We arrived at 8PM and the restaurant reeked of smoke. The air was hazy and our eyes were burning. None of the staff addressed this even though the entire restaurant was affected and many were coughing. An alarm went off more than once for several minutes, which the manager was unapologetic about and claimed to be unrelated to the smoke. At 9:15PM, before our food had arrived, our server informed us that the fire department had directed them to close the restaurant and everyone had to leave. We never got our entrees, and the manager not only did not offer to cork our bottle of wine to-go, but suggested that we should still pay for it. Terrible service, mediocre overpriced appetizers, and truly the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. Manager was overwhelmingly disappointing and rude. read more

What a delightful evening. We couldn't have been happier. I honestly almost hate to leave this review because I don't want to create a crowd. 1) Outdoor seating is fantastic, especially now during COVID. There are heavy-duty heaters on the ceilings. The view and decor are lovely. All the staff wears masks. A+ 2) Our waiter knew the menu well, could answer all questions and let me taste wines to pick the one I liked. A+ 3) All menu items we tried were stellar. The grilled lamb skewers were lightly charcoaled on the outside, tender and super flavorful. I loved the hint of chili flakes. They were served on rustic grilled bread. We also loved the tender prosciutto and crisp grilled pears. The squash ravioli with walnuts was meltingly fresh with a subtle cream sauce. The wagyu ragú pappardelle was some of the best I've ever had, even in Rome, with al dente pasta. 4) Portions were perfect. This is a place to delight in flavors, like all European restaurants. Extremely disappointed with quality, experience. I had high expectations and for a price point of $220 for 4 adults on brunch I should. Took 20 minutes for our drinks and they came out one at a time. I understand shortage in staff however there were more servers than patrons. The restaurant was 1/4 full. Our server took the order and that was about it until the bill was delivered . Even then she didn't pick up the credit card a manager did. Food was bland, tasteless, smaller portions which I don't have a problem with but quality was not worth the price. Worst meal I've had in along time. We will shop the grocer but not dine here in the future. read more

The overall experience was disappointing. I loved coming the first time for happy hour with delicious apps and cocktails.. dinner did not bring the same joy especially for the price-point. The menu was confusing (thought I ordered a dish with white wine sauce that came red?) and wait staff was difficult to understand and communicate with. He hardly came by to refill drinks. I was a little nervous about this place after some recent reviews, but could not have been more impressed and pleased with the entire experience. I went with my wife for an early valentines lunch/brunch. We were immediately sat even though we were a few minutes early for our reservation. The dining room has tons of natural light and greenery hanging to make the space feel inviting. Server immediately came over for water orders and with house bread (the free kind not the $8 bread on the menu) then we ordered the natural wine flight and a greyhound from the breakfast cocktails menu. Started with the meat and cheese board which for $35 was actually a good sampling of meats and cheeses. Then my wife went for the Terra toast on the brunch menu and I had the rabbit agnolotti. The French toast was massive and had a delicious apple compote and the whipped ricotta was honestly insane my pasta was perfectly Al dente and the simple butter sauce was on point. Finished with a whiskey cocktail from the "smoked" section. It came with some smoked sweet pecans which accentuated the drink nicely. I would not mind the recent reviews as it seems they may have worked some service kinks out as we never had to wait long for food, refills, or anything else. First: the parking. The lot in front of Eataly's was completely full even though it was early in the day (restaurants not yet open). This was partly because SO many spaces were reserved for valet parking. Which practically forced us to use valet parking (yes, we could have hunted for the garage, but we didn't). Cost $9 PLUS $1 service fee (WHAT?) PLUS tip (recommended $3). Grrr. Up we went to Terra where the jolly waiter explained that "everything is kissed by the grill." Wow! A smooching grill! Two of us were settling on the impossibly priced ($49 for lunch!) whole grilled branzino, but after inquiring about "Terra potatoes" (they are fried), we asked if cannellini beans could be substituted. With regret, our waiter explained that "the chefs are very strict about no substitutions." To which I gave my opinion: "Tell your tempermental chefs that for $49 a plate, they should accommodate substitutions." We ordered the chicken. And we won't be going back. Bottom line: This place is overpriced and full of itself. read more

There were a few hiccups with drinks and the evening sun in our eyes, but once the food came to our table our smiles came back. All four of us devoured salads, appetizers and main dishes. My eggplant appetizer was creative and delicious. Our friends shared their sausage appetizer, and charcuterie platter which was also delicious. Our pasta entrees were excellent, especially my husbands pasta with sausage. We received a complimentary dessert, and it was a wonderful creamy delight. Honestly 1 star is too many for the experience we had at Terra. I have quite literally never had such a bad dining experience from start to finish. The tone for the evening was set immediately upon arrival when we were greeted by two incredibly rude hostesses. Mind you, we had a reservation and were on-time so not sure what the root of their rudeness was. Our drinks arrived with our dinner after 45 minutes of waiting (including the wine we ordered....which just had to be poured). Now, I know everyone is short staffed and I'm incredibly forgiving- but our waiter never addressed the fact that our drinks came out so late or offered any sort of explanation or apology. To add to it, our pasta was undercooked and I didn't even touch my food, which was also never addressed by our waiter. Overall, the food was overpriced for the quality and the service was terrible. Save your time and money and go literally ANYWHERE else in Dallas to eat....the Sonic at the Northpark food court will treat you better read more

Terra has a really nice and relaxing vibe and a unique menu. I had the lamb and it was really flavorful and tender, although overcooked for medium rare. What an incredible Mother's Day experience for a party of 12 from ages 2 to 72! We were blessed to have one of managers, Chelsea Reynolds, oversee our time at Terra. Our time far exceeded expectations, and we have been to Eataly several times. The charcuterie board was exceptional. The steak and egg dishes were perfectly prepared. However, nothing tops the tiramisu and its presentation. We loved the ambience, the sounds and the smoky smells. It was an American twist on our previous trips to Rome and Venice. The menu is comprehensive; anyone can find their own favorite offering. Even so, nothing tops special service orchestrated by Chelsea! Eataly is grooming the right people to personify their brand. We were there to celebrate a milestone birthday, and I was talked into ordering 2 cakes from their bakery with custom inscriptions for the occasion in order to avoid the $5/slice cutting fee if we brought our own. I had pre-paid for the cakes a week in advance, talked to guest services the day before to confirm, let the hostess know when we checked in and told the waiter when he asked about dessert. In the end, no cakes and no one even told us until we had waited for 20 minutes for them to bring them out. In addition, the service was extremely SLOW (we were there for 3 hours and only had a party of 7) and half of our party had to leave before we could even get the check. We were at a table in the back by a window, and it was still so loud in there you could only talk to the 2 people next to you. We spent almost $700 on dinner and drinks, and they wouldn't even give us a discount since they said the restaurant and bakery were separate entities. The manager said he would call me today but hasn't, and I still haven't been reimbursed for the cakes. The whole experience was a disaster! Our table was stuck in a corner, very close to the next table: it was like having dinner with another couple. As soon as we sat down (2 people) they brought 3 slices of cold bread on a dessert plate with some olive oil. We ordered appetizer drinks that were only served right before we got our food. The beet salad was horrible ( too many nuts) no dressing or seasoning of any kind: I had to ask for salt to try to make it better, but it didn't help much. The carpaccio looked bad and again, no seasoning. Then , our server told us their portions were "family style" so we could order one pasta and one protein to share. So we did. The problem was that they were not " family style" portions, they were a regular single American portion - not Italian - to be divided by two and would have been OK if... they served the pasta ( we ordered sea food) AND the beef AT THE SAME TIME !!! The the choices were to eat the pasta first and the meat cold or (even worse !!!) to eat them at the same time. Now, back to the food: the "sea food pasta" was a bowl of pasta NOT COOKED ENOUGH ( not al dente, less cooked) covered with with a regular tomato sauce (no sea food flavor) and some shells , probably cooked in water, no flavor) put on top. AMAZING !!! The beef was already cold when it got to the table ( we tried it as soon as we got it) and the potatoes that came with it were so over baked and dark and dry, that you could hardly tell they were potatoes ( BTW, no seasoning) . So, we wonder, what is the the big deal about this place? Why D Magazine dedicated a whole page (it shows a pasta dish with truffles that looks amazing!) to it??? read more

Let me begin this review with the one positive thing I have to say about Terra, It is truly a beautiful setting. They sat us as soon as we walked in. We (party of 2) sat for about 30 min before someone even spoke to us. And when this person (who come to find out wasn't our waiter) speaks to us, he decides to tell us since we don't speak Italian we must need more time deciding what we would like to order. And before having a moment to respond, swiftly walks away, leaving us with our mouths agape. We sat for another 15 min without so much as even a drop of water. When our waiter comes to the table, we realize he's been hovering around our section since we had been seated. We promptly ask for water and place our entire order. It was almost an hour from the moment we were seated, until we received our food. We asked for the check when we got our meal thinking we may have never seen our waiter again. While reviewing the check, we realized he had up charged us for our starter by giving us grilled bread. To sum up this review the service is terrible and the food is adequate. Save your money and go somewhere else. The service we received reflected an Olive Garden price point. At least when you're there you're family. read more
