Their customer service is amazing. I have been using them for 3 years. When out of town I got a call from the water department that I had a leak and they thought it was the sprinklers. When I called green leaf they had someone right out to shut down the sprinklers. Here is the outstanding service. They looked and my water meter was still spinning so the tech called me right on the spot so I could call a plumber. I cannot recommend Green Leaf strongly enough. I had a leak in my system last year. They sent Joel who was extremely efficient, knowledgeable and pleasant. He found the leak very quickly and devised a by-pass on the spot. Afterwards, he checked my control system to make sure it was working properly. Today,, he came out to look at the alarm signal on my control box and quicly figured out that it was the circuit breaker. He then, made sure that all the valves and sprinklers were functioning properly and explained all of the above to me. Overpriced and unclear procedures, owner upset with reasonable questions, lots of canceled or postponed appointments, workers took breaks together for 15 to 30 minutes. At $255 per hour, $85 per person, that is a very expensive break. Why not alternate and get the job done. They also were deceptive about arrival and departure time, and my house cameras confirmed that the time they arrived and the time they started work did not match by about 30 minutes. Taking two long breaks in a 3 to 4 hour block of time before lunch seemed excessive to me, again at very high prices. I hope that work is good, but if I need updates I will go elsewhere. read more

I am in the NE Portland area. Recently hired Green Leaf for some irrigation system maintenance and fix-up. Not a massive piece of work but they had to fix my control panel wiring, change a few sprinklers, replace tubing. They did very good work. They also were very diligent, good communicators; they also came back for small follow ups within the promised time frame and at no added cost. Curt was a pleasure to work with. They don't charge you for the initial visit to plan the work, and overall price was very competitive, a little below my expectations after taking with other companies (even below their initial quote, which speaks highly of their values and honesty). We closed on our home in early August and were notified the previous owners had not performed the backflow testing as they should have in May of 2018 and we were given a 30 day shut off notice. I contacted Green Leaf and they were able to come out almost immediately - and they also gave me a contact at the water company to talk with about a deferral on shut off given we had just closed. They also sent a reminder about winterizing and handled it without any more work from me. Their pricing is reasonable and the service has been impeccable. 03Oct17 Green Leaf added a valve/zone to our irrigation system and laid 1.5 units of hemlock mulch in our front and back yards. They arrived on time and worked until the job was completed; about 5 hours. They had to dig in our paths to add the new zone and when complete the paths were as they were before the digging. They cleaned up after themselves and were courteous. The price was reasonable and the final price was what was estimated even though they had to use more material than anticipated. We would use them again and would recommend them. read more

We needed our home's sprinkler system replaced, and upgraded. Green Leaf responded to my inquiry the day I contacted them, and got a rep out to see us that week. The assessment was fast and efficient, and the quote for the new system was reasonable. The techs who installed the new system were very attentive to the specific needs of our yard, we're able to work around new landscaping issues such as a paver patio covering up previous sprinkler system equipment. They took the time to show us the drip system emitter controls and explained the flow rate for each, even adding emitters to some plant pots we had assumed were unreachable. When completed, they reseeded the areas of the lawn they had to excavate and refilled in the gravel pathways so their work was unnoticeable. Highly recommend. read more

Working with this company (two guys) was the worst. They were very unreliable, overcharge and were painful to work with. Curt (co-owner) is very unprofessional and lacks communication skills. He'll commit to begin work on a certain day, will no-show and when you're finally able to get ahold of him to re-schedule, expect amusing excuses. Then, he'll show up unannounced and leave without notice (while you're home). Bizarre. Steve (co-owner) on the other hand is personable and helpful. He just needs to lose his partner and will be far more successful. They charge a premium, but lack the expertise or service to warrant their prices. Good luck with any follow up after they've been paid. Also, expect to be billed for things that were never discussed. read more

It was easy to get an appointment with Greenleaf and Dan showed up on time. He quickly located a buried and defective sprinkler head (that I did not know existed) that was flooding water into our neighbor's yard. He fixed several sprinkler heads in the hour that he had for our first appointment. He was extremely knowledgeable about irrigation systems and we learned a lot from his visit. I would like to give this company a 5 star recommendation, but also a 1 star recommendation. Here's the 5 star: We needed the south side of our yard re-graded so rain would flow away from the house. They did an excellent job at a reasonable price!! I truly appreciate that they were willing to do this size of job without trying to convince me to do a huge landscape project. The guys who did the work were great. The work was scheduled and done in a very timely manner. I will definitely use them again this spring when I need more work done. So in regards to the actual work done 5 Stars!! Here's the one star: I got an email saying they would call me at the beginning of the week. That time passed with no phone call, and I had to call them. The response after that was great! Work scheduled and done on time. But the contractor was supposed to come over on the afternoon of the day the work was done, or "maybe the day after," and he never showed up. So I waited around a lot. The next day I put the invoice and check in the mail, and sent them an email. I later got a call from the office, asking if the contractor had shown up. I said "No." but that it was ok, because I was happy with the work. I then immediately got a call from the contractor, who quickly came by, reviewed the work. etc. So I did get responses, just not in the times that were set up. The bottom line is that there seems to be some kind of disconnect between the contractors and dispatchers and their whole communication system. I really really hope they figure it out. I liked them a lot. My yard looks great. read more

Green Leaf did a remodel on our irrigation system last fall. Recently we broke one of the pipes with a shovel. We called and got on the list for repairs, estimated to be two weeks out. A few days later they were at our neighbors house, so we asked them about doing our repairs while they were in the neighborhood. They had the parts they needed and fixed the problem quickly. I would give lower rating if I could... I received an invoice for turning off and winterizing our sprinkler system after being out of town for a number of weeks. I figured I should check the water main just to make sure that something had actually happened before paying the bill. Amazingly -- I was invoiced when they didn't do any work. Once I made a call to them, they showed up and said that my water main was off -- because I turned it off. Terrible service, bad response time and invoicing for work that wasn't done. These are not traits of people I would like to work with in the future. read more
