It was a last minute stop on our way back to hotel!it was almost closing time but the best decision and the staff was welcoming! Such delicious food! We had the calamari which was so good! We had the fried plantain stuffed spicy crab. And plantain stuff chicken breast wrapped in bacon and it was so good! My husband ate most of that but he loved it. Such good authentic food! Best stop of the trip so far. The atmosphere was fun and family friendly! They had bongo drums out and a few kids played by them, it was fun to watch. The waitress was so awesome! She gave us all the yummy suggestion and we finished our meal off with tres leche which was the perfect finish to a good meal! Def recommend trying this while in Puerto Rico!
When visiting Puerto Rico, you definitely need to go to the Kioscos in Luquillo. It's a very long row of nearly 60 family-owned businesses selling food, drinks, and souvenirs! Best part is right behind the row of kiosks is the beach! It's so pretty. While walking through, we could smell the Pinchios cooking at Terruño, so we had to get some! We ordered the chicken pinchio and a side of rice and beans! It was very tasty, and we were able to sit and enjoy the ocean view right in front of us.
Came here for a bite. Had the bacalaitos which were crunchy and flavorful. We also had the longanizas which were deep fried and looked like pork chop chunks. Tasted good but not the way I usually like them which is on the grill. Had an octopus salad that had a lot of octopus but not enough olive oil so it just tasted blah. The mojitos were ok. Couldn't understand the $8.00 mojito which was perfectly priced but $6.00 for grapefruit juice with no alcohol..... not cool. The staff was very nice and the place had live music so the ambiance made up for the meal. I will definitely come back and try a different meal.
Visited Luquillo last week and had to leave a review! We stopped here because everyone was so friendly and welcoming, and when we walked in there was a guy playing live (and he was amazing). So the vibes were lively and relaxing. Then we ordered a few things to try among four of us, and we LOVED everything we ordered. Would highly recommend: (1) the tostones filled with spicy crab, (2) bacalaitos, (3) mofongo filled with shrimp, (4) piononitos. I will say, when we asked our server what is the one item we should try, she immediately suggested the Piononitos and she was right. We ate too quickly so didn't take any pictures but I wish we could have eaten here again!
I've been back a few more times and will continue to come back. Terruño has proven to be consistent. Over the weekend we returned with some colleagues after a fun office outing at Las Tinajas in Fajardo. This time I went with the grouper ceviche and my wife the coconut rice with grouper. The ceviche was prepared with some passion fruit which was a nice unique touch. I ordered it with mofongo but I think I would have preferred to get it with tostones so I could place the pieces of fish on the tostones. The coconut rice with grouper was excellent. I'd recommend both. I also recommend the arañitas. The order comes with three big crunchy arañitas than can be cut into smaller pieces and shared. Perfect as an appetizer or a side. I know I should try the other restaurants at the Luquillo Kioskos to compare, but it's hard when this place is so good.
My boyfriend and I stopped by on our way to Las Croabas, and overall we enjoyed our meal. The place was pretty catered to tourists as it is off a big beach in Luquillo, and had many Puerto Rican classics. We shared a fish dish and the chicken mofongo. The fish was okay, but the highlight was the chicken smothered in garlic sauce. I personally found the mofongo to be a little tougher than preferred, but the chicken was so tender and the sauce super flavorful. Everything was pretty pricey, but you did get a large portion. I recommend checking this place out if you are in the area for a beach day!
Beautiful beach front restaurant. Reasonable prices and big portions. My friends and I shared 4 different dishes. We had the crispy rabbit, stuffed plantains with shrimp with steak, spicy crab on plantains, grilled chicken and salad. Friendly service, and quick. We liked all the food and we had leftover.
Came here on a whim and I have to say it's pretty good! The service was amazing! Very friendly and helpful with questions about the menu. They had live music playing which was lovely to hear while eating, creating the perfect ambiance. The food was pretty good, only complaint would be the frozen fries with no salt...
Love this meal so much. The live music was so fun to witness. What a great accompaniment to our fantastic dinner. We had a wonderful server. We loved the appetizer of crab on plantains. Super tasty and I love the sauces. For dinner, we got half a lobster and Mofongo. I love the lobster more. I didn't love the Mofongo as much. It kind of had a pesto taste to it, but that's because we got chimichurri sauce. The lobster was to die for. I love the sauce. We ended the day with Leah, which was really tasty. The most expensive meal we had in Puerto Rico, but by far one of the best. For dinner.
This kiosk is in a great location, right next to Luquillo beach. We wanted to try some Puerto Rican dishes, and this place has plenty to offer. We were seated in pleasant half-outdoor type of area where a performer was playing guitar and other instruments. Drinks/apps: We of course got a pina colada and a mojito, which hit the spot. I did ask for some waters which the waiter forgot about, but we eventually got them. We ordered some fried queso with guava sauce because we were intrigued by the combination. It was very delicious! The flavors go so well together, I would encourage everyone to try it. We also got chicharrones de kan kan, which were crispy, chewy and salty. They came with some mayo-ketchup and plantain fries. Yum! Entrees: for our mains we ordered a fried red snapper and a mofongo stuffed with shrimp. I unfortunately received chicken instead of shrimp. It was still really good, so I didn't end up saying anything. The garlic sauce made the dish so much more flavorful. TL;DR: I enjoyed this restaurant, it had a fun, laid back vibe and the food was good overall! I would recommend trying the fried queso and chicharron apps, they were my favorites.
Tried Terruño today and had a mixed experience overall. We ordered the langosta (lobster) in both medium and small sizes--flavor was good, but it felt a bit overcooked for my taste (7.5/10). Served with fries and the fries were a little cold. On the other hand, the mofongo con camarones en salsa blanca was absolutely delicious--great flavor and perfectly done (9/10). Definitely a highlight. For appetizers, the queso frito with guava sauce was amazing--crispy, flavorful, and the sauce paired really well. We also had the stuffed fried sweet plantain with churrasco, which was another winner. It was well prepared and topped with a creamy white sauce that brought everything together nicely. Drinks were the downside. The sangria wasn't very good, and the mango juice tasted watered down and not natural. I wish I could give a better overall review, but that was my experience today. Hopefully it was just an off day because the food definitely has potential.
Terruño is the best! One of my favorite restaurants in Puerto Rico. I've been four times and each time it has been outstanding. I love their mofongo. Today I tried the coconut rice with fish based on a recommendation from a friend. It was delicious. I highly recommend it. Their mojitos and margaritas are also very good.

A few friends and myself did a day trip to the national rainforest which was nothing short but excellent. Afterwards we were hungry and wanted some good seafood. We did a search and came across Terruño. It was AMAZING. Nice atmosphere, clean bathrooms, and they had a live band playing. I am not sure if it's everyday or just the day that we went. But the band was good! I wanted some fried fish and they had a red snapper option. I ordered that and it was BOMB!!!! Fresh, nicely seasoned and a nice size. I wish I lived closer because I would go there all the time! A must have if you're in that area. read more

Excellent service by Omar. We had so many questions about what was on the menu and he answered all with a smile and offered his own suggestions. After ordering a coconut mojito (very STRONG but very good) We ended up ordering two types of mofongo (lobster and steak) both covered with a very rich creamy garlic sauce. Also ordered the appetizer of sweet plantains covered in creamy garlic sauce w steak and shrimp (as a meal) and their mamposteado (suggested by Omar). They were all very tasty (but VERY RICH in flavor. Maybe too much garlic cream for one table) we couldn't even think about finishing.. we all ate about half of our meal so this is definitely shareable if you like to share. The mamposteado was a 10/10... had me looking for recipes so I can replicate that back in the states. Overall, very good, Oceanside meal, not for the budget conscious$$, with EXCELLENT service. read more
In a sea of Kiosks, all lined on Luquillo beach, it was tough to settle on just one. Me and my friend came in for a really late dinner, and this place had live music playing, so we decided to just take a whim and go inside. To start off we shared an octopus arepa. It was perfectly fried on the outside, with huge fresh chunks of octopus, that was tossed in a citrus cream sauce. It was SO good, I am def coming back to try the conch and crab stuffed one! For my main I was in a seafood mood so I ordered the prawns dish. I actually never tried fresh prawns before so was pretty excited. They taste like a mixture of shrimp and creamy lobster meat. I'm hooked. Portions here are huge! My only minor cons was you can tell it was a tad over cooked, but it delicious nonetheless. I paired my prawns with a raspberry vinaigrette salad, and this special traditional rice they had (forgot the name sorry!) it was yellow rice mixed in with plantains and bacon. This kiosk deserves way more credit. The seafood is so fresh, along with their live music, and over the top service definitely made this meal one of the more memorable ones I had in Puerto Rico. read more
This is one of the all-time best restaurants at Luquillo Beach. We stopped in for dinner and the place was packed--for good reason! Our waiter was incredible. I wish I had his name, but he was a jolly middle-aged man who really took care of us. He was thoughtful, gracious, funny, and sweet. I felt so at home. We ordered a round of Mojitos, all with different tropical fruit flavors, and they were magnificent. The house sangria was also to die for. To eat, I had the Bistec Encebollado, served with rice and beans. I can honestly say it was almost as good as the stuff my dear grandmother used to make! The presentation of the food itself was beautiful and the taste was just amazing. Dessert was equally as enjoyable. This is exactly the kind of experience you're looking to have while on vacation. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. You simply must stop here if you're near Luquillo Beach for dinner. read more

This place has amazing Calamari!! I would definitely recommend this however if you have dietary restrictions, for example, if you are vegan/vegetarian this simply isn't the best spot for you. The fried cheese is also amazing . Definitely try that, this is a vegetarian option. If you do go, I hope that you enjoy!! read more
Boy do I love this place! We had our driver Willo make reservations before we came here because it was Saturday night , and it could get a little crowded. Upon arriving, we were instantly greeted by smiles from all directions. You guys know how I love me some teeth :) They seated us in less than a minute. Our waiter was so attentive. Not all the waiters speak English, but since our friend was from PR, he helped us out to translate. I got the Sangria with Salmon and rice. The salmon was cooked perfectly ! That was by far the best salmon I have eaten in my 23 years of life. The sangria was also refreshing. My friends had Mofongo. The shrimp and pork mofongo was amazing. Everything on our plates was gone in under 30-40 minutes. The resturaunt itself is outdoors, but it's shaded. It has bathrooms, but it used per person. This place is very afforable. They give you a large amount of food for a great price. I was very impressed. The service couldnt have been any better. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly. We stayed for 3 hours just chatting it up with everyone! I would recommend ! read more
This ended up being my last meal in Puerto Rico, and it couldn't have been more perfect. The restaurant itself is one of the cleaner and nicer ones out of all the kiosks, and the prices were fair (less than $10 for appetizers, ~$20 for entrees). Our waitress, Fabiola, was PHENOMENAL! She was super friendly, sweet, and helpful, and explained everything on the menu. She also made sure to check on us every once in a while. There was really nothing else I could have asked for. She also made awesome recommendations that made our bellies extremely happy. As for the food, this place is known for their rabbit (per the locals) so of course we had to try some. We got the fried rabbit chunk appetizer with a side of plantain fries. I was expecting actual cube-ish chunks, but they were just rabbit legs. They were very lean, and kind of tasted like fried chicken. I've had many dishes with plantain during this trip, but this was the first I saw of plantain fries. They were so good I contemplated getting more, but alas I had to save some room for the entree. The fries paired nicely with the ketchup/mayo dip. For our entree, we got the rice with coconut and fish. It was my absolute FAVORITE dish from my entire trip. The sweet, tasty coconut rice had the grouper mixed in, and it was so good, I had to actively remind myself not to inhale my food. Fabiola recommended we get a salty side to balance the sweetness of the coconut, but we wanted more plantains, so we got sweet plantains (perfectly done). My only regret is not coming here earlier during our stay, so we could have tried more things from the menu! read more
Stopped on way back from a day in El Yunque rainforest. If you pick well the kiosks in Luquillo are way better than they appear from the street and a nice local experience. Once you step inside Terruno you'll forget you are in roadside shack. The owner had good taste in art which appeared to be from Puerto Rican artists and was hung like a gallery along the walls. There was also a small stage with a live musician playing guitar that added to the ambiance. The food was pretty good. Favorites from our group were the Coconut Rice and Fish, the grilled Rabbit which they are known for and the huge Langostine prawns. The sides were okay - the fried sweet potatoes were a bit bland and dry. The rice and beans was the best of the sides we had. They served a passion fruit vinaigrette with the salad that was unique and nice fresh complement to the other more rich entrees. The drinks were served in plastic cups which took a little fun out of the pina colada I ordered. I did see someone with a sangria that looked like it was in a wine glass and mojitos in real glasses. Maybe we looked a bit clumsy at our table? The service was great - the waitress made good recommendations. She brought out food for my 8 year old son right away and we didn't even ask her to do it. He was happy to be the first to get his food! After walking down the entire line of Kiosks this one appeared to be one of the best... check it out on the way back from the Luquillo beach or the rainforest. read more
My boyfriend and I stopped at this Luquillo delight after visiting the nearby El Yunque Forest. I initially wanted food that you find along the path down from the waterfalls but due to abnormally terrible service for the island we got back in our car and drove to another stop to find that they only had tacos. After hiking trails and navigating unpredictable rocks you want more than some damn tacos. A local woman recommended that we head down to the Lucille road side restaurant strip. It's was easy to get to and you have your fair share of spots. My boyfriend took the lead and steered us into this place. My was I delighted. The best food I have had since I've been in PR! The drinks are $6 for a very generous portion. The restaurant is open and has a beautiful view of the ocean. I ordered the salmon with the passion fruit sauce and is was tasty. The star of the meal though was their special rice. You must get it. It's yellow rice with chopped sweet plantains, beans, and ham if you want it (I opted for without). OMG I would come back to PR bi monthly for that rice! The boyfriend had The skirt steak and it was amazing too. To top it off the waitstaff was great. Two wen attended to is and they were soooo friendly. Made us feel welcomed and like we were regulars. If this place wasn't so far from San Juan I'd go again before we leave. A MUST visit! read more

Stopped by Terruño after hiking trails in El Yunque. Since we brought our appetites, we began the meal with shrimp arepas and fried calamari which were delicious and so fresh! I had a mojito, which was just ok. It tasted like it was made from a mix and they used lemons instead of limes which, to my taste buds, is a big no-no. For entrees, hubby had shrimp mofongo with garlic sauce--which was good, but not the best on the island, and a little pricey--and I had the rabbit stew, which was tasty, but didn't really remind me of "island food." The tres leches cake for dessert was very good. I just wish they topped it with real whipped cream instead of Reddi Whip. The presentation was nice--except that all drinks were served in plastic cups--and the service was slow but pleasant. All in all, a good choice with clean bathrooms and a nice location on the beach. read more
My favorite restaurant during our visit to rio grande last week! We devoured a LOT of pastelitos, fried cheese, mofongo, etc. during our week in paradise and we LOVED this place. We tried many, many kioskos and this was definitely the best. The service was amazing, our waiter was helpful and funny. We got fried cheese as an app and it came with the most delicious cinnamon sauce (?) sounds weird, but it was absolutely amazing. We started with mojitos, I got a mango and joe got a regular. Tasty and affordable. For my entree I got the sirloin with plantain fries. The steak was cooked perfectly and the plantains were crispy and delicious. Joe got the coconut fish and rice... the waiter turned around for a second and it was pretty much gone (shocking). We never get dessert but I knew it was going to be great so we agreed to the flan. I'm really not even a flan person and I enjoyed this. It had an espresso type sauce on it and it was browned on the top. Another part of our meal gone in seconds. We went on Monday night and there was live jazz which was great. They were energetic and it brought so much extra to the dining experience. After a horrible dinner service at La Parilla, my Bf and I decided to give the Luquillo Kiosks another try. To my delight we found Terruno! I thought the sign read Cerruno at first. Weird logo. Anyway, the waitress spoke perfect English, which wasn't that important to me, but im sure it comes in handy with the tourists. Decor was airy and inviting. Food was very VERY tasty. I ordered some type of fish salad with a side of fries. and my Bf ordered a grilled chicken breast with mofongo. Both were tasty as well. The star of my lunch service was the fried cheese with homemade Guava sauce! I wrote home about it! I loved that all my food tasted fresh and i could tell it was made with love. Next time im near El Yunque or in the area i REALLY want to try this rabbit stew i hear so much about and drink up some 1$ beers! read more

Excellent place in Kioskos! Caribbean fusion food, nice service, live music, location, everything was top notch. I would suggest asking for a table in the patio if you plan to listen to the live music and if possible make a reservation as the wait can be a little bit long during the weekends. Highly recommend the mojitos and the mojitos pitcher if you plan to stay for a while. read more

If you have the time, have a meal here. We waited almost an hour and a half but that was at rush hour!The staff are wonderful and attentive. My vegetable mofongo came out cold so a new one was made immediately. It was really yummy. The ribs were delicious and the rice and beans were average. #20 Kiosco is worth it! read more

If you go to the kiosks, definitely eat here. The staff was friendly and helpful, we sat on the patio with a view of the water and the drinks were very reasonable. Had 7 different dishes and all were very good but the skirt steak, shrimp in garlic sauce mofongo and the grouper with coconut rice were excellent. Finished with the tres Leches cake even though we were full - it was so rich and delicious - didn't mind over eating. read more

Our 2nd kiosk visit. A solid place - worth at least 3.5 stars. Sangria to start which I'm not sure if they made, or was a bottled brand (poster behind the bar). It was good and had a lot of fruit, but it seemed kinda like the tourist choice. I tried the plantain cream soup for an appetizer. It was green and a little watery for being a cream soup, but it was tasty. After a bit it reminded me of asparagus soup. For an entree I was dazzled by the idea of arroz con coco y pescado. It came in an awesome pyramid of rice with little dots of pigeon peas. I thought it was maybe just coconut rice when I get it at first because the fish was so tiny. But I was okay with it not being overly fishy. I could see a fish lover being disappointed though. The star of the show was the tres leches. Cake soaked (more like drowning a delicious death) of 3 milks with chocolate drizzle. I would start a brawl or fisticuffs for a piece. Thoroughly enjoyed the food. The service was pretty good. We had a little issue at the end with our bill that left us scratching our heads, but overall, it was worth the meal. read more

We went here 4 times in five days and every single meal was spectacular. The waiters and staff was extremely welcoming and gave us perfect service for a casual venue. Tonight they had live music. Plenty of locals eating and singing made it lots of fun. A totally authentic Puerto Rican experience. Go here. The grouper filet is awesome and you don't want to miss the dirty rice either. Fried whole red snapper is a specialty. read more

The best restaurant while visiting Puerto Rico! We were in PR for a whole week & this was by far my best culinary experience. Highly recommend this place - the pork (Kan Kan, rabbit stew, appetizers). Must visit! The service was great & the ambiance was superb! read more

Got Grilled chicken with coconut rice and steak with fries. Chicken has NO taste.. Regret getting it. Coconut rice- first time trying it, it was sweet, I wasn't a fan but I can't say if it was good or not, I don't know what it should taste like. Steak- not worth it, barely ate half of it. Again no taste to the food. Fries- are ok. Overall extremely disappointed. read more

This place is great...live music is an added bonus. Really fun with good energy and nice decor. The mofongo was really good and my wife loved her Dorado dish. If you are in the area it is a good choice. read more

Came here for lunch one day during our stay in Luquillo. We sat towards the back of the restaurant in the outdoor/patio section, this was covered. For appetizer we ordered the plantain appetizer with beef and shrimp (I think?). The server recommended this, it was my first time trying anything with plantains. For entree, ordered the crab and rice which was tasty! I preferred this over our appetizer. The staff were attentive and friendly. This was also on the list of popular/recommended kioskos from our hotel. read more

delicious food, excellent service and good atmosphere. So we order for appetizer the steak shrimp with sweet plantain (first appetizer on the menu) it was awesome the sauce was unique. Main dishes were arroz con coco and fish, and biste encebollado with plátanos amazing!!!. Portions are right on point. We ordered piñas coladas and I got a buzzed ( 2 for me to be exact) :). Definitely coming back. read more
My boyfriend and I decided to eat mofongo for dinner, and ran across this place after kayaking in Bio Bay. The restaurant has a nice outdoor seating area. We were greeted by a very friendly waitress who was bilingual. I ordered the lobster mofongo and boyfriend ordered the chicken mofongo. We also ordered a couple of Rum Punch beverages. They were having a special so the Rum Punch drinks were only $4 each, and there were very strong and fruity. Our mofongo was soooo delicious. You are given the option of having the mofongo covered in creamy mushroom garlic sauce or creole red sauce. We chose the creamy mushroom garlic as the waitress hinted that was the better option, and it did not disappoint. My mofongo was covered in a generous amount of lobster meat, and the meal itself wasn't too pricy considering it was lobster meat. I had looked at other places where the shrimp mofongo was pricier. I would definitely come back to this place if I am passing by Fajardo again! read more
