They have an impressive wine and beer selection, sodas and water too. Their outside setup is very nice with tents for shade, comfortable plastic chairs with cup holders and fake grass a little ambience. The service was a little slow at first but then were very attentive and helpful. The inside is immaculate and the bathroom was very clean (always a plus and positive sign). We got the chips and onion dip to start which were yummy! Then we got a Turkey sandwich and a club sandwich. Both were delicious and stuffed full, we could only eat half. We got a coke and a Veil Brewing Co. IPA to drink. The Veil is one of the best brewing companies on the East Coast and not easy to find outside of Richmond, VA. From the moment we walked up, the staff working the booth were incredibly welcoming, energetic, and knowledgeable. Even with the festival crowds, they took the time to chat with us about their vineyard and walk us through the tasting. We walked away with a couple of bottles of the Petit Verdot and will absolutely be planning a trip out to visit their actual winery soon.

The wine tasting was nice. With large parties you are given a flight to try. No need to stand in the tasting room. I liked several of the flavors. After the tasting we took a walk around the grounds taking in all the animals. Because it was winter, we didn't spend a lot of time in the lavender fields. We did however visit the lavender shop. I purchased a lavender honey spot and some delightful lemon crunch lavender ice cream. Overall staff were friendly. I would recommend this business for anyone in the area or visiting massanutten.

You really get to enjoy an immersive, interactive experience on the farm. There is something for everyone, from interactive gardens and live animals. The best for a cute little DIY wine tasting. You can bring your own charcuterie platters, which is what we did to go along with our tastings. They have tasting room called the Purple Wolf Vineyard where you can purchase your portable tastings, wine, beer and slushy flights . I started researching various wineries and vineyards along the Monticello Wine Trail, because we had stayed at B&B in Charlottesville once a number of years ago. I settled on Afton Mountain Vineyards and I am SO glad we found it. We booked an overnight stay in one of their cabins. The very modern, well-appointed cabins can be rented even on weekdays when the winery itself is not open for tasting hours (we checked in yesterday, on a Wednesday). A sleepover at a winery! What a great thing to add to my summer adventures! The whole property is beautiful; very peaceful and serene. We enjoyed wine we had purchased earlier in the day on the back porch last evening and then coffee this morning. Our checkout time was 11:00 this morning, so we headed to the tasting room then. I wanted to try their Albarino wine. We purchased two glasses from a lovely employee in the tasting room, and sat outside for over an hour just soaking in the gorgeous scenery. They have thought of every amenity.
