Thought I'd give this hibachi place a try, but was disappointed. Service was slow despite the restaurant being weirdly empty? Got their lunch hibachi special, and the rice was too salty and the meat was less flavorful in comparison - kinda odd. Not sure if their sushi is better but I'm hesitant to try again.

Only go if you can't get in anywhere else for Teppanyaki, there is no flavor in the bacon fried rice also portion is small for the choice of protein, when the cook starting cooking I didn't see any seasoning added to the rice or anything else just cooked the food on the bacon grease, we paid $250 for my family to eat, waste of money so much green onions in the rice too and the spicy sauce didn't even mix in with the teriyaki sauce it tasted like mainly mayo. The server was also slow we didn't get any refills in our drinks my husband and I had empty cups with only ice. It was pretty busy with prom kids but we only waited a few minutes with a reservation. The floor was pretty slippery from the oil in the air I think, be careful you can slip my son almost did cause he thought it was funny to pretend to be Michael Jackson moon walking on slippery floors. Anyways save your money try to make it elsewhere.

We came to dinner with my kids and sat on the dining side on a Friday night. We were seated right away and our drinks and food were served fast as well. Our server was really nice, chatty and gave us suggestions. She kept checking on us and gave us fantastic service. Our food was so good! My sashimi salmon just melted in my mouth and I wished I had ordered 2! The bread pudding that was recommended was soft and had a wonderful caramel taste that just had me going back for more. The place is always clean/elegant and it has a great atmosphere for a nice night out.

This is one of our favorite Sushi & Teppanyaki Restaurants in Fresno. Last night we took my husband's nephew (nine years old) to try sushi for the first time, and he did great! He tried every roll we ordered, and loved each one. Our server was so kind and very patient with him (especially when he was curious if they had a piranha roll ). Service was quick and the rolls, were delicious, as always! They revamped their menu (with a few new rolls as well as literally having new menus made). Absolutely recommend Takumi!

April 8 2026 my wife and I had the pleasure of dining at Takumi for the first time. As soon as we entered, the hostess warmly welcomed us and promptly seated us. The ambiance was nice and relaxing. Our server Sidnee was exceptional. She took our order efficiently and made us feel like we were part of the Takumi family. We didn't even need to ask for anything. She was proactive clearing our plates, refilling our drinks and even providing us with takeout boxes for our leftovers. Chef Kenneth was fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed conversing and laughing with him. While watching him skillfully, prepare our meals to perfection, entertainment at its best. This dining experience was both fun and memorable and we can't wait to return soon. I highly encourage you to visit Takumi for yourself and not let other negative reviews deter you from what could be a wonderful experience

Food was great. Had their spicy tuna crispy rice app. First time having it. Will be having it again. Delicious Also had the harvest roll (vegetarian) and the sashimi sampler (chef's choice) Takumi always has great food. We were seated quickly and our server was great!

We dined in to celebrate a birthday. Service was friendly, check ins and water infrequent, and less so once the food dropped. I had gotten the veggie roll and spicy miso ramen. My partner ordered the sunset roll and the three amigos. Compatriot ordered the teppan salmon and the baked salmon roll. We had ordered something else at the end but that was forgotten over time. The rolls overall fall apart really easily and have much more rice than anything else. The veggie roll the veggies tasted old, The fish itself is ok, nothing to write home about but not much character on that end and the amount leaves a bit to be desired. The spicy miso ramen was bland and watered down. The amount of veggies in that miniscule. Noodles were plain egg noodles and were out of place. I think the only redeeming feature of that part was that the broth was hot which was nice. Compatriot enjoyed her salmon though which was the most important part. Marks were missed, part of the order too. The order took extremely long to come out as well, and to me this just wasn't worth waiting for.

I've been here twice to see if the first time was a fluke but nope! I'm officially in love with this place. This is the first place I've had a White Russian where they've shaken it, served with no ice and had the cream float. I've tried about three or four rolls now and all of them were amazing. My favorite, so far is the red rose roll. Obviously tuna is one of my favorites, it has really good flavor and taste so soft and fresh. It almost melts in your mouth. Next time I come, I want to try dessert, the challah, bread pudding looks good!

The waitress came back by and mentioned she heard we had an accident and she was sorry about that. We were not comped in any way. It's rich without being heavy, perfectly seasoned, and you can actually taste the quality of the beef in every bite. Nothing about it felt like an afterthought side dish, it was easily one of the standout plates of the night. And then the seafood risotto... honestly unreal. Creamy, flavorful, and loaded with seafood that actually tasted fresh, not rubbery or overcooked. You can tell they take their time with it. What really made the whole experience next level was our waitress, Kammi. She had that rare mix of being super attentive without hovering. Our drinks were always refilled before we even had to ask, she timed everything perfectly, and she knew the menu inside and out. When we asked for recommendations, she didn't just list items, she actually described them in a way that made it easy to choose, and she was spot on with everything. Whether you're craving sushi, teriyaki, or ramen, they really have something for everyone. The sushi and sashimi are incredibly fresh -- honestly some of the freshest fish we've had at any sushi restaurant. It tastes like the chef went out and caught it that morning. The 14-piece sashimi platter with a couple of rolls was more than enough for two people, and everything was excellent quality. The ramen is also fantastic, but fair warning: the bowls are HUGE, so definitely come hungry. Their garlic edamame is absolutely addictive, and we really enjoyed the poke in the seaweed poke salad, though the dish does lean very heavily on the seaweed, so just keep that in mind before ordering. The waitress was friendly and the food came out fairly quickly once our order was taken ~ less than 10 mins for sure! I ordered the spicy miso ramen ($17.99) with a sweet corn side (+$1.50) and complimentary topping of the fried garlic. The hakata (thin style noodles) were perfectly cooked, with a lil al dente bit to them. It had all the trimmings that I like ~ green onion, chashu, jammy egg, crunchy wood ear mushrooms, naruto fish cake, marinated bamboo, and nori. The broth was authentic, flavored with such depth. You can really taste the slow-cooked, miso quality in it. I loved the fried garlicky taste too! It was the right level of spice, I didn't even need to add any chili oil, like I usually do. My picky daughter opt'd for the "make your own ramen" option (starting at $12.99) ~ getting the same hakata thin noodle with tonkatsu broth, chashu (+$3.25), fried tofu (+$2.50), and freebie toppings of nori, sesame seeds & fried garlic. My son ordered the OG tonkatsu ramen w/ extra marinated bamboo (+$2) on the side. Lastly, the hubs wanted to eat lighter & healthier, so he opt'd for the teriyaki chicken rice bowl. Everyone loved their meal pick. Dare I say..I even think it ranks better than some of the ramen joints in the OC. Who knew Fresno was poppin' in the foodie dept?
