I feel duped! When I called Terminix 6 months ago I was very clear on the phone that I wanted one or two treatments for an ant problem. I did not want a contract. I was assured that the "agreement" was not a contract and could be cancelled at any time. After receiving two treatments (both technicians were kind, timely, and seemed knowledgable), my ant problem was under control and I called the local office to cancel. I was transferred to a national call center where I was told (very rudely) that she could cancel the service, but the local office could still charge me for two more services not received and would send it to collection if I didn't pay! I again called the local office and was assured by a very nice person that she has never heard of their office charging for services not received. You have to wonder why this local franchise would want to be controlled by a corporation with such deceptive practices at the national level...one more reason to buy products and services from small, local companies. What sucks is that I was hoping to stay in good standing with the local office so that if I need treatment later I would have that resource. But after the treatment I got from their national office...FORGET IT! read more

This company charges a $350+ fee for "annual service" - which really means you pay them to inspect for termites even if they dont come out at all. My home was under contract for termites for 7 years and then, after seeing termite damage showing up I called, another company and had it inspected. They found active swarms and extensive damage. Terminix said they found "old damage", but not active, so they don't cover repairs. They never inspected the place for 4 years, but still billed me every year. RIP OFF. UPDATE: 02/2016 Took them to small claims court for the cost of remediation of the termite repairs and for the past 4 years of inspections the my never showed up for. They LOST and I got all my money back. Justice has been served! Keep away from this location! read more

If I could give a half-star I would. They'd get it solely for answering phones. We required termite treatment to close escrow, and they were quick to dispatch service. The professionalism swiftly dropped off from there. The insect inspector called BRIAN succeeded in making us feel uneasy about paying for their service, as he was quick to up-sell us to treatments that made no sense for our needs. When we tried to move forward with services, they could not meet the needs or expectations. . . . the dude didn't even show for the inspection and could not produce an estimate in time for us. We moved on, and were happy with the service of another company. It was great to have our time wasted by a company whose representatives boast millions in R&D, but cannot master the art of human communication (I'm being facetious, and you can laugh now). read more

We had a small pesticide company doing great work for us until last year when Terminix bought their company. Now you can't tell we're even using a pesticide company. Even worse, last week, one of their operators was at the house and tried to close a sliding door with a built in security lock that keeps it open 6 inches for the small dog, and he broke the door. When I called to file a complaint, he denied it and the phone operator took his word for it. I can't stay with a company that is dishonest, provides bad service, and has bad customer service on the phone. By the way, this is my first Yelp review. I usually don't complain, but we definitely got burned by Terminix. I wish I could choose zero stars. read more

Originally we were customers of Homefront Pest Control for a couple of years. From the in-person sales door pitch to our quarterly service performed by their technicians, customer service was outstanding. They were very proactive, courteous and reliable. I really liked this company and its employees. Then came the day a few months ago when we received notice Terminix acquired Homefront. Boy, we were bummed! Also quite concerned if we'd receive the same level of service. On the first Terminix visit, I tell the technician we're having problems with ants. He tells me that in order to spray our lawns, we would need to keep ourselves and pets off the grass for 3 days. I was like what!?!? Homefront used organic pesticides and we only have to stay off our lawns for a couple hours, not 3 days. Not so with Terminix so we had to forgo the ant treatment. Several weeks later, we noticed our backyard was becoming infested with black widows; both male and female. I contacted Terminix for a follow-up treatment. Only had to do this once with Homefront and that was in the very beginning. So the technician shows up and I point out all the black widow webbing in our backyard. Upon review a couple days after the follow-up service, I still notice webbing that has not been touched. Sure enough a couple weeks later our backyard is infested again with black widows. My wife wanted to cancel our contract but I said lets give Terminix another shot ; however, I did feel their quality of work was poor. By this time, we're do for another quarterly treatment. Unaware, the technician shows up at our house without a phone call or any notice. Because he can't get into our backyard due to our security fence, only the front yard is treated. We didn't find out about the visit until our credit card was dinged $99.00. I call Terminix informing them that our contract specifies both yards need to be treated and our backyard was not treated due to the locked gate. I also advised them that the technician never called or even left a notice that only our front yard was treated. (With Homefront, the technician always personally called and left a notice specifying work done including a receipt). Terminix scheduled a follow-up treatment yesterday in the afternoon to include the backyard. Well, to make a long story short no one showed up. So today I called Terminix cancelling our service with them. I let them know why and how far below the mark they are compared to Homefront. The only good thing Terminix did during our 4 months with them was apologize and promise to issue us a refund of $99.00, for the uncompleted quarterly treatment. I should have trusted my instincts and "terminated" doing business with them after our 1st experience... read more

Terminix customer service is awful. The local telephone number for Terminix is never answered which means that the call is rerouted to a customer service station somewhere far away. I was on hold for over and hour and hung up. On 6 May2019 Termininx did my annual termite inspection and found no termites. After being frustrated with customer service I decided to bring another local pest control company in to do a termite inspection on 12 July 2019. The technician spent 45 minutes in my attic doing the inspection. He provided me with date stamped pictures of the areas where he found termite dropping and damage.Some of the damage was older and other areas were more recent droppings. I have to assume that there was damage during the May inspection and was over looked. I found a business card from a previous Terminix inspection and called the cell number for the techican. I explained to the technician, Don that I had an inspection with another company and we have termite damage. He agreed to contact his manager. By late after noon his manager, George had not responded to the text. Prior to all of this I spoke to the customer service center three times about my account and each time I was told that they would elevate my concern to the local Terminix. If they did send my concern to the local office it was ignored. If I owned a Terminix franchise I would want my customers to be able to voice their concerns directly to the local office. The Customer call center cant handle all your calls when customers are waiting over and hour. read more

This company has been 100% great! I honestly don't understand the low reviews. I was with Antimite and since switching over haven't had a problem with booking or service technicians. Actually I just recently called about mice in attic. Paul has been awesome. He came out the next day right on time (and I actually had to move the appointment time on him). When I texted him to check the traps he was out the next day....right on time! They've all been friendly and reliable so I would definitely recommend this company. Ask for Paul. read more

Payment was made in OCT 2015 and they barely follow up on scheduling an appointment for attic insulation work. I call the sales man and he gives one date for installation work and they never show up. WORTHLESS. The provided a warranty, but when I scheduled they never didn't show up. They were supposed to be at my house between 8-10 am and then called at after 1 pm that they were getting supplies and still didn't show up. I've send text messages and left voicemails to their manager and no response. The call center is USELESS, the calls are answered over seas in Asia and they can't help you. They have the nerve to send me a bill. For what, they didn't show up and wasted my entire day. I don't know how to give them zero stars. GO WITH SOMEONE ELSE. Preventive care was necessary after construction and Greg was not only knowledgeable, but always shows up early with a grin and a handshake. In fact, he's usually earlier than I am. Terminix has a good service but it's made possible and better by technicians like Greg who are on the front lines. Had a great experience with Terminix for a bed bug infestation. The were able to come out very next morning, did a thorough inspection, and confirmed we needed treatment. Could schedule the treatment the very next morning and gave us lots of information in how to prepare. Best part was that Pete was super patient and helpful. This is the worst service. On the first appointment they showed up without all their equipment and so they needed to come back again. They came back a second time and still they didn't solve the bugs. I scheduled another appointment and waiting for 2 hours and 20 minutes and they haven't shown up. They were supposed to be here between 8-10 am, it's 10:25 and no one is here and no phone call or text. WORST SERVICE EVER. GO WITH ANOTHER COMPANY. DON'T USE TERMINIX!!! Terminix, awful experience. The technician showed up and I showed him an area where I had sprayed and killed some termites. Without making an effort to inspect my house or property, he immediately went into a sale pitch to have my house tented. When I told him I was hoping that I could avoid the tenting, he then tried to sell me 2 other monthly contracts that also had an annual fee. In the end he never did an inspection, never stepped foot into the house or walked the exterior of the property. He showed up and tried to sell me services without attempting to fully diagnosing or identifying the problem. The service and inspection they provide is a joke, this was a complete waste of my time. As I review the other Yelp ratings I see where many people have has similar bad experiences, however, I also see where some have given a 5 star rating and they list their technician by name and he is the same technician that showed up to my house. It seems strange to me that he did such a great job for them and did nothing of value when he showed up at my house????? read more

After 20 plus years with Terminix, we did not renew our policy with then last year. For many years, we had no complaint. We did not have complaints with the employees who made the yearly inspection for Terminix. In the late eighties, we started with Mission Termite, and they were bought out or merged with Terminix. Unlike the ad on TV, what we discovered, was that they said they could not go on a 2 -story house due to lack of insurance. On inspections, they would not go on the roof. In 2011, our painters found evidence of termites and our job had to be delayed because Terminix could not schedule a service. Finally, a manager came out and said he would do the work as his employees did not have insurance to work on the roof. We had two different paint jobs delayed because of Terminix scheduling. When we could reach them locally, we had better service. Our other reason for cancelling this long time service was that we can no longer contact anyone locally. We talk to service reps across the country. We cancelled our policy a year ago, and we got a letter yesterday stating that our coverage had expired. read more

They are like clockwork with the outside spray schedule but if you need to coordinate service inside, be prepared to wait. It's never fully conveyed to service tech that you scheduled inside service so when you finally get to your appt window, you receive a extra that service is "complete". When you call, they have to reschedule and set up another appt window. Really?? The kicker is when they drop a service receipt outside your door that says they completed work outside and inside your home!!! I'll be looking for a new company. read more

I'm leaving this review because even though my service was ok. I did notice that I was getting more bugs since my account was transferred over to Terminix, but that really isn't my issue. I called to cancel my account and was on the phone for 51 minutes. There is no reason that anyone should be on the phone that long for anything. Poor customer service at the corporate level. If I could give a minus 1 star I would. Misdiagnosed what bug had invaded my home. Had been a quarterly client for about 15 years on 2 properties and they charged me $1700 up front for killing bed bugs which were actually carpet beetle larvae. I paid a bed bug specialist in OC, who came out and could only find carpet beetle larvae. He only treats bed bugs. Technician from Terminix arrived completely unprepared, said he would "treat what he could." Didn't seem interested in making sure I was protected after I had spent 3 days clearing all baseboards, getting rid of any "clutter, and preparing for treatment. I sent him home and requested a credit of my $1700, because he didn't treat anything and really didn't know about carpet beetles. Called and cancelled the service, requested a refund because no one was knowledgeable enough about carpet beetle larvae, and what would be required to treat them to rid my home of the horrid creatures. Also cancelled my quarterly service which was very expensive. Supervisor called back and tried to lower the price. I kept telling him the price was not the point. The point was, they didn't have enough knowledge about the bugs with which I was dealing. He repeatedly tried to keep my service using the price as a bargaining point. Just didn't get that money was not the point. Supervisor called back saying I would have my $1700 refund in 5 days instead of 7-10 days originally quoted. It's been 5 days and no credit on my account. They will be hearing from me on Monday morning. Do not use Terminix. Not knowledgeable enough about different pests. Be sure any tech who comes to inspect and/or treat is licensed and knowledgeable. Do your own research carefully. read more

I have been attempting to get management at Terminex to JUST RETURN MY CALL. I had a technician at my home on 7/17 for an escrow item-Termite Inspection. The technician advised that there are NO active termites; however, there was a recommendation to fumigate on his report. Conflicting information in the report. No Termites BUT we would like you to pay us to fumigate? I was told that it was a marketing clause, then I was told it is a legal clause. I cannot seem to get Terminex to call me or to rectify the obvious contradiction in their report. We are trying to close on a loan. We cannot schedule movers, we cannot agree on a date for closing, we are in limbo -- all because of a conflicting report from Terminex AND the fact that no one has a sense or urgency or customer service to return my call. I began calling on 7/18. This may not be an extended time to wait for a return call -- it is now 7/20. BUT when a house closing hinges on a call from a manager from Terminex -- well it IS a long time to wait for a return call. How about some customer service??!! What could really take so long for a call? Leave the water cooler and tend to your customers! read more

Tech called last year to make appointment i said NO, and i told him the house sold and i do not live there any longer. Met with their representative, John 2 weeks before the fumigation date. When I asked for more bags, he brought me more but where they failed was the day they were to tent our house. They told us they'd be there between 8 a.m and 5 p.m. We waited until early afternoon. Apparently, they showed up around 3 but decided getting a good seal toward the back of the house would be difficult. What did they do? They neither called nor informed us of their decision until my husband called them when he drove by the house to see nothing had been done. We made sure everything to prepare the house for tenting had been done. After my husband called them, they just informed him that they are no longer going to do the job. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! Terminix' s unprofessional and unreliable practice, cost us an extra 2-night hotel stay for a family of 5!!!! Not to mention, boarding for our dog.If you are considering using this company...DON'T!!!!!!Use someone else!!!! In addition, after having had the gas turned off, whole house packed, I had to find another company who could do the job right away since we didn't want to be displaced any longer. The company I called quoted us $900 LESS than what Terminix was going to charge us. I was told by the new company we hired that by law, Terminix, or any company is required to give us, the customer a written termite report that we need to sign off on. We didn't receive one, nor did we get a call notifying us of when they were going to arrive and that they are no longer going to do the job. Bottom line, if you are looking for a reasonable, trustworthy and reliable company, Terminix is not it!!!!! read more

No wonder these guys have one star!!! I don't like to write negative reviews, but this place definitely deserves it. I found them on Tuesday 10/24/17 online, then I got a call next day,the sales rep was giving me $100 off of a $239 service which was $139 plus tax, I was fine with that $239 anyways,but I got an email saying the price is $203.05 ,then he said the earliest is gonna be Friday 8~12. So he got my CC info and he said he won't charge me till the technician show up, and he said I'll get a phone call to confirm the appointment, nope no phone call, so I decided to call on Thursday to make sure they show up on time, they said yes everything on time, so today Friday I woke up early to be ready bc they said 8-12 which usually time frame is 2 hours not 4, so I called in at 9:45 to ask them is everything is ok, kept me on hold for 18 min and then said oh your appointment is from 10-12, it's ok I was planning to wait till 12, so another hour goes by no phone call, so around noon I call again to see what's going on ? Nope they said they couldn't get a hold of the technician probably driving or with the customer, so I called again around 12:15 and the lady said yeah she should be there shortly, and I'm still waiting for a phone call, she said she talked to the supervisor so he's gonna call me, nope , nothing happened, I waited till 1:30 and no one showed up , so I called to talk with a supervisor and she said I'm gonna have the regional manager contact you to solve this issue, you guys wasted my day , I got to work almost at 3:30, it's 7 and I haven't received any phone call or email from these people. We have been having terminix come and spray at our home in the Rancho Santa Margarita area for quite some time now. They always call ahead of time to let us know when they will be here and they always show up when they say they are going to. Today the technician came out and his name was Chad Donatelli. What a nice guy! being that it's summer, we told him we've been seeing more spiders and ants outside, and also those disgusting big water roaches, or whatever the technical term is for them! He explained that sometimes those roaches come up through the sewers, which we have around the parking lot of our complex. So my husband asked if he could come in the garage and spray because that's where we have been seeing them now and then. Being that the garage is not airtight we think that they are coming in from the parking lot. He was more than happy to come in the garage and spray some what looked like little white pellets. And as always he gave the perimeter of the house a good spraying too. Just wanted to give Terminix a shout out in general, as we feel that them spraying the outside of our house really does control anything from getting in, and wanted to give Chad a shout out for being so nice and coming into the garage to spray. read more

My complaint is mainly about Terminex's call center. I called last Sat morning and was given a time for service later that day. My tenant in the house moved all of their kitchen dishes, food, etc out of the kitchen and then Terminex did not show up for the appointment. No one ever called from Terminex to tell me they would not be able to make the appointment. I called back and spoke to a call center supervisor who told be the appointment was never actually confirmed in their schedule. I told her the representative who gave me the time had agreed on a price and taken my credit card info which seemed strange if I had never scheduled an appointment. The supervisor told me that she would put a message in to the local (Dana Point, Ca area) Terminex manager to call me first thing this morning. I still haven't heard from anyone. I have now scheduled with Dewey's Pest Control and they did not ask me for a credit card number before scheduling an appointment. The exact opposite of what the call center rep did at Terminex. Do NOT make appointments or give your credit card info to Terminex's call center. Rather ask for a local rep to call you. They will probably be more inclined to get back to you if they don't get your credit card info first. read more

They were addressing my bills to the previous homeowner, due to mail forwarding, i never received the bills. They reported my account to collections, and once i learned of the issue i settled my account and was promised by Terminix that they would remove the collection from my account. I continued being a customer for 3 years only to find out that the collection was still listed on my account. I've dealt with the local and national customer service reps multiple times and assured each time it will be resolved. Now the local rep who promised to solve is no longer there and I cannot reach anybody who has any type of common sense to help me solve this issue. I have been a customer for over 13 years and I am done! I have them come out once a year since my last tenting. I need to re tent after my last inspection. I have called multiple times, each time they said someone would call me back by the end of the day, and each time they did not call at all. Each time you call, your on hold for at least 20 minutes. Find a smaller company who cares about your business. Frustrated customer to say the least. read more

I have called Terminix several times, asking them to cancel my service. They tell me they have nothing in their system that indicates that I have called, before, but they will be happy to cancel my service. Then, I get a note that their employee has been to my house and sprayed, again. And, they charge me, again. And, you guessed it: I call, again, to cancel, and the song and dance begins, again. That's a lot of, "agains." I have written a few other reviews on Yelp, both very positive. Point: I'm not likely to write a review, but when I do, it's a good one. I wish this was the case, but unfortunately, it's not! Though I may never get out of this hair-pulling loop without Legal Help, you can save yourself the misery, and just not sign up!
