The bartender, Dawn, is fantastic. The two courses are also great. Food, drinks and newly remodeled Terrapin atmosphere are first rate.

Really yummy! Had a mostly amazing meal here, with a few hiccups that prevented 5 stars. We had a…read moreparty of 9 and a great able by windows overlooking the marsh. Service was friendly except for one thing that I'll get to later. Apps that were loved were the spicy fried shrimp with really spicy slaw- delicious! The brussels sprouts were fantastic, well cooked with a great Parmesan sauce- even the little kids fought over that plate. Calamari was too chewy for my taste. The baked oysters were well liked by those that eat oysters~ I'm not one of them. Fried seafood platter was excellent. And crab cakes got rave reviews. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The green goddess salad could've used more dressing but otherwise was presented beautifully and was very yummy. Hiccups included a wedge salad ordered with balsamic instead of blue cheese came smothered in blue cheese, and a kids filet that was ordered medium and came out way too rare. Service hiccup was trying to tell us it was the lighting and not actually undercooked, but no, it was red and uncuttable. Salad was replaced and meat was re-fired so everything was fine. All in all would recommend, and definitely come back.

Nothing we ordered really stood out. I know it's called the Old Oyster Factory, but we didn't order any. We mainly in because it was on the Island Bucks list. The fried green tomatoes had a good flavor, though the plate looked sparse with only three pieces. A fourth would have made the dish seem more complete. The flounder sandwich was under-seasoned and the "fresh fruit" did not live up to its name. The calamari came as small rings that were kind of chewy rather than crisp. Although not a lump crab crab cake it was mostly crab and had a good flavor. It was served with a scoop of potatoes and broccolini. The broccolini was very limp and had absolutely no flavor. We heard it's a great place to catch the sunset, but based on our meal, we would more than likely not visit again.

There is very limited indoor seating and the outside has a nice twinkle-light atmosphere with live music. There were so many cute dogs that joined their owners! If you've been north of the Broad River, into Port Royal, this reminded me a little of Shell Ring, without the waterfront view. My burger was wet, juicy, and very yummy. We wished we had some dipping aioli for the fries, which we had upgraded to truffle and parm. We both agreed that without this upgrade the fries might have been a bit too bland. The half order is enough for two people. Instead of a soda machine, they have fridges with bottled beverages. I'm very glad they offer Coke products as opposed to Pepsi. Good choice. The food comes wrapped in aluminum in a bag. No plates or trays. We were very pleased with dinner and will be back.

The Good: The Smashburgers are excellent -- cheese, pickles,…read moreand onions all on point. If you haven't been here, stop settling for chain burger joints. This is genuinely one of the best burgers around. The waffle fries deserve a special mention: fresh, nicely done, and you get a generous portion. Think Chick-fil-A fries, but the way they should be. The Truffle Fries are solid too -- just a bit rich for my taste, but that's purely personal preference. I also tried the Sweet & Spicy Chicken -- good and flavorful, though slightly heavy on the batter for me. Still worth a try. A Couple of Suggestions: A lower-carb side option would be a welcome addition -- I asked and it was a hard no. Hopefully Tin and Tallow considers adding some healthier alternatives down the road. Breakfast -- Proceed with Caution: The croissant with egg and cheese was, unfortunately, a miss for me. The egg and cheese were fine, but buttering an already butter-heavy croissant and griddling it turned it into a flat, gooey mess. I hear there's a biscuit option, which might be better -- but personally, I'd love to see an English muffin or bagel on the menu. Something with a little more structure would go a long way. Bottom Line: Come for the burgers and fries -- you won't be disappointed. Just maybe skip the croissant breakfast for now.
