This venue is really something else! It is a mid-size venue, yet feels much more intimate because of it's layout and very nice sound mix. It is very clean and has a nice little food area if you're hungry. All of the staff were very friendly as well. The sound mix and stage lighting were great. The acoustics of the room were so nice that the band was actually able to do a song totally unplugged and were still able to be heard all throughout the area. Hands down my favorite Atlanta music venue. I've been coming here for several years now and have never been disappointed. Food variety is decent and tasty. Sound quality is always great. Not a bad spot in the house to enjoy the show, either up front by the stage, or in the balcony. Dual bars keep the concert goers hydrated. The industrial feel of the King Plow center is pretty special. In good weather, you can also enjoy the upstairs outside area to watch a train, or just chill out. Parking is easy, either in the lot or in the deck. If you haven't been, what are you waiting for? (well, OK, Covid-19) but get there as soon as you can. Terminal West is the best venue in Atlanta for music and special events. As an event organizer for large bi monthly artist showcases here from 2014-2016, I would give these guys 10 stars if I could. EVERYONE on their staff are the most amazing people, super accommodating, and not pretentious at all like some venue's I have worked with. They are always willing to help, and are fantastic at communicating. I never felt the need to micro manage while trying to get my vision across for what I wanted with lighting or sound, they always are able to read my mind when it comes to that, which is awesome because it makes my job so much easier when I can trust everything technical will run smoothly. The kitchen is also fantastic. Great people that work in there as well. The food is DELICIOUS. A nice little hidden gem, if you have never been I think it's about time. The tots and the kale salad are freaking amazing. I love everything about this place, from the decor, the music and event line ups, the staff, the owners, and the location. My only wish is that it was bigger so we could still host our events here. Maybe one day! :) read more

Incredible night. Dumpstaphunk is my NEW favorite band. Groovy, funky, with soul. Great crowd interaction, solid musical journeys, big shout out to the drummer who had some great style. Overall I had a blast, danced my ass off, and met some really cool people. I was fortunate enough to link up with the drummer, Alvin Ford. We're going to meet up in New Orleans then at SXSW! Awesome! Terminal West is a sweet new venue on the Westside of town in a part of the King Plow complex. If you like DJ's and regional bands, this is the place for you. Not always my sort of sound, but this places brings in some hot names. The facility seems recently renovated. Nice stage, floor space, patio, and several bars. I don't think you'll ever wait too long for a drink, and they have an outstanding bar. A beer selection of 40 or 50 different canned craft beers! Awesome. Parking is plentiful and free. Also, there are plenty of cool beer bars and sweet restaurants in the area. Go Midtown West! read more

Very nice venue. It's the perfect size so that even if it is full it still won't feel crowded. The two bars have plenty of room around them. The restroom is decent. The balcony has a great view. The sound is excellent. I only wish that more of my favorite artists used this venue so I could go more often. I parked in the lower, covered parking deck and paid $5. It is a very close walk to the door too so I was pleased with it. I read about free parking at the venue, but I did not see any or it was a bit confusing to me, but I was fine with the garage parking and $5 is so cheap compared to other venues. The only thing I would change, if I were to have everything my way ...and why shouldn't I? :) I would use the wrist bands for the NON drinkers rather than for those over 21. I mean, I'm on the verge of being officially an old dude but I have to mess around with a wrist band that annoys me and is hard to take off. I usually have to wear it all the way home to get something to take it off with. Plus, wouldn't you guys use far less wrist bands giving them to the underage group, thus saving a bit of money on them? Anyway, that won't stop me from going here. The good: parking is pretty easy. They have 3 bars and a friendly staff. The club is really nice and more spacious than it's counterparts like the Earl. Another big plus is it's smoke-free. If you do want to smoke they have a heated porch. The bad: the sound. It's a converted warehouse so the sound bounces off the walls. I saw Pinback here w/ Solos. Solos was all guitar and drums; very loud and not mixed well. They mixed the vocals well for Pinback but the drums and guitar were not mixed well; it was all bass. At times the crowd talking was louder than the band. This place has a lot of potential but they need to sound proof it better. It's good to have another venue in Atlanta; the place just needs to work on the sound. read more

I love this place. I really enjoy going to concerts specially at this place. Terminal west is a pretty sweet spot where I've come to enjoy awesome rock concerts. Their drinks are always well made. Them bartenders know what's up. I already bought my tickets to see Khruangbin this coming up April. Haven't tried the food yet tho. read more

I went to a concert at Terminal West last weekend and i loved this venue is much it was so nice and a great size!

We went to Terminal West to see Cory Henry & The Funk Apostles and Flow Tribe and overall I liked the venue. PROS -- The location is ideal. You don't have to worry about what other concerts, conventions or sporting events are going on downtown. Since this place is on the west side you can get around much of the traffic and pedestrian activity. -- No need to look out for orange flag waving parking lot attendants. There's a secure parking lot at the venue. Pay the attendants when you arrive and feed the ticket machine to exit. -- The venue was intimate and I liked the layout. There were two bars, one on each side of the room. Despite all the people in there it never got hot. The space had very high ceilings and fans were twirling overhead to keep everyone cool. -- The ladies room was clean and there were lots of stalls so the line-out-the-door wait I've experienced at other concerts wasn't an issue here. -- You can get to the restaurant next door (Stationside) from inside the venue. It actually has good ratings on Yelp too. CONS -- The concrete floors were not kind. Except for a few seats near sound production, the venue is standing room only. If you're not wearing comfortable shoes you're going to feel it and the only place to rest your feet is next door at the restaurant. Still, we had a great time at the concert. I would definitely return to Terminal West to see other artists. read more

I now have a favorite concert venue. My inaugural trip to Terminal West was a celebratory whim following my resignation of a job that I've grown to hate. When I learned that The Ting Tings would be performing less than 24 hours after the final night of my erstwhile job, I knew that Terminal West was where I needed to be. Incidentally, I have a sibling named "Stacy," so I'm understandably familiar with The Ting Tings. Both Terminal West and The Ting Tings had VERY big shoes to fill considering that I was exactly 2 weeks removed from my best concert experience ever, Kiesza/Betty Who at Center Stage. That said, Terminal West rose to the occasion in masterful fashion. Terminal West is nestled in the historic King Plow Arts Center, which has a massive geographic footprint. How massive? There are 9 parking lots. One can pay for convenience, or one can park for free in lot 9, though the latter necessitates a considerable walk. Once inside, one will find a restaurant, 4 bars, merchandise stand, and surprisingly-nice-for-a-rock-venue restrooms. Given that doors open 1 hour prior to any show, concert attendees have ample time to dine before the first note is played. Notwithstanding, if you're like me, eating immediately before a show is not advisable. That's because, if you're like me, you're going to head directly to the stage, front and center, pressing your chest against the guard rail because you've experienced the glory of front row equivalency, and you can never again settle for anything less. And though such a desirable vantage point has obvious benefits, a spot immediately in front of the stage also means that booming bass will shake your insides for the entirety of the show, GUARANTEED. Trust me, you do not want a full stomach if your insides are to be shaken almost continuously for 2 hours. As other yelpers have mentioned, Terminal West is a general admission/standing room only concert hall with a capacity of approximately 600. However, there are 2 dozen barstools available if you prefer to sit and if you arrive early enough to claim one. Moreover, Terminal West features a balcony directly above their sign, which is good for those whom prefer a pseudo private skybox feel. Said balcony might be closed if concert attendance isn't approaching capacity, but an amiable employee will likely unlock the door if you ask. While I enjoyed an outstanding experience, and was probably the audience MVP, I'm trying not to let the show itself overly influence my review of this business. Again, as other yelpers have mentioned, the bartending personnel are quite attractive. But more importantly, the Terminal West staff are remarkably friendly (as advertised). For example, following the curtain call, the stage crew peeled the taped markers off the stage and gave them to a few audience members. After the lights came up, I never had the impression that anyone was eager to expedite the crowd away. Also, I elected to utilize the free parking in lot 9, and a security guard in a golf cart spontaneously offered to transport lil' ole' me all the way up that hill past the other 8 lots. And I wasn't even showing any cleavage! My first outing to Terminal West is also my third concert in less than a month, and I'm hooked! With regards to me, a concert performance succeeds on a "super critical" level only if these criteria are satisfied: 1. The performers are thoroughly entertaining. 2. The performers look into the audience and see, not a crowd, but rather a collection of individuals. Specifically, pertaining to my second criterion, I need a musician to acknowledge my existence, to make me feel, and to convince me that I'm special. Chelsea Tyler of KaneHoller (the opening act) held my hand, looked into my eyes, and smiled at me. I was the sole audience member that she interacted with. Katie White of The Ting Tings double high-fived me. I was 1 of only 2 audience members that she touched. Both ladies gave birth to a lifelong fan. I was star-struck. I was smiling from ear to ear. I didn't want to wash my hands. Terminal West facilitated these experiences. read more

What an awesome venue!! Good food, good band, strong drinks! Me likey! I was here for the first time to see The Sounds with some friends recently, and WOW....LOVE IT! - Parking is easy, parking deck right before the venue! I missed it, so keep a look out! - Venue is not too big, and sound/lighting was awesome for the show I saw! We got there a little early to have dinner, so snagged a table downstairs. Upstairs, though I didn't go, has a nice balcony area from what I could see. Smoking patio is "roof top", with seats & tables, yes I did go here. LOL! - Our bartender had a strong pour....I'm not mad! Drinks were reasonably priced, and they had a wide variety of alcohol. - Stationside (FOOD): They have TOTS. YES!! You can eat inside the restaurant area, or in the Terminal West stage area. We ordered, and took our food to our table in the stage area. Smoked chicken salad was good, but I wished they would've cut it in half so it didn't fall apart on me! TOTS. TOTS. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. My company hosted a holiday party here, and I was underwhelmed by the staff, food, and the bar. Food was bland and cold. Decent selection of beers, but nothing was on tap...so I could have had the same beer out of my fridge at home. Imagine an Atlanta music venue with great parking, a friendly staff, reasonable prices on drinks, fantastic sound, CLEAN BATHROOMS, a clean yet cozy space, and a well-designed layout- it's almost impossible to conceive, yet the owners of Terminal West pulled it off beautifully. Many of my favorite bands have adjusted their usual tour schedules to play here instead of the more ubiquitous Atlanta venues. Terminal West is simply great. I have to award special praise to the venue's front of house engineer, who not only had the sound dialed in perfectly (not a single solitary instance of feedback on any of the band's FOUR vocal mics), but they quickly- and I mean instantly- responded to what was requested from the stage. All around, there's not a single negative thing that can be said. Excellent work to the proprietors of this establishment! read more

If you haven't been to Terminal West and are considering going just stop reading now, do yourself a favor and buy that ticket! Its a great venue. Dan the Food Man is a great chef and makes food that makes your taste buds sing the songs of angels. The sound is always really good and the lights are beautiful! Bathrooms are clean so A+ from a girls standpoint for sure. Its non smoking inside the venue but they do have an outdoor patio where you can smoke if you want to. It overlooks a railroad and sometimes a train will come by and Honk (? not sure if that's the correct term) if everyone on the patio gets rowdy enough. Staff is very professional, organized and helpful to the patrons. read more

Great small venue with friendly staff, safe secure parking, with a casual restaurant attached for grabbing dinner before the show. It feels newer and cleaner than some other venues in town, which are sometimes downright gritty. Also the viewing area is very wide allowing for plenty of viewing room and the stage is at a good height. The area around Terminal West is rather industrial, with loft apartments and a few upscale hair solons so don't assume you can walk around the neighborhood before a show, there's not much to see. The show I just saw was Throwing Muses with special guest Tonya Donnelly; a perfect place to see a show like this. I also noticed no one was smoking, a huge plus not to stink after a show (GA get with the times), maybe that was because it was all ages...saw a kid walking around with his mom. All in all, a great night, I will definitely be back! read more

Went here yesterday for a live podcast and I just wish whoever designated this place put a lot of details into the event at hand.. 1 no signage at all so where am I supposed to go. 2 parking was $5 which I had no idea it was and gratefully I had some cash that day. 3 the venue itself was nice just not big enough for everyone to enjoy a sold out show and sit down and enjoy a podcast 4 the restaurant inside opened for the overflow and we enjoyed it in there ... please just be careful when leaving outside it's a big dip on the sidewalk ( they had a sign posted) and be aware of your surroundings read more

What's not to love about Terminal West? Great venue. No PBR for some odd reason, but lots of interesting beers, all in cans. Awesome and unique shows. I've always had a good time! I like how to "smoking deck" is right next to the tracks so trains come through randomly, drowning out the loud drunk people noise. read more

I love this venue. I am not a music buff, nor am I really a food snob. But, this place has gotten everything right. The music that I come to see are all groups I really want to see. The price cannot be beat. And the food is superb. There's only one place I can think of at a music venue that is on par. If the restaurant were open at night, I would come here! I am gluten free, and they will make almost everything gluten free. I believe the owner and his dad are celiac, so they truly know how to do it right. My boyfriend, who is not gf, loves the food as well. Definitely a must! read more

Undoubtedly the best venue of its size in Atlanta, and after years of traveling to concerts nationwide I believe it is one of the best in the country. Top of the line sound paired with an amazing in-house lighting rig make any event here a truly memorable experience. Not to mention, the staff at Terminal West is a collection of champions in all that they do. Also, The bar offers one of the largest lists of canned craft beers and hand crafted cocktail and shot specials. I have been to dozens of shows at Terminal West since they first opened their doors and I look forward to enjoying many more. If you have not checked out this wonderful venue yet I highly suggest that you do. Their calendar of shows provides an eclectic array of artists that has something for all musical tastes. next to centerstage, this is probably my favorite venue it atlanta. i've been twice in the last 10 months alone to see one of my favorite bands (dale earnhardt jr jr if you care!). no matter where you're standing, there is always a decent view of the stage and the acoustics are by far some of the best. easy parking, not that long ago WAS free, but i suppose that is what eventually happens with quality in atlanta-at some point you have to pay for it (of course, lol). read more

I'm kind of caught on what rating to give Terminal West. I think I'll stick to three because while nothing was terrible and it had it's good points, there's enough wrong with it to get me excited about going back. The pros: Nice looking place. I like the set up and was happy that my tab floated to every bar. The bar options and pricing were pretty great for a venue. The bartenders themselves were all fantastic and worked their asses off. Parking was great, and $5 is a small price to pay for close venue parking, not sure why people were complaining about it loudly. The layout itself was nice and easy to navigate and the bathrooms were spotless. Major props on cleanliness. The Cons: The sound, dear god the sound. We saw O'Death and Murder By Death last night and while O'Death seemed fine, MBD was a muddled mess. Levels were constantly wobbling about and it was rarely pleasant to listen to. The levels on the cello were horrible. The lighting was sub-par as well and always seemed a beat behind. Not sure who their lighting designer is but hopefully they're in a learning process and will get better. It's not a large stage, but good lighting goes a long way in making up for your stages shortcomings. It made the show rather unenjoyable, sadly. Another thing, which is probably not the venues fault, is that the crowd itself was extremely rude. Loud talking during both sets and just generally being rude to each other. it wasn't a packed house but I and my girlfriend were elbowed several times and there were a few loud arguments happening around us. Not sure if that's just the type of crowd TW attracts, or just the type of people that show up to live events now. Again, not the venues fault at all, but something that would definitely keep me from returning. We didn't get a chance to try out the food, but it looked and smelled pretty great (menu is right up my alley). The workers were all pleasant and it certainly has the ability to be a good venue, but when the sound and lighting is that bad I don't see the point in going back till there's someone knowledgeable working on it. How am I just discovering Terminal West?? My husband and I were there recently to see the Steep Canyon Rangers, who are a great band, but the atmosphere, and the amazing drink choices really added to this experience. I cannot remember a concert venue with a better drink menu. The cocktails all sounded so good, and I love the fact that most of the craft beers are served in cans. I checked out a food menu, and I am sad that we ate dinner elsewhere before the show. Next time we will eat there. The menu had me at kale chips with nutritional yeast! The food looked very elevated, but the prices seemed quite reasonable. Terminal West had an overall great vibe to it, and I can't wait to go back for another show. And more cocktails. And more beer in can. And kale with nutritional yeast. All of this and great music, yes please! read more

I kind of groaned when I saw I had to go out of my venue comfort zone (EAV/Ponce/L5P) for a show. But the bands were solid so I made the trek. Aside from sitting in GA Tech football traffic (totally my error) it wasn't that bad. Parking was so so, we had to search out a spot. But eventually found one in the main lot up front. Once I got inside I saw this was a really nice room overall, it was big, nice layout and the nicest surprise? There was no smoke odor! Someone told me you have to smoke upstairs. In the big picture, the sound was good, the drinks were fair in price, clean bathrooms and friendly service. As I'm writing this I'm liking Terminal West even more. Although they don't book a lot of bands I regularly see, I won't hesitate to come back here again. read more

Plus, they just added a restaurant next door called Stationside that is absolutely amazing and open during shows. Terminal West is an incredibly fun yet intimate venue for live music. I attended the Joywave and St. Lucia show, and although it was sold out, there was still plenty of space to dance! They also have huge fans going to keep the space cool. The venue is small enough so even us short people can see the stage. There is also an upstairs balcony which is really great if you can get towards the front. Good to know that parking is easy as well. The only reason for 4 stars was a mistake in our bar tabs, which when brought to their attention was immediately fixed. My advice is to close out your tab even though they give you your card back when you first order. I look forward to coming back for the Vance Joy show in a few weeks! read more
