From the outside it looked like a fun atmosphere! We stopped in late from our Chicago trip. I had the Cobb salad and it was delicious and grilled chicken on it was perfect. My husband had the fish tacos and he devoured them and said they were excellent! I highly recommend!! read more

Snowy night. This haven was open. Good beer selection. The Maine dinner, a hazy hoppy IPA. Buffalo chicken sandwich was fine but on the small side. Server never told me about the specials, it was to get water and silverware. All in all, just on ok experience. read more

My wife had broiled cod - a special, with some sort of lobster "crust". It did not sound great, but was actually quite good. The sauteed vegetables were very fresh and properly cooked. I had a burger and fries. No Michelin stars, but the food is good, prices reasonable and reliable. read more

Late day at the beach and not in the mood to cook. Looking for a lighter meal we thought about veggie burgers, but where to go? Last time we went to Red Nun we weren't impressed with service and food but it was close to the beach and we decided to give it a shot. Fantastic bar tender greeted us with a hearty hello as we sat at the bar. Ohhh, make your own burger! Exactly up our alley. I chose the Quinoa burger with avocado,tom,lettuce and sweet Potato fries. Hubby ordered Turkey burger with B,L,T and cheddar and a side of kale salad. We couldn't stop tasting each others meal. My burger was a little spicy but great flavor and hubby's was perfectly cooked. I would come back just for the kale salad it was that good. The bartender, wish I got his name, was very personable, making sure all was good with drinks and meals. We will be coming back. read more

Great beer selection, good food menu and everyone socially spaced out. The bartender who was working the bar and tables on the bar (like us) was very attentive and kept drinks coming. Caution for the folks looking for fried clams: the menu spoke of clams or oysters, however when I ordered the clams, I got the strips instead. read more

If you're looking for a solid appetizer or great burger, Red Nun is always reliable. The Nun Nachos are some of the best nachos I've ever had. The BLAT burger is a favorite as well. If you're looking to be in-and-out, I recommend grabbing a spot at the bar. Much faster service than at a high top or table, and the bartenders are great. read more

My boyfriend and I had a really nice experience here during our trip to Dennis Port a couple weeks ago! We had just driven in and saw that the Red Nun was nearby. It was a rainy evening so it was nice to sit inside and enjoy the live music. We felt a little bit rushed because everything we ordered came out at the same time but the food was really good. I had New England clam chowder and we shared the nachos. I also had a cocktail from the specials menu which was delicious! While we didn't really get to linger for very long, I would definitely come back here. read more

A def Go To every time I'm in Dennis. Good draft list, friendly staff, good food, live music are all good things. Wedge Salad w Steak Tips is killer. Fried Oysters are always cooked to perfection. You get at least a couple dozen w fries. Same as every other business that's remotely decent on the Cape, it will be packed during the normal feeding times. The Nun has become my Sunday home for watching football, having a few drinks and a good lunch. I haven't been to a lot of sports bars on the Cape but most people that come in seem to agree it's the best environment to enjoy your football game in. It's not because of the televisions which are plentiful, it's because of the hospitality and service. Kathy, Marcus, Dennis and the service team at the Nun are excellent people and really care about their customers. They are super friendly and accommodating making sure that every one that enters the facility feels welcome and part of the Nun family. The drinks and food are better than what you will get at any sports bar and the prices are excellent. I would strongly recommend you give the Nun a try. With two locations on the Cape you will find it to be a short drive to a really friendly restaurant. In the category of sports bar/pub it is as good as there is on the Cape. read more

Went in today as a stop for my sister's bachelorette party and the middle aged male bartender was one of rudest people I have ever met. He was talking about us to other patrons about "custom drinks" when we ordered ONE round of drinks on THEIR menu. On our way out the door we each ordered a 3 ingredient shot which he replied "why didn't you order these with your waitress" when we had already cashed out. Wasn't expecting this type of service considering the minimal number of people in the restaurant and the amount of money we had already spent there. read more

A big WOW in the category of PUB GRUB. I have been here many times and it's usually pretty good, today was just fantastic. The new Fall Beers were flowing on tap too. Local brewers and others. Today we ordered their incredible chili made with sirloin steak cooked so tender it falls apart in your mouth. Just the right spices and served "burn your mouth" hot. Topped with red onion and melted cheese. The special was a Chicken Parmesan sandwich in a Brioche roll with sauce and melted cheese. Fries were fresh sliced and fried perfectly. Meal was hot and oh so good! As an appetizer we ordered the homemade onion rings. Sweet onion sliced thick, breaded and fried perfectly. Piping hot. Service was awesome and we will definitely return. read more

Been coming to the Cape for years and never thought to walk in this place until this year. Quit walking or driving by!!! Stop in and have one of the best burgers in town!!! It's a shame I couldn't give this bar a higher rating because the cocktails were delicious and the food seemed great (we only tried the chicken finger basket). We encountered the RUDEST bartender I have ever met. I was with a bachelorette party yesterday, 8 of us total, and we were trying to have a pre-concert cocktail and snacks so we wandered into the Red Nun on a pretty quiet day in the town. The bar wasn't crowded, there was plenty of space for us to sit at the bar but we instead decided to sit at the high top table next to the bar. We took turns going to the bar for our drinks individually and in pairs to get drinks so we wouldn't lose the table. You can imagine all of our shock and surprise when the last group came back and relayed the message the bartender, Ben, said to them... that he was "done running back and forth" and that if we wanted to continue to be served, we would have to all go on one tab. IM SORRY but what sense does that make at all, Ben? We weren't getting served at the table, we were going up to the bar to get our own drinks. Many of us paid in cash. What does it matter if we are on the same tab or not? And I'm not in the food service industry but I'm pretty sure that you'd make more of a tip with separate checks than with one check. Even if there IS an issue with serving us on separate checks, how dare you deny service to paying customers?? Bad for business, Ben. We weren't taking up any extra space at the bar, weren't making the bartender do anything that was outside of his normal job duties, and we were ready spend a good amount of money here. Unfortunately, they lost business and 8 customers for life. The Red Nun should really cut the dead weight-- Ben is going to lose a lot of customers! read more

The online ordering was easy, but when we got our burgers, there was no ketchup provided in the to-go bag. I had looked for ketchup as a choice on the online ordering platform, but since there was none, I assumed they would provide it. No ketchup with both burgers and no ketchup with fries. It was also a surprise that the buns were actually English muffins! The redeeming factor was the that hamburger itself was juicy. read more

This was an excellent experience, I'd say it was a typical sports bar / diner, it exceeded expectations on all fronts. Starter was downright excellent, artichoke & kale dip (taco's)...really marvellous. I followed it with a 'Buddha Bowl' which was quinoa, vegetables, chicken and tahini...good, and a staggeringly large portion (tip, reduce your portion sizes...I was hungry and still couldn't finish it!) Carrot cake 'bomb' was one of the tastiest desserts I've had in ages, I don't think it was homemade...I don't care, it was lovely. All in all, a pleasant and tasty surprise. read more

We don't usually go to restaurants or order out when we visit the Cape (due to years of disappointing / overpriced meals). However, a friend recently recommended the Red Nun, and it's the best food we've had on the Cape in a long, long time. The fire and ice burger is delicious, and we love the pulled pork sandwich, too. We'll definitely return to the Red Nun on our next visit to Dennis. read more

I wasn't a huge fan of the service at Red Nun in Dennis. The waitress was not very attentive and welcoming - hostesses could have been more welcoming as well. It took forever to get a wine list and she didn't return with my glass of wine for a good 10-15 min. The Ahi Tuna Taco special was good - but not great, I wish I got something else. The clam chowder was also kind of cool when it came out. Not a huge fan of the ambiance either, but may try the location in Chatham at some point.... read more

The front of the restaurant makes it appear to be closed, and the entrance in the back seems a bit hidden as well. Waitress was nice although the service was slow though we were the only customers dining, and she never checked in with us on how our food was going. But the food.... I never expected an English muffin for a hamburger bun but it was SO delightful. I am vegan so I got a vegan burger! They actually have many options and you can substitute in their vegan burger onto any of the burgers! It is very strongly spiced in an Indian cuisine type way. What a great find in downtown Dennisport, Ma. ( Cape Cod )! Arrived too early to move into our guest room so my friend and I went searching for a lunch spot and stumbled on this little gem! Not only is the food yummy and reasonably priced, but the atmosphere is cool and very cheery with fun decor and paintings. I had a Reuben and fries - delicious!!! And, my friend had fish and chips and she loved them. We left we smiles and happy tummies! I will definitely be back! read more

Popped in for trivia night and a bite to eat. The crew I was with said their burgers were good. Asked the waitress what had some kick and she responded the "Fire and Ice". I guess the Fire is the ghost pepper and Ice the lettuce? It was an odd combination served on an English muffin. This also seemed a bit bizarre. I've been to the Red Nun a number of times since moving to Dennis Port. They have a great craft beer selection that they update periodically so I can try new things. I've had a couple different burgers, salads, chowder and chili. All have been great. They're only able to do takeout only right now and I seriously miss stopping in for a beer at the bar.
