Terry Brennan's Central Tavern finally opened in August 2025 on MA 134 in South Dennis. They are located in the former Sand Dollar space, which underwent extensive renovations. They have a full service bar with seating & TVs, high top table & regular table seating. There is also a small live music performance stage (on some nights) in the front, starring the owner himself on opening night. This neighborhood Irish pub offers pub fare including a selection of sandwiches, burgers, appetizers, salads, soups, chowder, kids menu, and dinner entrees (baked cod, salmon, steak tips, shepherds pie, eggplant parmesan). The full service bar offers 13 draft beers, bottle/can beers, wine, cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks. The pricing seems fair. I stopped by Terry Brennan's Central Tavern over the weekend for a mid-afternoon meal. I was able to seat myself wherever I wanted, picking a regular table. I was given a plastic menu to look at and the server brought over ice water. I ordered the Fried Fish Sandwich with Fries ($13.95 plus tax) and a Bowl of Capt Parker's Clam Chowder ($8.95 plus tax), which came out together by request in about 10 minutes. The amount of food was generous. The sandwich had a hot crisp battered cod with tomato, romaine lettuce, & red onions on a grilled brioche bun. The golden steak fries were very hot, crisp outside, soft inside. The big bowl of chowder was thick & rich which had minced clams, potatoes, onion, cracked pepper in a creamy broth, oyster crackers on the side. I actually dipped some of the fries in the chowder too. After I was done, the server gave me the total on a portable Toast payment reader, no paper receipt given. I did pay cash, so they had to go back a make change. Overall, the food I had was excellent, a fried cod sandwich and thick clam chowder, my favorite pub staples on the Cape.

    Terry entertaining the crowd!

The food is fantastic. I love his Irish stew. They also make great wings and thin crust pizza. The servers are so friendly and the bonus is Terry gets up and sings. It's always a friendly crowd. I have been a few times and I always have a good time! If you don't go you are missing out! Try his Irish stew it's great!

A very fun evening! Terry's voice is amazing and guitar playing is also great with plenty of variety with songs last night. Surprisingly, it wasn't too loud for 6 of us to talk. We all said we'll be back and I'll have Shepherd's Pie again!! Oh yes, service was great too.

Incredibly rude service from the line cook that played security after the st patricks day parade.

What time do they serve food until?

Depends on day of week and construction on street. Best bet is to call in the day of interest until Rt 134 construction is completed.

She was able to convince them to release the special lists for us which had plenty of items to choose from. There was a good selection of things to choose from. We decided on the clam chowder bread bowl, French onion soup, grilled cheese, and onion rings. We asked that everything be delivered at once which it was. The French onion soup was as flavorful as always. A deep rich beef base with plenty of onions, cheese and croutons. Always a favorite of ours here. The chowder bread bowl was large with the top of the bread bowl toasted which was a nice touch. The bread was very fresh and filled to the top with plenty of clams and potatoes and a very creamy rich broth. Bread bowls are a favorite and this didn't disappoint. The best part is tearing the bowl apart so you get that nice flavor of the chowder coming through. The grilled cheese was your standard grill cheese. Nicely grilled with a little crust on the outside and plenty of cheese inside. A large portion of tater tots came with the sandwich and they were fried nicely except they were a little greasy. And plenty of butter was used on the bread to get it nice and toasty. The onion rings could have been fried a little longer and, like the tater tots, were a tad greasy. But the onions were nice and fresh and still had a good crunch to them. All in all the meal was good, service was great, and seating is always comfortable. We'll be going back in the near future.

The portions were very generous and we both left full with food to spare. We started with the onion rings, which came out as a big basket super crispy, well-seasoned, and not greasy at all. My hot lobster roll was loaded with tender lobster and perfectly buttery, and the sweet potato wedge fries were a great match. The clam chowder was thick, flavorful, and packed with clams, absolutely living up to their reputation. My son really enjoyed his fish and chips from the kids' menu -- crunchy on the outside, moist inside, and plenty of fries. Service was excellent from start to finish. The ambiance was casual and lively but not too loud, with a classic pub feel that still felt very family-friendly. The restaurant is quite large with a spacious dining area, so even when it was busy we didn't feel crowded. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and on point the whole time, keeping drinks topped off. Overall, a great, family-friendly spot with delicious Cape Cod seafood and more than enough food for the price. We'll definitely be back if we're ever in town again.

To start, the service was awesome, the waitresses were down to earth but made sure we had everything we needed and then some- including some extra chips to bring home with our unfinished buffalo chicken dip. The place was as the name suggests...snug. But the intimate environment was all the better with the live entertainment! Nothing really beats watching a local artist playing acoustic guitar and singing "You've Got a Friend in Me" over some good eats. I ordered the Cape Cod Rueban which is your typical Rueban toppings but a golden fried filet of haddock, on a toasted brioche bun. I was honestly blown away by this sandwich. All the ingredients were so fresh. Both of us were very satisfied with the quality of the food, the huge portions, and the reasonable bill compared to other establishments in the area. For all this plus 2 drinks, we were looking at $70. If we are ever back this way, we will definitely stop in again to try some new entrees!
