If I'm looking for something on the lighter side, my go to is the red fish, or if I'm looking to treat myself, the burger is hands down the way to go (in my opinion this is one of the best burgers in town). You have to get the chocolate silk pie. This has become my hyper fixation dessert and I cannot recommend it enough! The chocolate explosion (very rich) combined with the crumble topping and cookie like crust is unbeatable. It honestly reminded me of an elevated version of a McDonalds double cheeseburger. The Truffle parm fries kinda threw me off a bit. They had an odd chemical taste to them. I can't really identify what it was, but they definitely seemed a bit off. So that was a bummer. But hey, all in all, it was a solid meal. Honestly, I was blown away. This restaurant is in a strip mall, but it would wreck most restaurants in NYC at a much higher price point. They fly their fish in from Hawaii , have an exclusive oyster vendor and, mid-martini, they swap your drink into new frosty glasses. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and very passionate about explaining the food and menu items. However, the food itself was insane -- I couldn't get over the pressed ahi tuna roll. I'm flying back to Texas just to eat here again. I travel a lot (10 states in the last month), and by far, this is the best meal I've had in 2026. read more

The food quality was exactly as my local neighborhood Hudson house and the ambience was just as good as well. The service was super hospitable and responsive without being overbearing. I almost always have to get the rock shrimp appetizer. I highly recommend it as it is not super heavily coated and is just the right amount of batter to shrimp. I ended up getting the lobster roll, which was super tasty. I particularly like how when they serve their soft drinks, they serve them to you in a really cool chilled glass! So I'm not HUGE on fish, but trying to be healthier overall with my choices when I go out on business lunches. You guys. The salmon. The fish tacos. Oh my goodness! When I first read "broiled" fish I was like hmmm I'm not sure about this one, so instead chose the "blackened" fish tacos, which is actually a burrito in my opinion, and my coworker got the salmon so we shared. Hands down, best place I've had for both the redfish and salmon in a loooong time. Ask for extra green sauce when you order the fish tacos and the side Cole slaw is soooo good. This review is specifically for the server that waited on us yesterday evening. She is in her 40s-50s with short, blonde hair. From the moment that we were seated, and throughout our meal, it was clear that our server was in a very bad mood. She had a flat, almost angry countenance the entire time. She did not respond whenever we spoke to her. We were very polite in our interactions with her. When we decided to order dessert, she rudely informed us that she would not wait on us anymore and sent over another server. We assumed that she was leaving, so we were quite surprised to see her in the restaurant 10-15 minutes later. We paid $40 at a very nice steakhouse for 12 much cleaner, better quality oysters. 6 extra oysters + 6 cocktail shrimp weren't worth the extra $45. It wasn't bad, but I wouldn't order it again. I stopped by the Hudson House at the Preston Forest location on a Friday - Jan 9, 2026, evening to pick up a to-go order of my favorite truffle fries. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. As soon as you walk in, the entrance opens directly into the dining room, and there is no designated area to wait for takeout orders. The only options are an enclosed patio, waiting outside, or sitting in your car. That evening, I stood at the bar area with two friends, making sure we were not blocking any walkways. After waiting about 10 minutes, a man who appeared to be a manager approached me in a rude manner and asked if I was ordering a drink. I explained I was waiting for my to-go order. He then told us this was a bad place to stand and asked us to move to the patio so he could seat another guest. His tone was unprofessional and dismissive. The layout of this location is also a major issue. The entrance and exit share a narrow doorway, creating overcrowding. I observed older patrons with physical disabilities struggling to get through, which raised concerns about accessibility and safety. Overall, the customer service was poor, and I was made to feel like an inconvenience simply because I was not dining in. I will not be returning to the Hudson House at Preston Forest. I have been to Hudson house many times at various locations in Dallas, however, this visit left me entirely disappointed. read more

To get me to write a review, the experience really must be awful - and believe me, it was! I had a chicken parm. Somehow, they managed to make it sweet like ketchup and saltier than the Dead Sea. To boot, the rice in the sushi was rock solid, almost as if it were made days ago. Further, there was so much crappy sauce that I wasn't sure if there actually was any fish. We also got a lobster Mac (we saw two slivers of lobster, so it really was just Mac at an egregious price) - talk about a grift! Service was horrible and incredibly slow.
