Honestly this place is really good, the inside interior is really cutely decorated and it's so aesthetic and clean in there, there was a good variety of ice cream flavors in there, but when I was there some toppings had ran out, it's decently priced and it in my opinion it wasn't overpriced at all, the lady that was working there was really nice, I would definitely come here again and it's a nice spot to go if your looking for some frozen yogurt. read more

Make sure you look at the toppings BEFORE you get the yogurt. I was Happy that they had California tart and strawberry yogurt flavor however, I did not like that they barely had any toppings. They were not restocked and looked super dirty while the workers were sitting eating their own FroYo or on their phones. the place looked like a little hangout spot for little kids, but I enjoy that they were playing a movie. I come here when I venture out to the beach for a bike-ride... which is the only reason I go to the beach, laying in the sand doing nothing is not my cup of tea. Even though I would have just spent an hour burning off the same amount of calories I will eat, the satisfaction is well worth it. Nothing like recharging with cold, sweet frozen yogurt on a warm day after moderately intense calorie burning. Reminds me a lot of Orange Leaf, which I haven't been to for years since the one near me closed. But, there are some differences... First, in terms of flavors... flavors here rotate. While I think vanilla and chocolate are always out, the others are changing. While it is exciting to be able to experience new flavors, I would prefer to have all the flavors (aside from seasonal) out all the time. I do realize space is limited, therefore I propose having the flavors rotate according to a visible schedule. This way, once you find a flavor you like, you know when it is available. Other Yelpers have mentioned the sample cups... While they are probably available upon request, I was not offered any during any of my visits here. It is worth mentioning that it was the same employee running the store each time. Oh, and as Ashleigh S. has recommended... if you come across the Salted Caramel Pretzel... do not hesitate for one millisecond, GET IT! Toppings are where this place has Orange Leaf beat! There is a tremendous variety of any ice cream topping you can imagine... candy, jimmies, fruit/berry based, I could go on and on. Do be aware, however, that placing gelatin based toppings (jelly beans, gummy somethings) make them extremely hard, and therefore hard to chew through. My concern with the toppings is that the labels are on the handles, and are quite worn. It is oftentimes hard to see what the toppings are. The fact that the labels are small and some are deeper behind the sneeze shield doesn't really help. Employee I've interacted with is quite nice! Location is clean, and bright! read more

Great location, good selection of tasty flavors and toppings. My only complaint is that the day I went in the place was swarming with screaming children. It appears they keep games on hand for customers to play which is a nice touch...however...it was so loud and chaotic in there I couldn't hear myself think and decided to take my yogurt to go and enjoyed it elsewhere. Love this fro yo shop. You'd be hard pressed to find a frozen yogurt shop w a better view than here. Beautiful view of Boston Skyline and stunning sunsets. Perfect place to drop by after a nice walk or bike on the beach. From the looks of it, kids love it too. Although I'm partial to original tart, there are tons of other fun flavors. Tart is prefect! Not icy and overly-sweet like some places I've been to in the area. There's hard ice cream here too. Lots of toppings to choose from. Plenty of board games and kid-friendly movies showing. read more

We've been here several times since moving to Swampscott a few months ago. Each time we've been, the staff have been friendly and helpful. I actually like that they serve the taste sample for you (rather than self-serve for samples). I'm sure it cuts down on waste, over-tasters and clean up. I honestly don't get a previous Yelper's comments about the poor service and his tipping issue. It's fairly common practice at many fast food services (except for the big chains) to have the OPTION to tip. They do, afterall, clean up the toppings bar regularly, provide samples, keep the seating areas clean, etc. If you don't want to tip, don't tip. For those of us who want to, the option is there. As for hard to chew toppings - they do tend to firm up when nestled in that frozen goodness. Gummi candy, chocolate, etc. in *frozen* yogurt is gonna freeze. O-Yo is the only froyo place I've been to that serves the tapioca (is that what they are) balls in a number of flavors. I actually love that they freeze up a little bit in the yogurt. If you're not offended by the option to tip or the physics of what happens with somethings meets a sub-freezing temperature, then I think you're in for a good time! read more

This is the best frozen yogurt I have ever had. EVER. The place is absolutely adorable and the people that work there are some of the friendliest, kindest people I have ever encountered. They make the experience even that much better. The flavors are Always jam-packed with deliciousness. The salted caramel pretzel is seriously one of the best things you will EVER put in your mouth. Perfect place to go in the summer. Right on the beach, refreshing, and yummy flavors! You get to create your own. I normally get a kind of sorbet, and more of a fruity type of girl. They have the audacity to put up tip cups. The problem is this yogurt place is self serve. I should be tipping myself. For those of you who don't know me, I am Superman. I had a negative experience here before. Not so negative that it dissuaded me from coming back, because here I am. Or there I was. But this time, some of my toppings were hard to chew. The yogurt itself is always good, but I have never had bad frozen yogurt. It is pretty hard to screw up. I myself have a tip for Batman and Catwoman. If you individuals really want to be tipped, you should spend more time behind your stations instead of playing around in back or wherever. Delicious creamy original tart. Cute cute open and airy shop. Feels like a oceanside candy store- oh wait it is! They have candy treats and dairy-fresh traditional ice cream from Richardson's Farm. The owners are so sweet and friendly. O-yo really caters to the kids or the kid-in-you. Grab a board game, enjoy your frozen treat, enjoy the gorgeous view, and watch a kiddy flick on the flatscreen. There were a handful of other flavors that I will try on my next few visits. Very happy to see a local business like O-Yo's in Swampscott. Firstly, I don't understand the negative reviews... Maybe because they were just opening? Any who... It was like 90 something degrees last night (after dinner at 7 pm), so we went for a walk to Lynn Shore (its on the Swampscott side) to try out the new froyo place "O-Yo". I was a little apprehensive because I am a diehard hard-chocolate, with fudge, ice cream girl, but I was open minded. I walked in and we were the only ones there at that moment. The guy behind the counter jumped up immediately and ran to bring us sample cups to try anything we wanted. He informed us that it is sold by weight, so we could grab a bowl and combine anything we like for yogurt and toppings-as much or as little. That's good for me because I wanted to try a little of everything. There were so many amazing flavors! The guy must have been laughing to himself because I had a religious awakening with this stuff. I had never tried froyo before, and I was shocked that it could actually taste good, it tasted like ice cream! But better! I wanted to sample everything, but after I tried the triple chocolate fudge, the candy smash (tastes like butterfingers), the birthday cake, and the thick and creamy triple berry Greek yogurt, I knew I had to stop. I would never be able to choose between them. So I put about 4 tablespoons of each tried and went to weigh it. They had so many toppings, lots of fruit, candy, cookies, etc., but the froyo stood on its own, so I chose none. Husband added oreo pieces to his cookies and cream froyo (he also had the triple berry Greek too). So creamy and delicious! We spent $5 plus tip (he really was so helpful) for the both of us. They even zero out the weight of the cup! I don't know if that's expensive for froyo, but being used to ice cream prices, that's a steal. It is a small place with a few tables, a register, a frozen yogurt area with like 9 different options (give or take), and a toppings area. I don't know my froyo, but the machines looked very clean and hi-tech (if I could serve myself gracefully, it's hi-tech). There was a woman out back keeping up with product demand in the machines, and the gentleman guiding customers to enhance their experience. It wasn't dead, people came in while I was embarrassing myself in utter amazement of this stuff-out loud. But I think that people just don't know froyo, people like me, 28 years old, and a diehard ice cream fans. Well, not anymore. Ice cream has too much fat, so I'm switching. I can't wait to try the other flavors! It's gonna be another scortcher tonight, and my sister, friend, and niece are coming down from Haverhill, so I will bring here here to try it too. read more

I was excited to see o-yo open across from King's Beach in Swampscott, walking distance from my house. Its great to see some more business come into the area, and the location is perfect -- pick up a yogurt and sit on a bench looking out at the Bay with Boston skyline in the distance. Well, the location is good and the skyline is where its always been, but the yogurt is pretty second rate. Fairly flavorless, sort of disappears in your mouth, the toppings are largely candy, not fruit or nuts, and the sauces a disappointment. The folks that run it, are nice enough, but they don't make an effort to really connect. Maybe the cultural divide is getting in the way. At any rate, O-yo is no Orange Leaf, I'm sad to say. read more

The employees are very nice, friendly and welcoming. Their frozen yogurt are very good and light. There are a lot of good topping selections but, I wish they have fruity pebbles. I visit o-yo almost twice a week for 4 weeks now and the frozen yogurt flavors has not changed much. Usually when i don't see any flavors I like, I always pick the original tart flavor as my last resort. Luckily, the original flavor tastes good. The interior of the store is clean, bright and I can feel the positive vibe to it. To me, it's worth coming back every other day and eat it either in the store or sit by the beach while enjoying the cool breeze at night. read more

They have more of a variety of toppings than most froyo places, and the froyo taste here is to die for. I've tried most froyo places and I try to keep an open mind when it comes to flavors...that being said it was so so , the flavors are more like Zinga which is better than Orange Leaf. I was scared of using up all the strawberries because the pans were so freaking small. I did like making my own Belgium waffle! That was my only highlight...My daughter was disappointed in the flavor quality and it bothered her stomach she is lactose intolerant. Its hard to find a place with the live cultures that yogurt should have so that it wont bother her sensitive system but it wasn't as bad as Swizzles or Orange Leaf. The pricing was fair like most at 49 cents per ounce. Parking is hard since its only street parking they don't have their own lot, which was a big inconvenience. We've had better flavors and happier tummies. :(( I will drive 15 mins to Stoneham to Yoguee the taste is better and I know the live cultures their wont bother my kids stomach. read more

Poor customer service. Warning make sure you call before you go, online says they are open till 9pm but they close early when they feel like it, so it seems. Has now happened twice to us. This time, my husband called at 8pm to see what time they were really going to be open till before we made the twenty minute drive. The girl said they close at 9pm so in the car we went, arriving at 8:32 with the doors locked and people inside saying they were closed. They left my husband and four other customers outside.
