The Salmon Roll looked and tasted like it was at least two or three days old. Very disappointing.

I wanted to give this restaurant a better rating but ....I ordered the Bulgogi and I received a plate with boiled meat and vegetables, rice and salad. When I inquired about the order, I was politely informed that Bulgogi was boiled beef. When we lived in Hawaii, we had Bulgogi cooked a couple of different ways, but never boiled with no sauce. I think a review the recipe may be needed for consistency. I read another review that mentioned the Bulgogi sauce was too sweet....It would have been nice to have had sauce!! read more

I mean, you're ordering sushi in central Texas, so. Very skimpy on the sashimi. Rolls vary from decent to pretty bad. Relies a lot on spicy sauces, and the rice isn't done quite right. We basically forget how disappointing it is and get it again every 6 months or so. Oh well. read more

Worst sushi I've ever had. Questionable ground up fillings in the sushi rolls. Wasabi was weird and creamy. We feel ripped off and hungry.

the food is pretty good and reasonably cheap but the setup of the restaurant is kind of weird: it's a bit slow, and everything is served in takeout containers/styrofoam trays even if you are eating there. they also do not give a soy sauce dish or anything, instead two plastic containers with wasabi and ginger; i used the one that contained the ginger for soy sauce after dumping out the ginger. why don't they just put the ginger and wasabi on the plate and bring you a dish for the soy sauce? i don't know. why don't they invest in glass dishware and reuse it? i don't know. it really brings down the atmosphere of this restaurant. read more

Tasty yet Tacky Having moved to Waco, Texas from an affluent suburb in the San Francisco Bay area, it was a bit of a culture shock to be exposed to the small college town atmosphere at Baylor University. I knew that I would not be eating at the five star restaurants like those of which I had at home, but I was determined to find a place other than campus dining halls to appease my hunger. Teriyaki Park in Waco, Texas is a great place to buy fresh, tasty sushi that can fit into anyone's budget, but is not a great place to go for a dining experience with an authentic feel. Teriyaki Park has many entrée choices that allow anyone to find something they like. Their menu caters to all types of people, vegetarians to meat and fish lovers alike. The friendly staff member whom took our order kindly had the sushi chefs substitute avocado for the cucumber in our sushi. Teriyaki Park really goes out their way to make sure all of the customers are satisfied with their orders. Fantastic Entrée prices that easily fit in anyone's budget are just another positive aspect of Teriyaki Park. I couldn't believe my eyes; $4.95 was the total of my 10-piece roll. Back in California I would never have been able to buy sushi for that low of a cost, as California Rolls are typically around $7. After paying for sushi, the chefs make each customer's sushi to order, unlike other sushi restaurants in Waco that have pre-made sushi. The sushi had great flavor and was comparable to the quality of the sushi at restaurants I eaten at in California. What Teriyaki Park has in its food and prices, it lacks in its atmosphere. If I did not read the large neon sign out front of the restaurant it would be easy to mistaken the type of restaurant I was in. Teriyaki Park has tacky lime green. Not to mention the cupcake and sweet treat cookbooks that someone cheaply used on the wall as a substitute for paintings. The atmosphere at Teriyaki Park mimics a typical college student restaurant and not that of a true Sushi Restaurant. When looking for a cheap bite to eat with fresh quality food, then Teriyaki Park is a great place to go dine, but if you were looking for a sushi restaurant with a cultural atmosphere Teriyaki Park would not be on my list. read more

Best sushi in Waco. A real treat when on a date or with friends. Service is fast with good prices. Decor is peaceful with an outdoor area.

Their sushi always tastes fresh. I was hesitant to try Teriyaki Park because cheap prices usually mean bad food, but this place is a hidden gem. $8 can get me a filling meal with leftovers. Everything I've tried is great. I eat here at least once a week. I recommend the salmon roll and spicy California roll. They always have lunch specials going on, great deals! read more

If you want cheap, quick, sushi this place is great! I am a big fan of the Baylor roll with a side of edamame. I have not had any of their other, non-sushi dishes but some of my friends have and were not impressed. I would stick with the sushi! read more

This place had such hilariously mixed reviews that I finally decided to check it out for myself. It's essentially an Asian diner, and as such it has all the best and worst features a diner could offer. The $7 lunch special will give you more food than a human should eat in one sitting, and it probably won't give you food poisoning, but that's really all you should expect. All the reviewers who claim it's *~tHe bESt FoOd eVar~* are either lying or oblivious, and honestly I commend the person who's brave enough to order sushi from such a warm restaurant. If you're thinking about going here, ask yourself three questions: 1) Do you only have approximately 15 minutes to eat lunch? 2) Did you not eat breakfast this morning? 3) Are you between paychecks? If the answer to one or more of these is yes, Teriyaki Park might fit the bill. If not, you should probably spend the extra $5 to get food with some flavor. This was far from the worst food I've ever eaten, but there's really nothing here that will draw me back. read more

So Japanese food is one of my favorites. I'm not an expert in Japanese food, but I can at times tell if the food is authentic Japanese and Teriyaki Park is not. I can really taste the Korean fusion in a lot of the food they serve, but because I enjoy Korean food just as much I like it here a lot. I usually get the rainbow roll or alaskan roll (those are my favorites anywhere) or just the chicken teriyaki. In my honest opinion the raw fishes here are okay and good enough to enjoy for it's price. The only time I ever felt like the raw fish just melted in my mouth because it was so good was at a Japanese restaurant owned by a Japanese sushi chef that was very very strict and serious about his food to serve his customers. The interior is cute and clean. They keep their restrooms clean as well and I appreciate that a lot. The place is a bit small so it can get crowded, but it's fine and never a problem. read more
