They were adamant that I check in with Linda and Mark Evans of L Evans Design Group. I did what my friend recommended and I am so glad that I did. I have worked with a number of home improvement contractors over the years but Linda and Mark provided a level of competency and service that is rare within the industry. The experience started with a consultation and over the next several weeks we held multiple meetings to make sure the designs matched my vision for the project - both in terms of design and budget. The six-month project kicked off in January of 2020. Who knew that we would face a pandemic in a few short months? Even with such obstacles, the demolition, build, and finish of the project continued within the timeline and budget promised by Linda and Mark. I can't express how cared for I felt during the process. Every morning I awoke to an email explaining what would unfold during the coming day. Each afternoon the workers cleaned up the work area and left the site secured. Our safety and comfort were of primary importance to Linda and Mark as we made our way through shifting recommendations related to COVID and the myriad of challenges that purchasing products and securing craftspeople during a pandemic required. I do believe that nearly every day of the project Linda or Mark either stopped by personally or checked in with me to make sure work was getting done properly. On the rare occasion that something had not been done perfectly (and I mean perfectly), Linda made sure to get someone to the construction site to make a repair or rebuild. I am not convinced that anyone can assure a project of this scale and scope without a few bumps in the road as construction and design are complicated and require the coordination of many vendors and tradespeople. When things went wrong, they were corrected immediately. When issues arose - Linda addressed them. When plans need to change (often at my request and due to my poor planning) they were made without repercussions. Six months later, I moved back into an amazing kitchen build-out/remodel and build of a new laundry/bath. I have been living in the space for the past six months and Linda and Mark have been by to make sure I am content. Each time with a smile and an eagerness to make sure I am happy with the work done. My new kitchen and laundry room are so impressive. I am thrilled to have chosen Linda and Mark as my designer/builder/contractor. I can't imagine what this project would have been like with anyone else. They are now family friends and I can't wait to start other remodeling projects with them in the future - if for no other reason than to stay connected with two people who have made my home so much nicer. If you are considering a remodel or building project - I can't recommend Linda and Mark of L. Evans Design Group any higher. I offer an unequivocal recommendation with absolutely no hesitation. However, our experience since that time has been very poor. We've had multiple issues with the home including the hot water heater and the garbage disposal going out. Stonebridge homes consistently refuses to participate in any repairs. They also offer a one-year warranty. However, after that point they take no responsibility for anything going wrong, including major appliances like the hot water heater. They also created issues while building the home including putting on the wrong countertop and putting doors on backwards that made travel through the house. Very difficult. Fixing these issues cost quite a bit of money and was added to the cost of our home. Well it's very helpful to have a company that lets do semi-custom homes. The service is very lacking and they need to reconsider their stance on follow through and their honesty with the quality of their homes.

Late Review: We hired Apex to replace our roof, and we…read morewould give them 5 stars for the quality of the roofing work and the installation itself. The crew worked quickly, the craftsmanship appears excellent, and the finished roof looks great. During the roof replacement, however, our newly installed heat pump was damaged by debris falling from the roof. To Apex's credit, Landon took responsibility for the issue and ensured it was replaced with the same model by the same HVAC company that originally installed our system. We appreciated that they made the situation right. Unfortunately, our experience after the installation has been much less positive. Despite multiple attempts to contact Apex, we have never received our warranty information. We initially assumed the delay was related to the heat pump damage and replacement process, but the lack of communication has been frustrating. Our biggest concern is with the financing process. We financed the project through Apex's lending partner, 1st Security Bank of Washington. We recently discovered that the loan was secured by our home, meaning our property was used as collateral. At no point during the financing process did Apex disclose that this would be a secured loan or that our home would be used as collateral. We also did not receive this information from the bank in a clear or transparent manner. While we are very satisfied with the quality of the roof and appreciate that Apex addressed the damage to our heat pump, the lack of transparency surrounding the financing and the ongoing communication issues outweigh those positives. Because of these concerns, we cannot recommend Apex. Honest, upfront communication is just as important as quality workmanship, and unfortunately, that was lacking in our experience.

I have a 100+ year old Portland Bungalow and they took great care of my home only repairing what was needed. Dan really went above and beyond. I had a follow up question which ended up being related to my skylight not my gutter, but Dan came out to ensure the gutters were working properly (they were) and also gave me great advice in addressing my concerns on the skylights. 10 out of 10 would recommend. I wish all home repairs went as smoothly as my interactions with Leaf Drop!

The first job went well and I liked the covers so I asked them to return and add covers to all the gutters. Unfortunately, the second job was given to a young, relatively inexperienced crew who did a very poor job. I had to call the owner back to have their work corrected. He wasn't too happy about my call but he did come out to do the correction. Having had a bad experience with the second crew, I later wrote the owner asking guidance on why the gutters were dripping along the gutter front, worried that it was connected to the poor second job. Gutters are not supposed to drip when they are empty of leaves/clutter. Mine were clean and the drips were significantly large drips. The owner NEVER responded to my questions. He could have responded to me with an answer to calm my fears about this being a normal feature of gutter covers (I have no idea if this is true or not) but he NEVER responded to any emails, calls, texts, etc. even though I gave him plenty of time to respond between tries. I take offense that once he had my money, he dropped caring for my needs/questions. I expect professionalism from companies that I hire. I try to be cordial and fair. I avoid being bombastic or angry. I approach a question with an openness, but when I am totally ignored, I do get angry. Thus, this review that I've been putting off for some time. My advice if you hire this company is to make sure you have an experienced crew do your job, not the owner's son who is learning the trade and who is not teamed up with an experienced crew to guide and correct him at the time of work. Hopefully, you'll be happy with the result and not have to call them back, because you may never see them again!
