Located in the Wintergreen Resort of Virginia, the food was excellent and service was very good. It was not busy as Summer may not be the optimal time of year to go here. The restaurant is at the top of a Ski mountain, so probably winter is better (maybe that's why it's called Wintergreen? duh) I had the Prime Rib Special. It was excellent. My wife had the Salmon and it was also excellent (I had a taste). Our friends had the Jambalaya and Crab Cakes. No complaints from them. Not much to see from our seats, but there were tables with nicer views. Overall good experience. Would return if I stayed here again.

Stopped in for breakfast on a Sunday in August. Service was very good. The view is fantastic. Food was good but nothing special. We had a breakfast sandwich and a full breakfast thing. The potatoes were tasty - crispy and well-seasoned. Everything was basic and unremarkable. Very few vegetarian options. I had to order a breakfast biscuit without the meat and the bacon jam, but the price doesn't change. There was only one vegetarian option on the menu - a quinoa bowl. I suppose a veg omelette would also be a possibility. We had fun, but I wouldn't go again.

Do yourself a favor and don't go. Service is terrible, wait staff can't speak English and food was just as bad.

We decided on the Green Room because we had not been there in a long time. We were very happy with the menu selections of appetizers, sandwiches and salads. They have an impressive wine and beer selection, sodas and water too. Their outside setup is very nice with tents for shade, comfortable plastic chairs with cup holders and fake grass a little ambience. The service was a little slow at first but then were very attentive and helpful. The inside is immaculate and the bathroom was very clean (always a plus and positive sign). We got the chips and onion dip to start which were yummy! Then we got a Turkey sandwich and a club sandwich. Both were delicious and stuffed full, we could only eat half. We got a coke and a Veil Brewing Co. IPA to drink. The Veil is one of the best brewing companies on the East Coast and not easy to find outside of Richmond, VA. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch experience here!! Great job!!

And then, not only do they have beers, but also high quality sodas, like San Pellegrino. What's not to like?

I think they're gradually changing everything over from the previous owner? The drive in is very windy- just when you think you've gone too far, you see another sign saying "this way!". Either way the tasting room is lovely and VERY DOG FRIENDLY, even inside which I love! Their wines were GOOD and the people running the counter (I think the gentleman was one of the owners and the young lady working beside him was a very friendly employee!) were so knowledgeable and fun to talk to! The grounds are just stunning. We loved playing with Buck the winery dog (and he and my own dog ran around having a blast!). The grandkids playing on the hill were fun to watch- it was just a beautiful day and we really enjoyed ourselves and their wine! The event space looks stunning but we weren't able to get more than just a peek through the windows. Apparently the cabin on the top of the hill is one you can rent! I wish we lived closer- but I know we'll be back next time we're in the area!

The wine tasting was nice. With large parties you are given a flight to try. No need to stand in the tasting room. I liked several of the flavors. After the tasting we took a walk around the grounds taking in all the animals. Because it was winter, we didn't spend a lot of time in the lavender fields. We did however visit the lavender shop. I purchased a lavender honey spot and some delightful lemon crunch lavender ice cream. Overall staff were friendly. I would recommend this business for anyone in the area or visiting massanutten.

They have tasting room called the Purple Wolf Vineyard where you can purchase your portable tastings, wine, beer and slushy flights . I would definitely return again, great place to host a cute birthday event, with your friends. They also have a really nice gift shop as well.

I started researching various wineries and vineyards along the Monticello Wine Trail, because we had stayed at B&B in Charlottesville once a number of years ago. I settled on Afton Mountain Vineyards and I am SO glad we found it. We booked an overnight stay in one of their cabins. The very modern, well-appointed cabins can be rented even on weekdays when the winery itself is not open for tasting hours (we checked in yesterday, on a Wednesday). A sleepover at a winery! What a great thing to add to my summer adventures! The whole property is beautiful; very peaceful and serene. We enjoyed wine we had purchased earlier in the day on the back porch last evening and then coffee this morning. Our checkout time was 11:00 this morning, so we headed to the tasting room then.
