Came here for the first time because my wife was craving for some andagi. We ordered 1/2 dozen andagis and 1/2 dozen fried mochi. The mochi was very bland and the andagi was delicious, but I wish it was a bit more sweeter. They also sell some yummy looking small to large bentos, but I haven't tried any. Last weekend we ordered bentos from Teruya's and this was my first time trying their food. I got the shrimp tempura roll bento that came with karaage chicken, a piece of croquette, and some side dishes. The roll was so tasty and all the sides accommodated it well. I would definitely order from them again. The guy working in the front when we went to pick up our order was really nice & we were in and out of there in less than 5 minutes. There's street parking right in the front, so not much parking. Not sure if there's more parking around the back. Teruya's has been on my bookmark for a really long time and I am so happy I got to try finally! There is no parking so you have to park on street. My heart was set on the vegetable bento, and my husband had karaage bento. I really enjoyed my bento which consiated of variety of side dishes. My absolutely favorite was tofu patties, which I ended up buying extra on the side. The kataage was bit hard as it was not fresh....it would have been nicer to heat it up. We did not know there was no table but there were 3 stalls with a counter so we ate there quickly. The workers were very nice. I always think to go but I hate the parking situation on Pensacola. But since someone else picked up, I was all for it. Shrimp Roll Bento. Perfect size. Full but not stuffed. Everything tasty. Liked whatever veggie was there with the nasubi. Maybe a hasu-y type texture? Whatever but it was my fave part of the whole bento. My 5th star is in my pocket because everything was so oily. Teruya's stand at the Kaiser HS farmers market is one of the most popular ones, as evidenced by the consistent lines at their booth. With so many foodie choices at the market, you'd be tempted to pass them by, but don't do it! Their bento is so reasonably priced and the sweet potato mochi so delectably crispy and chewy at the same time. I saved the andagi for the next morning and it was still delicious, albeit cold and not as crispy. I only meant to get the andagi and mochi but the colorful bento caught my eye. I ended up getting a shrimp roll bento, which came with the aforesaid roll, potato croquettes, chicken karaage, and side veggies - all for $7. Just couldn't pass up that deal, and I was glad I didn't. After scarfing down two pieces of mochi, I told myself to wait a couple of hours before tackling the bento - but again, couldn't wait. I'm going to bet a ton of us have all driven past this spot on Pensacola many, many times. I know I'm guilty of it. Honestly, I didn't even know it existed! But, the other day, I was frantically looking for a bento shop to pick up bentos for my hubby and I to bring back to my house for my parents who were watching my son. It was 10:30am and all the shops I tried were either closed or didn't open until 11 or 11:30am. But, in true Yelp awesome-fashion, my Yelp suggestions came up with Teruya's Andagi. I was taken aback by the name since I wasn't looking for "andagi" at the moment. Luckily, the Yelp Nation came in clutch with bento photos for the win. We placed our call for four of the bentos and headed over. The pick-up is nice and easy - you don't have to step foot into the small shop, you just wait outside and pay at the door. We found a metered street parking right in front. We had our order in hand in less than 10 minutes. And, well, you can't leave a shop called Teruya's Andagi without, you guessed it, ANDAGI! Very well played, Teruya's! (Plus, it's only a $1!) Bentos were just the right size and filled us up perfectly. And, they were less than $7 each! What a deal! Love this place but the abbreviated hours and limited metered parking makes it a slight challenge to get to Teruya's during the day. Does this stop me from patronizing Teruya's? Certainly not. Our whole family have been fans of their bentos, side dishes, andagi and fried mochi balls (Okinawan jindui, I guess) since they were located upstairs in the old Shirokiya food court next to Macy's Ala Moana location. The veggie bento, chicken karaage and garlic chicken musubi mini bentos are a winner! The eggplant, tofu patties & bitter melon side dishes are also recommended. I give to grab a handful of the warm mochi balls to snack on my way home from Teruya's. The young man who's normally working as the cashier is always friendly and helpful. If there's one thing I would recommend to Teruya's is that once their inventory runs low or runs out they should make more bentos, especially if it's no where close to closing time. On several occasions I visited Teruya's close to 1:00 pm and there was hardly any bentos left on the shelf. The young guy who has rung up all of my prior purchases was not around and women in the kitchen area were not open to making additional bentos even though I bought all that were left and there were 2 people behind me. Please consider making more bentos even if it means that they're made to order up to closing time. read more

Street parking is a pain - I just park at Walgreens and run over - yes not the best thing to do but you're there so fast I've never gotten in trouble. They have two vege bentos. One with bitter Melon and another with seaweed. The rest of the items are the same. Tofu patty (my favorites) gobo, kabocha, sekihan, oh my mouth drools thinking about it. They're andagi to be honest is just ok. Their other bentos are good too. My son likes the garlic chicken roll. Staff is super friendly. Prices are reasonable - 9 bucks for vege, 6 for garlic chicken. Went there a couple of weeks ago at around 12:00 p.m. on Saturday expecting a long line but there were only a couple of people ahead of us. We ordered the regular andagi, sweet potato mochi, and a couple of bentos. The bentos were okay; nothing really special about them. The sweet potato mochi was good but a little too chewy for my taste. We took the regular andagi home and heated it up in the air fryer and it was delicious. Nice and light texture. So even though some of the stuff was okay in my opinion we really went there for the andagi and they deserve a 5 star rating. read more

I only get to eat lunch in town on the weekends so I finally got around to trying Teruya's Andagi after wanting to go for a while. Before coming here I had looked through photos and was set on getting either the vegetable bento or shrimp roll set. On the day I went I was craving meat, so I opted for the shrimp roll set. I also got a sweet potato mochi. The shrimp roll set came with 1 shrimp roll, 2 pieces of chicken, 2 croquettes, and sozai. Everything was so delicious. I was full before finishing up the bento so I didn't try the chicken. The sweet potato mochi was also very good and was not oily which I liked. There aren't too many options here but its enough for a small shop. Next time I am definitely getting the vegetable bento and another sweet potato mochi. read more

As a bonafide Uchinanchu, I can say that the Andagi here is legit! Cute, round, golden fried balls of dough that has a nice crunch. Not too sweet, just right. All it's missing is a heavy dose of fresh orange zest the way my dad used to make 'em. Also delicious here is the vegetarian bento ... about 9 squares filled with all kinds of interesting vegetables and rice. My favorites are the lotus root, gobo, hijiki, kabocha, multi grain rice....oh, heck, all of it is deeeeelucious. The sweet potato mochi are also good, a bit too oily for me personally but I won't turn one down that's for sure.
