As someone who has been an anime watcher for nearly my entire life, I was completely obsessed. Seeing nods to so many childhood favorites made the experience feel so special. From Naruto and Black Clover to Dragon Ball, One Piece, and more, every detail felt thoughtfully curated. It truly feels like a little slice of Japan right here in Fresno, California. Now for the food. To really settle the "ramen vs. pho" battle, I ordered the steak pho while my bestie got the steak ramen and wow, The food was absolutely S-tier. This was some of the best pho I've ever had. The flavors were bold, rich, and layered in a way that felt like they were battling it out with combos I'd never tasted before. The real winner of this fight was definitely me, because I cleared my entire bowl. Lastly, the service was great , as they were very busy when I went, they made sure to frequently reassure my bestie & I that we'd be tended to at their earliest convenience. I've visited ramen vs pho many times in the last few years. I'm actually a huge fan of their milky ramen. I've helped myself to a few appetizers and they've always been delicious. Usually they offer pork or chicken. I usually opt for the pork. However my last visit they ran out of their traditional choices and I was enlightened when they allowed me to add steak to my ramen bowl. It was delicious and perfect. I hope they offer more often as an accommodation. Service here is always nice. Be prepared to potentially wait as seats tend to fill up quickly. Pictured is steak pho and steak milk ramen. So we drove all the way from Northeast for BOGO Ramen or Pho on Friday 07/24 at 730 pm and place was had a lot of tables with dirty dishes and big crowd outside the place. The male waiter told us an hour wait. He told us we could do an online order in the restaurant and maybe have a table at that time. Place was small so while we tried to figure it out was always in the way of the server which made us feel uncomfortable. We were never talked to again by the waiter after initial greeting so we decided to leave. Let's just say I went back to back, I couldn't get enough. I tried a little bit of everything. Top 3 appetizers spicy edamame, pork egg rolls and gyoza (chicken/pork). If you like spicy get the spicy tonkotsu, you can order a regular tonkotsu & add the chili oil to your liking. I personally wasn't a fan of the flavor-pho... the regular pho ‍‍ so good!!! Decided to try this place out since my kids love ramen & I wanted Pho. Well it was nice walking in, we got to order pretty quickly given there was only 2 other customers. We got our food fairly quickly but my appetizer (spicy edamame) came at the same time as my food so that was a bust, the edamame tasted like it must have been drowned in a tub of butter because that's all I could taste. My daughter went to pour some soy sauce in her ramen & the bottom spilled everywhere including all over my daughter's clothes (the lid was broken & apparently they don't check their condiments regularly) we were also told we "should try to be more careful" as if we were suppose to know the lid was broken & not screwed on properly. We were also the ones to clean up the spilled soy sauce as the server handed us towels & did not offer to move us tables or any kind of solution for what just happened just " you should try being careful" ‍ When I finally got to eat my Pho, there were more noodles than anything else in my bowl including broth. We arrived around 5pm on Tuesday, it was pretty slow and the server greeted us immediately and took our order. We didn't take long to peruse the menu. We ordered the pork gyozas and the pho, one meat lovers and one steak. As well as the Vegan Bao Buns. The pho broth alone, was incredible. Flavorful and light before adding any additional sauces. I usually don't devour pho in one sitting but this was just too good to not finish. The Bao buns were also surprisingly very tasty and savory with a hint of sweetness. And the gyozas were just the cherry on top. With the many options for pho in this area, I highly recommend you stop by here. I placed an order today (September 25th) at 3:14 PM from your location at 3747 W Shaw Ave, Fresno. My order included fried tofu. However, when I received the dish, it was not fried nor properly cooked. I called at 4:32 PM to address the issue. The employee who answered said she spoke with the cook, who claimed she never received an order for tofu. This is concerning, as my receipt clearly lists fried tofu. This response felt dishonest and unprofessional. I've never had an issue with your restaurant before, which makes today's experience especially disappointing. Food was eh From someone's who's had alot of Ramen and Pho this was not authentic at all. Takoyaki was uncooked in the center outside was golden brown but you bite it and it was all just gooey batter. Pho broth was watered down and had odd flavor and none of the typical spices used in pho and was greasy. Chili sauce had zero spice just extra oil to add on to your already greasy broth. My son had the Tonkatsu Ramen and it was ok We for sure have had better and more authentic Ramen in town. The pork Gyozas tasted like the frozen ones you buy at the store. Overall its not a place we will be going back too the only anime things were the paintings on the wall and food is not something that will bring us back. Start with a base of rice noodles, ramen noodles, spinach vegan ramen noodles or rice. Or select a named dish. Either way, add your preferred toppings. Two negatives. They were out of some items that had to be substituted. Narrow walkways and close tables challenging for big people or wheelchairs. A fun little place with all kinds of anime and manga art and inspiration. Even the menu is designed manga style. The waitress was thorough in clarifying our order. The pho and ramen were delivered to us by the chef. The down side was that my ramen broth was a bit salty and they had run out of the pork chashu which meant they substituted it with brisket but it is not the same. I thought the first time that we came here, Maybe we just got a bad server having a bad day now I'm starting to think that most of their employees simply don't care about good customer service. When coming in we asked to sit at a table that was big enough to where we can sit by side-by-side not across from each other. I'm not sure why this was such a put off to our server Joseph. After a big sigh and eye roll, he asked us to sit at the bar while he cleaned off a bigger table for us. After waiting 15 minutes, our table was ready. after we were given menus, we didn't get our order taken for another 30 minutes. The food is great, but the service is bad. It is just such a turn off to come to a place where i love the food only to be treated so poorly. I would recommend takeout or another place in general. I liked this place but it is quite far from me to come back for. Like the title they have both options! I got the ramen and liked mines (forgot what I got) but I believe I'd get a different one to try the next time I was around. I should've requested my dessert earlier though because it had to be made from scratch and take 30 mins but I didn't mind the wait since I was craving it and it was delicious and in a nice setup afterall. My only thing was trying to get our server's attention at times when the floor wasn't busy (another table was waiting as well), I'd assume he didn't notice because he was a bit distracted with something else. The service here was unacceptable. We came as a party of 4 I believe in first come first serve. They served another party of 4 that came in after us, absolutely unacceptable. My family was treated differently from other customers, and the behavior I experienced felt discriminatory. The waitresses were dismissive towards me and my mother. There was a table available and the waitress told us to wait outside in the cold mind you at 6:30pm until the table was cleaned. When asked to speak to a manager the young man said we don't have one but the owners husband is there cooking. The owners husband was nonchalant to the customers and their wait times. There were other people who left as well for the rude service and lack of acknowledgment. I'm not asking to cater to me but at least give me some in n out service, not Mc Donald's service. To the owners I understand rush hours and moments where we you may be understaffed, but there are better ways to treat people under pressure. On that note don't forget that the reason you are in business is because of your customers. If I could give a negative number it would be -10, no accountability from anyone in the restaurant. Watered down, asked for more creamer/half & half to make it better but it was still just the same -- watered down. Don't order the Thai tea. Our food took forever to order too. The table next to us barely got their food and they were there before us. We ordered the spicy tonkotsu ramen. Pretty good but it was a little bit salty for me. Overall, I think that the first experience for us was not that satisfying. The wait time took so long and to get the employee's attention also was a bit hard. Food was okay too. First visit was amazing. Second visit scared us away for good. Please take care of your employees. This was only our 2nd time here and my goodness your server made it so uncomfortable we just left. It's 3pm on a Sunday. The restaurant was dead. We got there and she was cleaning tables so I politely asked if she can start us off with spicy edamame. She brought out the edamame and waters and continued to ignore us lmao. I can't help but laugh because it was literally that sad. We sat there for 20 minutes became the only people in the restaurant. Again, we were the only people in the restaurant and she just continued cleaning tables ignoring us. Then 2 guys came in and sat. They sat for 10minutes and she didn't even come greet them lol so I was like ok we're never going to get serve and if we do she's probably going to spit in our food because she doesn't want us to be here. Oh and the best part, she was cleaning the table next to us and sprayed the cleaning solution on the table and sprayed us with the solution!! lol we just looked at each other and laughed because we were like oh ish this is really happening. Here because of the anime paintings Hubby got Phở - broth was GOOD, noodle was ok Me: Tonkotsu Ramen - it was delicious! We also got Laos sausages which came with rice and jeow (chili paste/ pepper sauce) - delicious as well. Jeow was really good; not too spicy. Staff were very nice.
