Stayed 3 nights for work in town. So unexpectedly nice of a room. Tile floors, super clean with kitchen. Microwave, Sink, toasters. Keurig coffee and snacks free in office. Provided good travel size Tresemme shampoo, Conditioner and olay body wash. Thick new towels, couch and quiet room. Smells good, awesome manager. We travel alot for work and this is an affordable gem.

Itty Bitty Inn

I loved the Itty Bitty Inn so much!!!…read more This is easily the best motel that I have ever stayed at - or even heard of, for that matter. It is, in fact, so much better than the second-best motel that I don't even know what the second-best motel I've been to is! Not only is the Itty Bitty Inn now a must-stay for me on my next trip up the Oregon Coast, but it is so great that it has dramatically increased the likelihood that I will be driving back up the Coast soon. I'm still shocked that the Lonely Planet guide didn't mention it. Rick (the owner) is the coolest. The first thing that he did was give my friend and I a rundown of Coos Bay hotspots. Then he showed us to our beautifully decorated and upholstered rooms - we had the two Tiki-themed rooms, each of which had too much detail to even be done justice by a picture. He proceeded to then pour us complementary beers and directed us to the outdoor patio for lounging and decompression after our trip. I felt like the King of France! I now absolutely need to stay in every one of the rooms for at least a night (there are 5 total, each with a different theme). This is no trivial feat, as apparently new complete redesigns are always in the planning stages. I can't wait to see the place next time I'm in town!!!

If you're rolling through North Bend this home away from home is a must stop! I honestly don't know…read morewhere to begin. Upon arrival we were welcomed with vibrant exterior colors and beautifully detailed murals, bright flowers, clean grounds, a buzzing neon inn sign and the most friendly hosts we could've asked for. The sign in process was personable, friendly, and easy going. The "lobby" offers gifts, drinks, local nik naks and much more! Rik the owner initially showed us our room which was the terrapin station "Grateful Dead" room. He was kind enough to explain the inns and outs of certain things throughout the room such as the record player and taking off our shoes to maintain the wellness of the space. Once we were settled in he offered us a complimentary locally sourced beverage of our choice. During our stay we genuinely enjoyed every second of it. The bed was cozy, records were turning, and relaxation was at a max! Can't express enough how grateful we are to have stumbled upon this lovely establishment. Peace and love brotha!

Edgewater Inn - Lobby and small pay snack area next to the communal microwave

I have to say this place was better than I had expected. They recently did a makeover in 2022. The…read morelobby is inviting and the rooms and property were clean and welcoming. We enjoyed the 24/7 coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Each room has a small refrigerator and single cup Cuisinart coffee maker in the room. There is a communal microwave in the lobby to heat up food as well as a small pay snack counter for quick bites. They have an indoor pool (which was a little too cool for me, but I do believe it is heated). A small gym with bathrooms and filtered water machine. (Sadly the hot tub is covered up and not available) There are no elevators in this two story property. But it looks like every room has a balcony on the second floor and patio on the first floor on the water view side. They also have a "motel"style wing which the doors are entered through the parking lot. These rooms, I was told were "Pet friendly" rooms and have no carpet on the floors. We were in room 126 on the ground floor. The room was comfortable. Large flat screen TV, comfy sitting chair with a small desk top tray, mini fridge and dresser. Bathroom was stocked with pump shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. Also where the vanity was, there was a small open style closet and shelving which was great! Additionally there was an ironing board and iron and a hair dryer. The lighting situation is terrible. It would be nice if they had a switch to the lights in the room and not have to rely on finding where the switch is on the lamps. And the mattresses were not the best. I was told they were all new mattresses when they did the remodel. Not sure if it was just our room or if all the mattresses in the hotel were like this, but it really was the only big issue I had. I didn't have terrible sleeps but they are worth noting because they are not supportive mattresses at all! I made my reservations with an off site reservastionist and the guy really messed up a lot of information on my reservation. The big one being that there was an elevator. The GM, Amber, was amazing and honored the reservation price and was able to get me a room downstairs and had been a pleasant sight every day since we had arrived. Outside we enjoyed the 2 chairs and small table on our small patio that overlooked the water. Overall I'd give this place a 4.5 star rating. Beds really being my only complaint. The staff became family and were all so friendly! We will be back! Special shout-out to Amber and Chris who really took time to make us feel welcomed and share their local favorites with us.

There were many older, run down looking establishments available, but we wanted something newer and cleaner looking. We prefer wood floors over carpet and this place had a little of both, plus a water view. We also liked that it was recently remodeled. I booked online through their Choice Hoels affiliate. I used our AAA card membership to get a discounted rate. The only time I actually called them was to let them know we were checking in late. The man who answered the phone was friendly and helpful. He put a note on our reservation and let me know they have a front desk person on site 24/7, so late check-in would not be a problem. When we arrived, check-in was smooth. We received a parking pass for our vehicle and room keys that worked on the first try. Our room was on the 2nd floor at the end of the building which I prefer so we have fewer neighbors. I had read in previous reviews how thin the walls are, and they definitely are! We heard our only neighbor coughing until about 10pm. Not too late, and we didn't hear it again until about 5am, but when we did hear it, it was like they were in our room with us. Very thin walls. Our room was very clean and had nice linens. They offered many amenities in the room, including a Cuisinart coffee maker, mini fridge, huge TV, desk, luggage rack, armchair, A/C, soap, shampoo, conditioner and body wash, iron and ironing board, wooden hangers, ice bucket, and more. It worked great for our needs. The only thing I wish was better was the water pressure. A rain shower head is nice for some, but I prefer more pressure than that. I like to make sure I get all the shampoo out of my hair! Overall we had a nice stay and we would definitely consider staying here again in the future. Would recommend.

Bay Bridge Motel - An absolute gorgeous and vintage chair from circa...1972?

I love this hotel!!! Is it dated? Yes but they have started the slow process of of remodeling…read morewhich we all know is very expensive. Our room is large with a fridge and microwave. My bed was so comfortable and I'm use to a heated, waveless waterbed. I slept soundly. The view is killer. Right out on the bay. Every room has a great view and can watch nice sunsets. The grounds are well cared for. I've stayed here one other time and was fortunate to get a reservation. They book up quick. I'll be back because it's a great place and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

You pay for what you get…read more In our situation, booking 3 months in advance for the 2-day 4th of July Holiday when rates will be at a premium. Our Priceline Pre-paid price for 2 nights was $169. Pictures attached pretty much describe our dinky room. 1. Our beautiful view of the bay from the bathroom. Unfortunately the fan didn't work so our exquisite views were horribly limited. 2. A mirror over the sink designed for short people. The mirror is functional as it does reflect just fine. You just have to bend over. 3. A circa... perhaps1972 gorgeous vintage chair most likely refurbished with gorilla tape...perhaps in 1994? I now realize I could have paid a bit more and reserved that luxurious "queen room with sea view" and even gotten a bit more space to walk around the bed. Check-in went smooth. I walked in the small lobby looking for a bell but there is none. Within a minute a dude walked in and gave me an actual metal key. The dude is also the housekeeper and seemed to be out of breath. But he was a nice guy. There was some gagging and coughing from someone next door. Other than that, the main noise was from cars and trucks along highway 101. Thankfully, there were no drunken fights, screams, known drug deals or cops called during our 2-night stay. So why the 2 stars when honestly nothing really went wrong? I suppose I expected a bit more. No...not more like Days Inn or Travel Lodge quality. But a bit more like maybe consider the clientele doesn't value that vintage 1970s taped up chair? The room smell was just...creepy. Like a bad smell where no spray is going to work. Actually, that is why our room doors were open when we arrived LOL. Or maybe consider re-setting the bathroom mirror so anyone over 5'7 doesn't have to bend over? Oh yeah...when you sit on the toilet it reminds me of sitting on my chair in 1st grade. My guess is that this is a vintage toilet from the late 60s. Entertainment: You could probably take a hike up to the top of the McCullough Bridge and watch a ship pass under the bridge or maybe the Coos Bay Railroad swing span bridge that rotates 90 degrees to allow 3 trains-a-week train traffic over the bay. Grub: Hilltop House is nice, but I haven't dinned there since the 80s so take caution. Moms Kitchen is a better bet for breakfast or lunch. Be prepared to wait... If you can't wait, then I suggest the Pancake Mill.
