chili powder is often used in minced fish to cover up off flavors. I ordered another rainbow roll, an Alaska roll, and a Shadow Bridge roll. We never did receive the 2nd rainbow roll, the salmon on top of the Alaska Roll was small squares with a sesame oil that tasted a tad rancid, and the Shadow Bridge was a HUGE pile of fried onions with a roll underneath so it was heated. Needless to say we ate what we could and just agreed we would try a different place with her next time.

They clearly put thought into the drink menu. The space feels upscale but not uncomfortable. Like you can dress up or just come after work and both feel fine. The concept is unique and functions a bit like an all-you-can-eat appetizer-style setup. You are given a checklist of various dishes and can order as much as you want, though you do have to pay a fee for anything you order but don't finish. Because of that, I made sure to focus on the premium options like the fried shrimp and ribeye, though I sampled a good variety of other menu items too, and I definitely felt like I got my money's worth. If the evening price feels like a lot, the staff let me know that their lunch pricing drops to around $20. That seems like an absolute steal and easily gives you the best bang for your buck, though the dinner price certainly wouldn't discourage me from returning. The food here is easily a 10 out of 10 and tastes absolutely amazing. The quality of the dishes is definitely the highlight of the experience, with the cleanliness of the establishment coming in a close second. The restaurant is incredibly clean, and you constantly see workers moving around keeping the place spotless. The service takes third place here, as it can be a bit slow when it comes to getting drink refills or checking in on the table. However, it is an incredibly busy spot, so the pace is entirely understandable, and someone did always make sure to stop by and check on us eventually. The overall atmosphere is excellent, and I would absolutely come back here to celebrate birthdays or fun group events.
