East Coast Oysters w/horseradish cocktail sauce and cranberry mignonette
    Veronica R.

First time at Hudson House and it did not disappoint! We started with a half dozen East Coast oysters (served with horseradish cocktail sauce and cranberry mignonette), that were so refreshing and tasty on a hot summer afternoon. Our server was very knowledgeable and steered us toward a few featured items on the menu. French Chicken was served with a salad and small fries. The chicken was super moist and so flavorful. The crispy seasoned fries and bright Jacks Salad were a perfect paring. Can't wait to return!

The sushi was the most amazing thing I have tasted in a long while. THE MONTAUK ROLL was filled with crab, tempura flake, avocado, hamachi & salmon, lemon, truffle - no rice. Brilliant! The best thing we had of the night. The fish tacos were good as well. I also had key lime pie which was not the best in my opinion - it had a fall taste to it with caramel and vanilla whipped cream. It was a different take but I prefer a more tart, Emeril Lagasse style version personally.

Dinner for two on a Thursday Excellent service. Great ambiance. Great martinis. Started with the avocado dip, which was good but very little dip and not inexpensive. Not really shareable. Also had a dozen delicious oysters. For entrees the French chicken and redfish. Redfish and broccoli were not as good as usual. A bit overcooked this time but ok.

Came here for lunch with my cousins as one them claims that this is her favorite place to go to. Oysters (5/5): For Texas, I would not have imagined they would be famous for theirs oysters. However it was great. They were very plump and sweet. Fish Tacos (4/5): This was more like a burrito tbh. It was comforting

You come here for the oysters and the cocktails. This place is some of the freshest oysters in the area. The service is pretty spot on at this location. The drinks were on point. The staff were super friendly and the place is well cleaned. The bathrooms were the only thing that could of use a Lois Tres Bottle for mouth wash to up their game.

Went for happy hour. The bartenders were extremely nice and polite, and the oysters were delicious. I like a very briny oyster, and these met that perfectly.

Hudson House remains my go to restaurant of choice. No matter what I'm craving I know I can find it here. If I'm looking for something on the lighter side, my go to is the red fish, or if I'm looking to treat myself, the burger is hands down the way to go (in my opinion this is one of the best burgers in town). You have to get the chocolate silk pie. This has become my hyper fixation dessert and I cannot recommend it enough! The chocolate explosion (very rich) combined with the crumble topping and cookie like crust is unbeatable. My favorite appetizers include the spicy popcorn chicken and the shrimp dynamite (but be aware not all locations have the shrimp).

So I've heard a million good things about the cheeseburger here, so I decided to finally give it a try today! I ordered the cheeseburger and the truffle parm fries. The burger was solid! It honestly reminded me of an elevated version of a McDonalds double cheeseburger. The Truffle parm fries kinda threw me off a bit. They had an odd chemical taste to them. I can't really identify what it was, but they definitely seemed a bit off. So that was a bummer. But hey, all in all, it was a solid meal. I just wasn't blown away, as I have been with other items on the menu. On the brightside, the customer service was fantastic so I appreciated that. Next time I come, I'll definitely stick to my old faithful, the French chicken!

Well I came in 10 minutes till last call to get a salad to go. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. They gave me suggestions and I ended up going with the Ahi tuna salad. The whole place looked well run and clean, can't wait to come back soon to eat inside and enjoy the ambiance of this place.

So happy to finally try this place out! I got 2 each of the 4 types of oysters, personally preferred the Maine ones because the MA ones were very salty. The sauces that came with them were great but I wished there was more lemon. French chicken - beautiful presentation; the chicken was probably sous vide cooked first? Very tender, and the fries were perfect. The sauce for the arugula salad wasn't too overwhelming.

The shrimp appetizer and lobster roll were amazing. Fries have the perfect amount of seasoning. Great lunch spot!

We went for dinner on a Friday to enjoy the gorgeous Dallas weather, sitting on the patio. Service was perfect as usual, seldom a problem with service. I had my usual La Carolina straight up while the wife tried something new, some kind of sweet drink with coconut milk and lime. I don't know the name but she loved it. The kid had Topochico ($6 for bottle, ouch!) The kid had the small guacamole and it is a generous portion with very good quality avocado and a slice on top. There is a small side of roasted poblano pepper that is quite spicy but delicious. I "stole" it from the kid and put on my tacos. Perfect. I had my favorite "Old Fashioned" tacos with flour tortillas and loved them. You two to an order for $17 plus red rice and Cole slaw. It's more than enough food. The ground beef is seasoned perfectly and I love it. I wish I knew what spices they put in that beef so I could make it at home. The wife tried the tacos al pastor with adobo chicken and fresh pineapple. She loved it. The chicken was tender and not dried out. The flavor combo was perfect. Overall, really a perfect meal. Great weather, great ambiance, great service, and great food. Can't wait to return,

Parking wasn't bad either, there are lots and a garage nearby. However, the food itself fell flat for me. We ordered the crispy chicken happy hour special, which comes with a side salad. The chicken was on the dry side. Whenever I order Kaarage, it usually comes with a dipping sauce, but there was none here and that would've really helped out. The dressing on the side salad was way too acidic, making it hard to eat as well. In addition, we ordered the takoyaki as an appetizer. The takoyaki themselves were pretty solid, but the texture of the mayo was off. I'm not sure if they make their mayo in-house, but i noticed it was curdled. EDIT: after reading the restaurant's response, the texture I noticed was because it's an egg tartar sauce For the ramen, we ordered Jinya Tonkotsu Black and Creamy Veggie Ramen. Pricing is standard for DFW ramen restaurants, although *slightly* higher than some others (by like $1). The base ramen comes with a good variety of toppings! However, the ramen was just okay. The noodles are on the skinnier side, which I prefer thicker, chewier noodles. The pork chashu serving was small, and it tasted kind of old and wasn't that tender nor flavorful. The broth was just alright. I prefer soft-boiled, jammy ramen eggs, but the ajitama here was cooked longer than I would've liked. Ironically, I thought the veggie ramen was *much* better. The broth had better flavor, and they use different noodles than the tonkotsu, which were thicker (and exactly what I like!). Lastly, we had the matcha tiramisu for dessert. On a positive note, the matcha flavor was detectable. However, the tiramisu crème wasn't that fluffy, and there were noticeable amounts of undissolved sugar.

I had booked a reservation on Resy and we were seated immediately in a small, intimate booth. Initially, it was not terribly loud, but as the evening progressed and several large parties were seated nearby; the sound of the music was completely drowned out. I think more noise abatement measures could be taken to absorb some of the obtrusive loudness we were getting. For a starter, we ordered the Calamari. It was fried perfectly and was great, but the Thai Sticky sauce was too sweet and the consistency of the sauce was thin. It needed something to make it more viscous, and a secondary sauce, like a marinara or even an aioli would've been nice to balance out the sweetness of the Thai sauce. For an entree, I ordered the Maple- Ginger Salmon. The salmon was cooked perfectly and itself was delicious, but the sauce was too sweet and rich. The fired rice that accompanied my meal was over-the-top salty. It was almost going into "too much" territory. For desert we split the Passion Fruit Ice Cream Pie. This was actually very good and not overly sweet. It was my favorite item from my meal. Overall Renny's truly employs a lot of care and attention to the food, but some of the items crossed a line into "too much" territory. Be it sweetness or saltiness, the kitchen could exercise a bit of restraint to let the flavors of the food shine.
