Have been with Terminix for 20+ years, we have had issues with this branch for the past few years, missing appointments, failure to provide services paid for and billing us for the next quarter when providing the "Curtesy Interior visits". We have been trying to get a person from the branch for the past month w/o success and their customer service number continues to tell us there is nothing they can do to help and the branch has to follow-up. We have had 8 calls into the branch each time from the 23rd of April they are calling us back the "next day" but never call back. Escalations are dropped and techs fail to do their job exterior / interior. Just skip this company go with WesternPest or Viking it's not worth the $157 per quarter. read more

Terminex branch on American Road Morris Plains NJ is the worst. They do not return calls after they have your money. Service is incomplete when they come if you ask for a refund they say you have to talk to the manager who evidently is nonexistent because they never call back. Worst experience because instead of fixing the problem it got worse. At the job for 10 minutes but their notes say 2 hours. Just a bunch of thieves. Do not waste your money or time with them. Do not waste your time or money. Just stay away from Terminix. You will wait many days for the appointment, and on the day of the appointment, you will wait the whole day, and nobody will show up. You will then get a text message saying that the service was completed. You call them for the fifth time that day, and they don't even offer another appointment. They say someone will call you but you never hear from them. Yes, they occasionally show up, maybe 20% of the time. The first few times, you give them the benefit of the doubt. But after so many no-shows, you realize that they have no intention of doing what they promise. We are calling Orkin. When you Google Orkin, Terminix shows up first. They show up on Google, but not at your door. I wish we could terminate Terminix. read more

Incomplete Service / Payment Still Expected We agreed to a 3 month Exclusion Service for rodents that cost over $1200. The service was NEVER completed. The technician Chris refused to get up on a ladder to complete part of the service that his own Manager Juan identified as necessary. We contacted Juan numerous times to get the service completed and he even acknowledged that someone needed to come back. But, when the time came to schedule someone, Juan never responded to text messages or phone calls. So, the service was never completed. We disputed the payment with our credit card company and they agreed with us that we should not pay and they refunded our money. Then TERMINEX sent an email saying we still owed the money and are sending us to a collection agency!!! DO NOT USE TERMINEX! They do not complete their contractual obligations and still expect to be paid! Worst service ever! read more

Never use them, find a local company instead. I had signed up for quarterly exterior bee treatment- they came out once and then never came again. In the meantime, 2 large bee hives developed outside my house. 5 phone calls and weeks later no one still had showed up; each time I called I was assured a manager would call me back but no one ever called and then I was assured the manager of the manager would call me back and still no one called back. Finally technician showed up who had no idea about the 2 hives i was calling about. And then he only treated one of them. He was supposed to come back to a follow up treatment and again never showed up and no phone call from anyone. I highly recommend to not ever use Terminix read more

DO NOT USE TERMINIX -- Dishonest, Unresponsive, and a Total Waste of Time and Money We contacted Terminix in early July to resolve a serious bee/wasp issue in the ceiling of our second-floor bedroom. My husband clearly explained the situation to the phone representative, who confirmed that it wouldn't be a problem. We were told that someone would come out to assess and treat the area since the bees were entering from outside. A representative (likely a salesperson) came to our home, saw the wasps entering near the eaves on the second floor, and also heard them in our ceiling. He confidently told us they could take care of the problem with no issue. Based on that, we moved forward and paid $300 to schedule the service. When the technician arrived, I confirmed with him again that he'd be able to reach and treat the second-floor entry point. He reassured me that he had poles long enough to reach and repel the bees. He also told us it may take 2-3 treatments and that we should call him directly if the problem didn't improve. After the first treatment, the activity actually increased. We called him, and he came back. This time, he sent a photo of the area he treated -- but he was only spraying the first floor, nowhere near the second-floor entry point. We called the office again and explained that the technician wasn't addressing the actual source of the issue. On Friday, July 18, we requested to speak with a manager and were told one would call within 24-48 hours. We called again on Sunday and were told by a different rep that "she didn't know why anyone would confirm we could treat that," which makes no sense -- Terminix is a national pest control company.We were also scheduled for another visit Monday morning. We were told that a technician and manager would arrive between 7-9 AM on Monday. No one came. I called the office at 9:30 AM and was told there is no appointment for Monday it is Tuesday between 7-9 and she couldn't confirm if a manager was coming out or not. On Tuesday morning no one called or showed up with a manager present. I called the office at 9:30 and was told the visit was canceled because the technician "over-treated" the area and they needed to wait two weeks to come back. This completely contradicted what the technician had said -- that multiple treatments were normal and to call him anytime. Again, no one came and no one called. I called every single day from July 21 to July 29 and was repeatedly promised a manager would call me. I never received a single return call. Then I was told that a manager named Edwin or Edward had denied our refund request -- and worse, had written false information in our file, claiming that Terminix "can't go on ladders or treat active infestations," and that he called us -- which he absolutely did not. When I called again today (July 29), I told the representative that I have proof of everything: our security cameras recorded our in-person conversations, and I've recorded all of our phone calls with Terminix. None of this mattered. She confirmed that we would not be getting our money back and told me to stop calling, because "no one is going to call you back." We've since disputed the charge with our credit card company and filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. We also hired Adaptive Pest Control, and they've been the exact opposite of Terminix: professional, responsive, and honest. They're now handling our full home for pests -- no issues, no games. This has been one of the most frustrating and unprofessional customer service experiences we've ever had. If you value your time and money, do not use Terminix. They misled us, provided ineffective service, refused accountability, and ignored us completely after taking our payment. read more

The company says if you have an account, they will take care of issues within 24-48 hours. Last two times I called, it took over 6 business days to get help, with multiple calls. They are expensive, and don't care about customer service. I terminated my contract and they still took money out of my account this month. I have been using Terminix for basic insect control quarterly, I had some mice in the basement and decided to go with Terminix, BIG MISTAKE!!!!!!!!! first they charged me up front over 2k, I did take issue with this and ask how can you charge for something you haven't even done yet? but went forward. They literally plugged 2 small holes by garage (so they say) with a brillo like substance, some glue traps in the basement and two strips at the bottom of may garage doors. However he did break both doors !!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't want him to get fired so I repaired them myself. 2K? No f'in way!, So I still have mice (6 weeks later) and they are coming back again today hopefully to resolve this once and for all........I have no confidence in them and most likely will be looking for some kind of refund. The guy was nice enough, but then used every sales line possible to get you to use their termite extermination service. I worked in sales and saw every weak attempt to gain your business: "This is a nice house, it'd be a shame if the foundation collapsed." "Did you know that termite damage isn't covered by home insurance?." "Did you know that termites reduce a home value by x?" "Did you know that Terminix is the leading pest control provider? We're the experts." Then he goes to my basement, finds some wood chipping and goes "oh see there- termites. real bad." He continues to point stuff out and tells me that I definitely have a termite issue. When i said I'll think about it and let him know, he goes "What? Are you serious? Dont you want me to do this now? Did you know that termite damage isn't covered by home insurance?" I KNOW. YOU TOLD ME. GET OUT. ILL CALL YOU IF IM INTERESTED. I had two other pest control vendors come look at my house. They looked at the wood damage that the guy insisted was termites and they tell me it's just water damage- I dont have termites. Dont play yourself. This place is a mistake. read more

Terminix came to my home on August 18th and the exterminator tried pulling my dishwasher out, which can not be done unless you remove about 12 screws, , we finally got the door fixed and our m money back, because we had to pay to have the door fixed and then they would return us our money. It took a month to get our money back. Amazingly yesterday an exterminator from Terminix appears at our house wanting to spray again. I only asked for one-time spraying. The exterminator said he would tell his manager and left.. I can not believe the never of these people. I will never deal with this company again. If they try to have an exterminator come again I will bring this before the NJ Consumer Affairs. Enough is enough. read more

Absolute worst experience. After a power outage we are experiencing a rodent issue. We call Terminix, the worst mistake ever. In summmary, we had no shows, several appointments rescheduleD after we shifted our Saturday schedules (multiple times) to accommodate Terminix. Rude technicians, one by the name of John who couldn't care less about our issue. The tech that did come out put two traps and said good luck. We were double charged and now we have mice breeding in ceilings. We asked the company for a full refund. John said no they cannot do that. I am going to file a fraud case with our bank. We have 3 small kids who are afraid because we have a severe rodent issue now and I explained this to Terminix but no empathy showed. They came out to my house after I CANCELED the appointment and performed HALF the job (on a rainy day) and left me a FULL bill back in October. I refused to pay the bill since the service was not completed and the inside of my house was never done. Every week since (it is now February) I get harassed from their collections department trying to get payment. I have called the Roselle NJ branch mangers Jose Perrera and Rick Barbot SEVERAL times and they DO NOT call me back to even try to resolve the issue. I have a spreadsheet with the date & times of my phone calls to them over the last 4 months. Now I will be forced to pay the bill or it will ruin my credit. An awful way to do customer service. They should be ashamed of themselves. I will NEVER use their service again and will tell everyone I know (and alert the social media pages) to never use their service. read more

Terminix quoted 179.00 for carpenter ants for a first visit then 1/4ly 139.00 they would not take a check but wanted a credit card before visit. Then when we got the emailed bill (apparently they dont print them out) they over charged my 90 yr old dad by 60.00 bucks. 2 calls and 45 minutes on old , I was told it was our word against theirs, NOT they record the damn calls. When I told that to a supervisor, she said I will forward this to corporate,and email me our conversation. NEVER happened. This company is a real example of corporate greed. 60 bucks may not seem like a lot, but someone on a fixed income it is. REVIEW THE BBB COMPLAINTS RE: Cancel Contract 113809-062522144756-7760 Terminix Acct # - 14126528 I rarely ever write reviews about an organization, but I feel that it is my moral obligation to share my experience with Terminix. The reviews regarding Terminix, specifically the Terminix branch at 408 The American Road in Morris Plains NJ, making it difficult for customers to cancel their service agreements is, in my opinion, 100% true. I signed up for Terminix services on 6/25/2022. That evening I decided to read the reviews for the Terminix service branch referenced above and found an overwhelming number of complaints regarding the inability to cancel services. I read horror story after horror story about Terminix refusing to refund customers and most importantly denying them their state provided right to cancel the agreement within the cancellation period specified on the agreement. After reading the reviews, I immediately decided that I needed to cancel my service with Terminix and low and behold the branch manager at the Terminix service branch located at 408 The American Road in Morris Plains NJ, would not process or acknowledge receipt of my request to cancel in writing. My request to cancel was submitted not only within the cancellation window specified on the mutually agreed upon contract with Terminix, but it was also submitted before any services were rendered and yet, my service agreement, at the time of this review, still has not been canceled and I still have not been refunded. And what makes the matter even worse, each Terminix representative I have spoken to has advised that only the service branch manager can finalize a request to cancel BUT they cannot share his/her contact information. Why? My Recommendation 1. Allow customers to cancel service requests and appointments via their online Terminix portal 2. Ensure that all service requests cancellations are processed on the same day 3. Send an automatic acknowledgement of service requests cancellations 4. Encourage call-center employees to be more compassionate by three-way calling other Terminix departments that need to be involved in the cancellation process as opposed to transferring customers from department to department 5. Provide the respective Terminix branch manager's contact information, including their email address, to all customers who request this information. All of the customer service representatives I spoke to advised that the only person who could finalize the cancellation was the branch manager but they refused to provide me with the branch manager's contact information - why? I know this is a large company, but their service locations are franchises, so read all the reviews available to you as well as all BBB complaints/reviews before committing to them. I'm writing nearly a year later to let you know the service is still AWFUL. We have squirrels in our soffits again this spring and we called 3 weeks ago explaining the issue. I got an appointment 2 days later, took off work for this, and an inspector showed up not a technician. I told them the exact issue and yet they sent someone without the equipment required to do the job. So we scheduled for last Saturday. Given a window of 8-12. Sat at home on a gorgeous spring Saturday morning looking out the window for 4 hours anxiously awaiting Terminix's arrival so we could get out of the house and go do fun springtime stuff. NO SHOW. So of course after both of those incidents we called Terminix and probably spent 30 minutes each call with their Phoenix call center who transferred us to a "branch liason." Promised a smaller timeslot this morning. 8-10 am. Again a NO SHOW. Called to complain and they promised 12-2. Here it is 3:07 and again a NO SHOW. I was given their executive escalations number in Phoenix (which by the way is 901-597-3000). I'll call it Monday but I'm still planning to file a complaint with the BBB bureau and I'm looking into whether small claims court may be an option at this point. It's beyond frustrating being forced to waste your time waiting over and over again for a service that you have already paid for and that Terminix is contractually obligated to perform. Be warned. If you have an issue like wildlife in your attic or soffits just hire a local wildlife removal specialist. Don't let Terminix talk you into an "Exclusion" contract. Biggest waste of money (and time) ever. read more

They're scam artists. Unfortunately, they are just one dishonest company amongst thousands of dishonest companies in North Jersey. Don't fall for the expensive insurance they try and get you to purchase for thousands ---They don't fix the problem. Let's say there is a hole in your home that mice are coming through. They won't actually fix the hole itself. They'll tell you to get insurance for a few years and they'll put "traps" around. No details about the actual repair itself. The bigger the home, the higher the price of this bogus insurance. I wouldn't be surprised if they research you and your home (online) beforehand to see how much in taxes you're paying. So they can come up with a price for themselves. The only thing they are "accessing" is your wallet. So the moral of the story--- if you want to keep vermin and animals out of your home. It's best to call a contractor and construction people. Not exterminators like Terminix who want to "dance" around the true problem and charge huge insurance costs year after year. read more

My experience with Terminix was not good I called to get a termite inspection for the house I'm purchasing set up the appointment I showed up and waited for 2 hours only to get a call saying the guy they sent wasn't qualified to do the job so I'm not sure why they would send him to begin with then I set up another appointment with the guy who I guess was supposed to do the inspection only to get there wait again and he canceled on me because he needed more time to do the inspection not sure why he didn't plan that out when he had 3 days to do so I will not be using this company ever again and I hope who ever does has a better experience than me but I'm highly disappointed read more

Rating: 0 Stars Raid Bug Spray: $ 5.49 Terminix: $ 1400.00 THEY RIPPED ME OFF A $5.49 CAN OF RAID BUG SPRAY COULD HAVE SOLVED MY PROBLEMS. I paid Terminix $1400 and a year later my "carpenter ant" problem was still not resolved. There were many "Red Flags" warning me that hiring Terminix was a mistake. I called Terminix because I was terribly concerned that I might have a termite problem. I told the representative that I was seeing some "brown dirt" in the laundry room in my basement. The representative told me the problem was carpenter ants. He explained to me that termites eat wood and carpenter ants chew the wood and spit it out. I was not seeing anything that looked like wood shavings, I was seeing small piles of dirt. (Red Flag #1). The representative told me that the "special price" he was supposedly offering me was only good "today" and I needed to make payment. (Red Flag #2). I was worried, so I made the payment. He told me that he would email me a copy of the contract. (Red Flag #3). What was I thinking? I never received a copy of the contract. I realized the following Spring that my credit card was being charged monthly. I was not analyzing my credit card bills like I should have been. It occurred to me -- bugs are dormant in the fall and winter, aren't they? (Red Flag #4). And don't forget the Bait Stations. Another stupid Terminix "money-maker". At the 1-year mark I hired a local pest exterminating company. They sprayed my property to kill the "pavement ants" in my basement. There wasn't anything in my home trying to destroy it. It was a nest of those minuscule brown ants that most people are familiar with. Terminix never treated my property or the problem would have been solved after one treatment. THEY DIDN'T DO A THING!!!! I COULD HAVE SOLVED MY PROBLEM WITH A CAN OF RAID BUG SPRAY. I regret that I didn't walk away when I was prompted to make payment "on the spot". read more

DO NOT GET INSULATION SERVICE WITH Terminix!!! I bought my house 4yrs ago as soon as i moved in i noticed i needed insulation. Well i called terminix because they had a deal going on that got my attention. Now when i called i wanted them to do the service and explained i didn't want the insulation to be that crappy blown in type. I left the house to run some errands and left my family home with the installer, i came back and my family told me they were all done, thinking they had done the job right i didn't think much of it. 6 months later after Christmas past and now i had stuff to put in the attic. I have never gone up there before and its my first house but what i saw was a clip out of a horror movie, not only did the put what i asked not to do but they also did not inform me there was stuff in the attic and sprayed all the insulation on top of what ever was up there. I called them back about what happen but it was to late they had my money and no intention of making right. DO NOT TAKE THIS SERVICE WITH THEM ITS A SCAM!! Stay away, they try to rob your money. I was on their protection plan. Was advised to treat my home to reduce the mouse risk by their sales person, because I have "MANY" cracks in my 2006 built home. The technicians came and find no cracks needed to be sealed. I insist them to reinforce the craw space vent mesh, so they made another trip to do it. Same job from contractor quoted for $250. They charged my credit card without my authorization for $900. I disputed and paid them $300. But they keep sending me the invoice for the remaining $600. Have to go the small claim court to sue them. By the way, I don't have mouse issue in my home, but the sale very certainly told me I have mouse activity. The reason I contact them is I heard mouse squeaking in the kitchen, but finally find out the sound is from the notification of an APP called "talking Tommy". read more

This company, service and customer service is absolutely awful, the worst, stay away from them. They hooked us into a plan to treat a small home for mice and cost almost $1,000 for a year only and they barely did anything but set mice traps. Then they come an inspect and just walk around and do more of nothing. The 2nd inspection we rescheduled via phone because no one would be home and they came on the appointment date anyway and could not get in. So, they looked around for 5 minutes outside (according to their note) and left. i spoke to an operator physically on the phone to change the appointment and wrote it down, they never showed up and when i called they had no record of the appointment change or my call ! So, i reschedule it again and they tell me that they can't get in touch with the technition and i will hear back in a few days! What is wrong with these people - they don't have a phone, e-mail or text to contact the technition? i am still trying to reschedule this and i called another number the tech left on the sticky note and the supervisor hung up on me. This company is just awful, they take your money and the customer service is the worst. Go with any other company than this one. read more

NEVER USE FOR ATTIC INSULATION The initial contract with Terminix Intl. was for proper removal and replacement of attic insulation in my home. On 6/19/20 Al Ortiz, representative of Terminix - Morris County branch, was sent to my home for an inspection and sales consultation. The services were explained to me in person as the following 4 steps: 1.) Bagging in attic and removal of existing fiberglass insulation rolls for disposal 2.) Sanitization of the attic from prior infestation of mice, etc. before new insulation 3.) Filling of any cracks, crevices, or points of entry for future pest or rodents before new insulation 4.) New Terminix insulation to be installed professionally (pieces not rolls - method not specified) The outcome of the services that day were as follows: * Step 1: Insulation not properly bagged in the attic from garage, dining or kitchen attic * Insulation piled onto personal items in garage. Direct inclusion of new lawn mower, Christmas tree in box w/ open top, rolled up interior carpet, and surround sound stereo equipment. * Dust clouds resulting in my garage and home, which settled and contaminated all areas * Step 2: Neither attic spaces sanitized following removal * Step 3: No action to fill/address any entry points or areas of concern for pests/rodents prior to new install * Step 4: New insulation blown in from a truck - shredded pieces and particles (not actual pieces as described) covering all joists, electrical, and A/C units in the attic * Subsequently the particles entered the remainder of my home and continue to this current day to fall like light snow through my recessed lighting, duct work and air intakes. * Further irreversible damage was done to wood furniture when Lysol wipes were used to wipe some of the dust off after I complained to the job supervisor and voiced my concerns. The exact amount in dispute is $4,691.50 inclusive of the tax. To be clear, the contract was done in person at my home via conversation with Al Ortiz on 6/19/20 and signatures produced electronically on a dark screened tablet pad. No specifics were viewable at that time. My debit card was provided at the time for the pre-authorization. Later copies of the docs were sent to me via email. To say that the job was not complete is an understatement. I have made more than several attempts to contact management of all levels within Terminix and have had not a single reply. Once the dispute is resolved I intend to contact BBB and see this complaint through to hopefully save another victim from their scam. I will not let this go - so if Terminix would like to resolve this they can start by CALLING ME BACK. read more

Called and made a complaint they apologized and gave me July 19th between 5-7 again no sure. If you have a termite issue I suggest you look for another company this one is nit reliable.
