I'm very grateful for Dr. Song and his crew for running an excellent practice! I was able to schedule an initial exam and x rays within a few days and when I arrived I was promptly seen. My entire visit was less than an hour but for cleanings they informed me I wouldn't be seen for about 6 months. However, Dr. Song gave the okay to squeeze me in on one of his busy Saturdays the following week. I again was seen on time and was finished within the hour. Additionally, one of my teeth had a receding gum issue that made it nearly impossible to eat or drink anything cold on that side of my mouth due to unbearable sensitivity. I had seen two prior dentists in the past that recommended to me only gum grafting which would have set me back around $2000 and the recovery would have been painful. Since I was in school at the time I couldn't afford it, so for almost 6 years I suffered this tooth until the day came where I could afford it, in both time and money. When I told Dr. Song, I figured he would tell me the same thing the prior dentists did but he didn't. Rather, he immediately suggested bonding over the sensitive part of the tooth. I was able to get an appointment two weeks after my initial visit and again, was promptly seen on time. He told me that it would only take 10 minutes and the recovery time is basically only as long as it takes for the lidocaine to wear away. I left the office within 30 minutes of when I came! It's been about 10 hours since my visit and I'm pain free after almost a decade! Best part was that what I paid wasn't even 10% of the gum grafting price. When I asked about professional whitening, Dr. Song was refreshingly honest and told me not to do it given how sensitive my teeth would be and that white strips would give the same results, albeit in a longer amount of time. I appreciated that he didn't try to sell me a service I didn't need, not only when it came to the whitening but the gum grafting too. I have been seeing Terry Song for two years and had good care from him. I called the office today for I needed to change my appointment that was coming up in three weeks in June, and was told the next available appointment is in December. Not good if you can't give a three weeks notice and get another appointment until 6 months later. The only other off thing is the dental assistant was always wanting to polish my teeth before they are cleaned. Never had a dentist office in 50 years that did polishing first. I always wash my car and clay bar it first before polishing. Only makes sense to me. I will now look for a new dentist office. read more

Being a member of Delta Dental I searched their authorized providers and found several in the area. Upon further inquiries on Yelp and Google, I decided to look no further than Access Dental based on the reviews/comments. I should mention, I had visited another dentist in Carson City who had completed a cleaning and x-rays. He shocked me with a large amount of "highly recommended" work and the high, out of pocket expense, associated. I opted for a second opinion, and am very Happy with that decision! Upon my first visit to Access Dental, I found the staff to be very friendly and professional. Dr. Song was friendly and suggested a much more logical treatment of a couple of concerns which were different than the gold digging dentist in Carson City. the first appt i had here was absolutely terrible & i didn't ever wanna come back, especially already being terrified of the dentist. they rushed everything, made a mess all over my face, it was extremely painful just for a cleaning & i floss regularly plus all the staff was so rude from beginning to end. I never thought that i would feel so passionate about writing a yelp review, but this needs to be said. I am feeling so thankful that my community has Dr. Song as a dentist and feeling blessed that he & his office staff helped me to trust the process. From 1973 I have had teeth issues from an accident that left years of issues. All of my front teeth were about ready to fall out of my head - literally. My adult children knew that i feared the possibility of dentures, fear of becoming that person who lives without teeth because they don't fit right, too big, hurt to much...whatever negative could be - I thought or felt it. So scared of the not knowing and then trusting a dentist who wouldn't help or understand, not only with the teeth but with the emotions that would come with whatever work needed to be done. As I talked with my family they were beginning to see my teeth wiggle with every breath or word I spoke. One afternoon my son called and said mom I found this dentist on Yelp who I think you should go see. If you have to get dentures and you don't like them there are other options he offers like something called snap on dentures. Needless to say I went and it was literally life changing. From the first moment i walked in I felt at ease. His staff is absolutely amazing (especially Andrea) and very welcoming. Doctor Song came in after the X-rays and said I would need dentures. He told me what the process would be...explained that it would take some getting use to, but he would help me and he would explain everything as we went through the process. Without the risk of writing a book, I want you to know that Doctor Song is AMAZING. Everything he does within his practice is so professional but he also truly understands that there is a person who has fears and emotions connected to these teeth. He makes the whole process so simple. I want you to know that he was so gentle that even after 3 sets of impressions, I didnt lose any of my front teeth! I recommend anyone and everyone to Dr Song, he is truly phenomenal an artist in his profession and I am so appreciative to have him as my dentist. Dr. Song is a nice guy, a fast worker, I like the people in his office, and he did a great job finding a filling a cavity I had on my front tooth that other dentists didn't do. However, I think he could improve his practice by hiring a dental hygenist who can focus on a thorough cleaning, which would free him to spend his time on what he is better at, namely dental work. Each time I left Dr. Song's office after a cleaning (I saw him twice in one year), I didn't feel like and wasn't sure if I got a thorough cleaning. This is where I don't want a fast worker who is rushing cleaning my teeth. I want a thorough job done. An exam wasn't done to check the depth of the space between my teeth and gums. I recently moved and saw my previous dentist who has a dental hygenist working for her who spent about twice the time cleaning my teeth that Dr. Song did. I've hardly had any cavities in the last twenty years, however this time I had four, two on each side on the back two molars of my bottom teeth (18, 19, 30, and 31). My brushing habits haven't changed, so I'm wondering if it was not getting an adequate cleaning that contributed to this. Perhaps Dr. Song spending more time on cleaning or hiring a dental hygenist who focuses on this would help. read more

This was the worst dental experience I've ever had. Do not go here! I wish there could be a rating for zero stars. The cleaning was so crappy, she hardly did anything. I had to pay for a worthless cleaning, an exam, and full mouth x-rays. The dentist, Terry Song, looked in my mouth for a second then couldn't wait to leave early to go to dinner at the Atlantis buffet with his friend. It was 4:30 on a Friday night and they weren't supposed to close until 6:00. I'm hoping to get my x-rays from them and go to a different dentist. This was a huge waste of money and I want to cry. My husband and I went in Reno the weekend when we had the misfortune for him to chip his tooth while eating breakfast on Saturday. When I say chil, I mean that 1/3 of his tooth was gone! Saturday 1pm looking for a dentist our options were limited and we didn't know the area or anyone who lived there. We came across Access and it was nothing short of amazing. The dental technician greeted us and said she'd ask if the dentist could fit us in but they don't normally do walk ins. Luckily they were able to make it work. The dentist did an amazing job rebuilding the tooth. We were probably there for less than an hour. I don't remember exactly, we were so worried we'd have to wait til Monday and then our weekend would have been ruined. The dentist was thorough and kind, my husband thinks the repair is better than his original tooth. My the dental nurse was calming and made us feel very informed and in control. Doctor Song is good and quick. He tells jokes while he's giving you a root canal. Is there a word for a person who is humble and cocky at the same time. If you talk to him long enough he'll tell you how he designed his office. The good doctor is an immigrant and he's what makes this country great. The man works weekends and he'll pencil you in for an emergency. To him it means he'll have to work harder that day, skip lunch, no big deal. His wife works there too.
