My favorite venue in Atlanta. It's the perfect size, the ambiance is on point, the sound is amazing.

Earlier this year I went to Terminal West for the first time specifically to see bluegrass artist, Dan Tyminski, better known as a full-time member of Alison Krauss' band, Union Station, and providing the singing voice of George Clooney in the film, O Brother, Where Art Thou?. I didn't eat or get any drinks, though the menu looked appealing. I immediately got very excited upon walking in. The seated concert area is quite small, and intimate, with a little bit of standing room, so you have a great spot no matter where you're at. It reminded me of a smaller, classier version of The Foundry in Athens, Ga. The sound was terrific and the crowd was respectful. I've been to countless music venues over the last two decades, and this one is absolutely one of the best ones out there. I love small venues because there's always a good chance the musicians will come out to greet fans after the show. And Dan along with the rest of the band came out! If there's an artist you're even slightly interested in seeing live, and they're playing here, don't hesitate! You never know what you're going to get when going to a smaller venue/restaurant for the first time, but Terminal West exceeded my expectations. read more

Went to a friends show here March 15th. I think it was the venue's opening night. This place is beautiful!! Everything about it. The attention to detail put into its design is amazing. I love the brick walls accented with the raw wood ceilings. The sound was great. The size was perfect. Not too small not too big. Hope to see more shows here soon!! read more

Pros- Tho standing room only, pretty comfortable; Good beer selection and not overpriced, considering it's a music venue; Very nice having reasonable eatery attached; Good temperature - cool, but not cold; Parking ($5) couldn't be more convenient; Cons- Here's the major rub - I've been to literally hundreds of shows over the years at metro Atlanta venues, both present and past. Horrible horrible sound. Loud, but that's about all you could say. Vocals of opening act (Diane Coffee) and main act (Luna) were buried in a wall of aural sludge. Of course, the problem could have been whomever was at the mixing board and not the equipment itself, but not in any rush to see another show at Terminal West. read more

If you're looking to potentially ripped off this is the place: no good places to sit and if you start a bar tab, which I've done twice, they swipe your card, give it back and well... The rest is up to whatever they feel. It may be correct, or like myself, they will charge your card 3 times, no presenting you with any type of receipt at the end and then tip themselves $200.00. AND management will find ways to discredit you and not help you. BEWARE!!!! read more

Terminal West is a fantastic place to become one with your favorite band! I always feel part of the show at this venue. Parking is easy and reasonable ($5.00) and tickets can be easily obtained online or at the venue. It is easy to grab a drink during the show as there is one in the back of each corner. There is also food area that kind of reminds me of a high school cafeteria. I haven't tried the food. There are two areas for smokers, one on the main floor and another upstairs offering close-up views of passing trains! The upstairs also has a small oval balcony facing directly towards the stage giving fans a dynamite view! When I go to Terminal West, I always leave with a smile on my face! read more

Definitely my favorite concert spot in Atlanta. The space is really cool and unique, and the venue is just the right size. I've never been to a concert that was overcrowded - it's always quick and easy to get a drink, which is obviously the most important thing right? ;) There's also a nice balcony and outdoor area upstairs where people can hang out during set break. My favorite venue in Atlanta by far. Super intimate, always have great acts, drink prices aren't outrageous, and tickets are extremely reasonable. The ONLY thing is that outside you have loud trains going by, but obviously that's not the venue's fault. Staff is always friendly and you get in quickly. Even when a show is sold out, you don't feel terribly packed and can still breathe. Such an intimate venue that I've even met artists while standing outside after the show. 10/10 love this place. read more

I rented out Terminal West last weekend for a special event. Robert (owner) and staff are AWESOME! I did not have to worry about anything because I knew it was going to be handled - from security, lighting, sound, bartenders, etc. Every single person working our event was incredible. I am sure that TW makes a lot more profit with concerts rather than private events such as mine. However, they were more than fair and Robert was extremely responsive to all my changes and questions! I had booked the venue over a year in advance of our event... since that time, TW has gotten very popular and I'm not even sure they will be booking many private events in the future. They COULD have completely blown us off once they got popular... but they didn't (even though our event was on a Saturday night, probably their busiest and most profitable night of the week). I think that says a lot about the integrity of how this place is run. It's not every day you find a club owner/promotoer who runs his business like this! The lighting and sound systems in the venue CANNOT be beat, they are absolutely the best in Atlanta. TW is an awesome place to see music of any type and enjoy some tasty drinks. They also have a new space "Stationside" which will be opening soon - they will serve food and may even host smaller shows in this space. If you work or live near King Plow, be sure to check it out when it opens, it is sure to be a great place for lunch or before a show! read more

I must be honest, on my arrival, I was not impressed. The building looked like an empty warehouse with NOTHING but a railroad track near it. When I walked inside though, I was extremely impressed! This place is phenomenal on the inside! Two things really impressed me. One was the bathrooms. Plenty of stalls and urinals. And probably the cleanest bathrooms I have ever experienced at a venue. Two was the bartenders. There were two bars set up with three bartenders at each one. When ordering my drinks, I waited in line no longer than 30 seconds with a drink being passed to my hand! NO WAIT! And very fast, very friendly service! Will I be back? Most definitely! But my advice to folks who are driving from out of town is don't expect to park and walk around and find something to do to spend time doing before the show. But this is a most incredible place on the inside. Looking forward to seeing another show there! read more

We were at Terminal West for the Perpetual Groove shows on 12/31, 1/1 and 1/2. The staff at this place were the best. They always remembered what you were drinking at the bar and were kind enough to provide me one of the only seats in the house because of back issues. Husband and I saw Margo Price at Terminal West earlier this week. This was our first time at this venue, and we enjoyed it! It's in a great location with easy parking. They even have a little restaurant inside if you'd like to eat before your show. We opted for dinner elsewhere, so we arrived a little after the opening act started. Wear comfortable shoes - no seats, just standing, which was expected. It appeared that they have bar stools lining the wall, and a few tables in the back for seating, but I think you need to arrive early in order to grab one. There's also a small balcony area where people were standing at the railing, and it looked like there may have been seating behind them, but not sure. There is a bar on either side of the room which helped to cut down on wait time, and the rest rooms were clean and easily accessible. My husband had a couple of beers (Sweetwater 420), and I had a glass of wine, which was surprisingly yummy considering most venues have terrible wine selections. Overall, it was a great experience, and we'll go again. read more

Terminal West is outside my usual stomping grounds, but came in last night for the Old 97s show and will definitely be back. Everything about this venue rocked. Staff were friendly and professional. The layout is great: broad area in front of stage and deep enough to be able to move around a bit in the crowd; two bars in performance area with lots of space to get served; intimate stage setting that gets you right up to the band. The Stationside Restaurant attached is the secret weapon of this place. I've never had food this good in a performance venue. The Korean fried chicken sandwich was amazing, as was my wife's chickpea burger and quinoa salad, and at great prices. And, even, easy, secure parking (kindofa big deal since I'm a ways out of town)! A great first experience that won't be the last. read more

For such a spacious Venue, the overwhelming absence of SEATING is a glaring misfortune. Folding chairs are stackable for easy storage. A few hundred would be sufficient, and allow plenty of floor space for those who enjoy standing for multiple hours. read more

I was VERY impressed by Terminal West, even before I went there for the 1st time. I had inquired, on Yelp, about handicap accessibility. Immediately, Alan sent me a reply & Sarah emailed me that the security team would make certain that our needs were met. YAY! Parking was very close & the venue was easy to find. I bought our tickets to see one of my all time favorite bands, OLD 97s. I was super excited, this was a gift for my 50th birthday. I really worried about what to wear but this is a casual venue so just be comfortable. You have to stand the entire show so wear those flats!!!! The venue was amazing! We arrived early, I bought my souvenir concert T, in the Stationside Restaurant, then ordered some grub. The Kale chips were delicious, spiced tater tots yummy, & the burger scrumptious. You have to pick up your food in the restaurant but are welcome to carry it into the venue. The server saw that I had my hands full & offered to help. After we finished eating, I took our trays back & ordered another round. The cashier was a pretty young lady & even though she had probably served over a hundred people since I ordered our food; she asked, "how did you like the root beer & Strongbow?" What a great memory!!! She, as well as every other employee was courteous, helpful & professional. The restrooms are large & spotless! The group Banditos, blew us away! The lead singer is like Janice Joplin reincarnated & the entire band put on one hell of a show. Electric banjo? Count me in! AH, the OLD 97's. I've loved them for over 20 years so seeing them live, was a dream come true. Ken Bethea rode his skateboard up as we were waiting in line & talked to everyone. Pretty cool. Rhett Miller walked right past me. He was powerful, one of my all time favorite singers & song writers & I even caught a "rock jump" (no one was hurt) with my camera. Murray's vocals were so sweet, especially an acoustic rendition of "Valentine". The crowd was singing & it sounded heavenly! I could feel Phillip's pounding drumming, in my chest. It was an amazing night, beginning to end. The only 2 things that could not be helped was some dingbat spilling a drink (a LARGE one) all over us, from the balcony. (At least they didn't drop the glass, too) & 2 7 footers standing right in front of our table. Oh, the public. There were 2 couples who stood behind us, who were very tall. I turned around & thanked them for being so courteous & thoughtful. They laughed & said that they could see from anywhere in the room, why block anyone else's view, touche. I wish I could give this venue more stars.....world class attention to detail, sound, lighting, food & especially customer service. I will be back! THANKS Terminal West!!!! Terminal West at King Plow Complex is one of the best places to see music in Atlanta. Rivaled only by The Fox and The Tabernacle. I've only tried sandwiches and tots, but everything so far at Stationside has been great too. They have great sound, great lighting, a great staff, an efficient ticketing system, clean bathrooms, and great bartenders. This isn't your average bar venue, it is something much much more. Having visited the venue 20+ times since it's been open for everything from electronic music, jam music, bluegrass, and RAW Atlanta art shows I have never once had a less than amazing experience. The music is always great, i've discovered some great music through T-west, and i've seen even MORE artists that i've loved for quite some time. I would LOVE to see some bigger productions where the king plow and courtyard area are opened up for music and vendors. (i'd gladly pay for a 40-50 day/night ticket. tri-numeral was a great event, and it would be awesome to see T-west host a multiple day/night festival using a similar structure.) Keep up the great work guys! read more

I have been to hundreds of shows and Terminal West is heads and shoulders better than anywhere else. A shuttle took us from the parking lot and dropped us off right in front of the venue. We didn't have to wait more than 2-3 minutes for the shuttle to pick us up from the parking lot or from Terminal West after the show was over. All of the staff from the guy scanning tickets, the woman checking IDs, to the bartenders were awesome. They were ALL really nice and personable. The beer selection is FANTASTIC. I was able to drink Ten Fidy and Jai Alai all night. And they only served cans so you didn't have to worry about broken glass, which is a great idea. They also seemed to cater to the band by having Jameson specials. All in all, you just got the sense that the venue cared about providing a GREAT experience aside from just booking a band. They paid attention to all of the small details. I would rate them 10 stars if I could, just a well done, professional, friendly place. Oh, and the sound is fantastic and the venue itself is beautiful. I really hope Lucero makes a three night run a tradition at Terminal West. Can't wait for show 2 and 3 tonight and tomorrow. read more

Loved the venue. Very small so you get a real up close experience with the band you go to see. Went to see Lord Huron a few months back and had a great experience as the venue goes. Parking was easy there is a little parking deck right in the lot and was only 5$ which I thought was very reasonable and even had a little security guard. Beer was was decent priced as well. Got there as soon as doors opened grabbed a beer and got right up on the stage so I could be as close as possible being as they are one of my fav bands right now. My only issue at all with anything that night is the photographers, I am not sure if they were an idependant company or they were through terminal west but there were horribly rude. I managed to show up over an hour early to get a good spot to enjoy the show and they should do the same. 30 min into the show I had a tall blonde large built "photographer" push through the crowd very roughly and shove my girlfriend and several other women up front to take photos. Putting the camera in peoples faces and just continuoulsy elbowing for at least 15 minutes. When I tried to say something to the guy I was told to "Shut the F up that he was doing his job and he didn't care what I paid for tickets or what time I got there" So if this was and independant agency terminal west would do better to set them up in a better area to take photos other than having them wade through the crowd. But other than that 15 min the show was great and the venue was awesome. read more
