I've never had to stop in this podunk city of Barstow when I used to drive a gas powered vehicle. If you have a standard range Tesla like me, you'll need to stop either here or Yermo if you're headed out to Las Vegas or Needles. This charging station isn't too bad. They currently have 16 charging stalls at this location. It's tucked into the corner of the parking lot next to Chili's and the nearby Ayres Hotel. Depending on the time of day, I normally will visit either the nearby Dunkin' or the In-n-Out across the street while I wait for the car to recharge. If you want to do a little shopping while you wait, you can also walk over to the nearby shopping outlets.

Ayer's Hotel, Baskin Robbins, Dunkin' Donuts, El Pollo Loco, Subway, Dennys, Outlet shops.

Located next to the Ayer's Hotel. 16 stalls at this location. Loved that there were lots of places to eat and/or go to the restroom in walking distance. Some places were Baskin Robbins, Dunkin' Donuts, El Pollo Loco, Subway, Dennys and several Outlet shops. Wished all the spaces had overhead cover to provide some shade. There's like 4 stalls that you can pull forward into with cover and the remaining require you to reverse into without shade. Maybe it has to do with the direction of the stall?

Of course, you'll only visit this SC if you need to... This SC is located near a Chilli's (not my fav) and is a long walk over a car bridge to the outlet. I would have preferred that this SC be in the outlet parking lot. I believe there are 4 chargers here.

Tesla charging is behind Chili's. Lots of stalls available.

Good option for Chili's if you're in the mood or Dunkin Donuts. Charging goes up to 360mph which is awesome. About 16 stalls which is plenty.

This one is hard to find, t Must be new as the map isn't updated....

Charged at 240 mph, 50kW, slower than advertised. Walk to Starbucks and In n Out was a reasonable distance.

Free charging, Starbucks, chili's, and outlet center close by. And no dealers invoked with purchase. What could be better?

I love that Tesla provides quick charging stations, in safe, well lit areas, close to food and shopping :)

Last time I took a trip east, this station had some free off peak charging (I want to say 10PM-7AM), does anyone know if that is still the case at this location?

Does this charger allow you to charge to 100%?

Yes, but how much charge you actually get is determined by your Tesla app's settings. Remember, you can prolong your battery life by avoiding extremes of charge levels. It is unwise to ever charge to 100%. Plan to set a maximum of 85%, and try to… Read more

Thanks a lot for all the answers. My first time at this charging station, I didn't pull all the way in to one of these type of aforementioned stalls, and I got scolded by a guy waiting to charge- I couldn't understand why and I still don't know why!?

Hi - There currently is no tandem parking at the supercharger. What you may be referencing are the stalls that require you to pull in nose first instead of the more… Read more

Thanks David for the answer; so you pull in head first, but how does charging work? From what I saw, there wouldn't be a way for two cars, one behind the other, to charge because there is only cord per stall

Exactly. Thus, if you park the wrong way (i.e. backing in) on a space that was meant to be head-in, you essentially take out two charging spots when you use the cord meant for the next stall. Hope that clarifies it

When you first walk in, it can feel a little overwhelming, but there are definitely plenty of options to browse. Most of the snacks were fairly standard, but I did find a few interesting items, such as garlic chips and a variety of vegetable chips. Those stood out as more unique and made the stop feel a bit more worthwhile. Overall, it is a fun place to stop if you are already passing through and want to stretch your legs, browse, or grab a snack, but I wouldn't go out of your way to stop here specifically.

This place is a road trip lover's dream. Beef jerky, Slurpees, sodas, licorice, chocolate covered peanut brittle, every candy and snack you could want. The bags run between $7 and $18 which is on the pricier side but it's a destination stop, not a corner store. We grabbed licorice and the chocolate covered peanut brittle for the drive and I brought home watermelon bites and pineapple rings for the family. There is also a food court style area in the back and I got chicken tenders that they claim are never frozen. I believe it. The chicken tasted genuinely fresh and came with fries and a sweet biscuit that was a nice little surprise. Beyond the food, it is honestly just a fun place to browse. Toys, stuffed animals, t-shirts, magnets. Borderline a kids wonderland. We ended up spending more time inside than expected and did not mind one bit. Highly recommend as a road trip stop.

It is a huge station with plenty of chargers available. Most of these are covered. When we plugged the charge, my brother decided to go to the gas station and get something to drink. There is like a hill to go up on the road and the gas station was right there. We passed the show on Netflix and I was waiting for him. When I noticed that he took a little bit longer than expected, I looked up. I saw him walking from the gas station down, but I did notice that he was walking at a brisk pace. I didn't think much about it. I thought he was just eager to come back to the show. Once he got to the car, he told me what happened. As he was coming out of the convenience of the gas station there was a "harmless homeless" who turned her attention to him the moment he walked out. He said he was walking normally, and he just heard the wheels of the cart behind him. He looked back as she started screaming as if she was possessed at him. When he noticed it was too late to turn around which happened to be what I saw him walking at a brisk pace. He thought that the homeless was gonna let go of the car going down the hill and hit him like a pin at a bowling alley. He was not too far from reality. Once he got in the car, she let go of her shopping cart. In the picture that is her collecting her stuff after the cart crashed, thankfully not at anybody. While in the car he noticed the guy that was behind him at the gas station decided to just climb down the hill instead of walking in front of the homeless. Great charging station just be careful with the homeless be aware of your surroundings. On the bright side, I got a show.
