Service was quick, friendly, no fuss. The kind of place where nobody's trying too hard, which is usually when things turn out just right. The food? Lord have mercy. Every bit of it. And the atmosphere--well, it had character without trying to beat you over the head with it. That's a rare combination these days. Most places either feel like a museum or a storage unit. The wine selection was not what my husband or I would like to drink with a nice dinner, but when we asked our waiter if there was a more extensive list she was able to check the back and came out with a delicious wine (Caymus) that we both love and were so glad they had on hand. The pricing for the bottle was also excellent, not an extravagant up charge. Julia was our waitress both evenings and she was absolutely fabulous, excellent taste in meal choices and so attentive. With covid having made some of the dining options at Wintergreen close it was so nice to have this location available for a nicer meal. Our first night we enjoyed the chefs special broccoli/cheese soup, Pear & Goat Salad, chefs special of Duck, and the Classic New York Style Cheesecake. All were FABULOUS.
