The entrance is right before the light of the freeway entrance (San Pablo Ave & John Muir Fwy) and right after the Safeway parking lot entrance. To enter sucks, you still have to wait in the freeway/Safeway traffic before you can access the entrance. To exit, I will either have to take the freeway or cross over lanes to U turn. Morning and late afternoon traffic is brutal over here so... Just saw a car pull up from the Safeway direction, so it is possible to enter/exit through the Safeway parking lot. Still not pretty but definitely easier than the street. Everything about this place is the same as any other Electrify charging station... charging speeds, rates, etc. I hope these chargers will be well maintained without out of order stations as often as other locations. Just happy it's finally open with WAY MORE charging stations than that at Lucky. Not sure how long the no wait will last especially since there is no place to park while you wait for the next available charger. That may change once construction is done over here. We will see...

There's a good mix of restaurants, clothing, and jewelry shops, most of which are high quality brands and the mall constantly stays fresh and vibrant although I do wish they had more restrooms outside of the ones below Industrious. Some weekends they have a maker fare or live music, but most of the time the fountain is just central to the comfortable seating area, that during the winter gets some decor for the holidays. All in all, I really do love this area and still find myself coming back year after year.

There was a period of time when I probably shopped at Broadway Plaza 1-2 times PER MONTH (now I'm stuck paying off my credit cards but that's my own fault and a separate issue). What was wrong with the old system? It worked just fine. But now you have to download an app to get out of the parking garage, EVEN IF you were there for less than the three hours of courtesy parking. It's absolutely insane. And even worse, there's NO cell reception in the garage (at least with AT&T) so you can't download the app without returning to the open air mall. Maybe that's why they changed things up? So that for people who haven't been to Broadway Plaza since before the app was rolled out, they might be able to charge for more time? It's unbelievable. And... you have to enter a bunch of personal information. Why do I need to download an app to pay for parking after I've already shopped at the mall, potentially pushing one of the tenants over their percentage rent breakpoint? It's outrageous. I don't mind having the ParkMobile app for parking because it allows me to park on many different cities' streets with little to no hassle. So I'm not anti-parking app. I am anti-Metropolis parking app. At least before, you got a time-stamped ticket so you knew exactly when to leave if you wanted to avoid paying. Now you have to remember to check the precise time you entered the garage, assuming it's even time-stamping accurately. And how do you know precisely where it time-stamps you? Macerich, do better. I know nothing about the area, but I stumbled upon Sole's yelp page and it said that they were offering $20 off to book with Chelsea. I called and without asking, was told the Chelsea was one of the two stylists available during the date and time I requested. Perfect! Guy, who answered the phone was friendly and accommodating and asked a lot of questions about what I wanted to ensure I would have a good experience. It made me feel like they were very professional, and he really talked Chelsea up, saying she was super experienced, but just new to this particular salon, hence the yelp promo. He also gave clear parking instructions on the phone, which I appreciated. The atmosphere was really clean and welcoming, they immediately offered me water or tea. Chelsea was great. I wasn't particular about what exactly I wanted, but she listened and made suggestions and I totally trust her judgement. She was really calculated and took her time with me. I am sure I was her last appointment of the day, but I didn't feel rushed at all. She genuinely wanted to do a great job and I looked and felt great at the end of it. Like I said, I don't live in the area and I only get my hair cut once every two years, but I would still highly recommend this place and Chelsea. So if you do live in the area and need a haircut, give her a try.
