*Update*: I just came here to find a tool to open my cabin air filter. They didn't carry the tool but Doug let me use his personal tool from his tool box! Another customer was able to help me put the air filter in and I met another guy who can order my engine splash guard! Talk about customer service and good people! These people just made my day! I'm so grateful! Original review: Great customer service speaks volumes, and I definitely received exceptional customer service today from Doug. I was in need of two engine splash shields for my car since they were both broken and started scraping the road as I was driving earlier today. A nice gentleman was able to fix them temporarily for me, but I knew that I needed to get these parts so that I could get this issue permanently fixed. After calling the dealership and receiving a ridiculous quote for $234 for just the parts alone, I started to consider other options. I decided to give Monument Car Parts a call to see if they possibly had or could order these parts for me. Doug answered the phone and told me that he didn't carry these parts, but that he would check to see if another place that he knew of did. He told me that unfortunately, they also didn't carry them and that this was something that I would probably have to go to the dealership to get. He told me that I could get some gorilla glue duck tape and temporarily tape the broken pieces back in the meantime. He also told me that I could order the retainer clips with him or online. He even went as far as to give me the style number and brand, and told me that I could actually order these for super cheap on Amazon! Doug really went above and beyond to help me out. While most would have ended the conversation at "No, we don't carry these", he actually did research for me and even told me that I could purchase them online by myself! Sometimes, it ISN'T all about business; sometimes it's just about helping people. Doug really helped me out today and I'm very grateful. What amazing customer service! I came in here last Sunday because I have been wanting to get my 86 dually running again. If you're a female you know how hard it is to get these part shops to help out with figuring out what you need. I wish I knew the guys name but he was doing so much research for me to get all the spark plugs, cables, oil, filter etc for me, he wasn't lazy like most these shops such as O'Rielly. The place is really clean and has a large selection of material with employees who are knowledgeable. i went to get a car battery thinking I needed a new one aince the car hadn't been driven in a year. I bought it and they were going to coach me to replace it and it was a different size than the one I had. in double checking there was a note of an additional complication that the car might reset or need to be reset. they suggested testing the battery and it showed good. so I didn't need the battery after all. Two guys were on the phone one guy was showing another employee something on the computer and I stood there for about 5 minutes waiting around and nobody even said anything. I'd expect a "we'll be right with you" or something and no nothing. Just sat there like I wasn't there and so I left. Just a little customer service goes a long way. And no one had masks on. I have been looking for a part for several weeks. I spent about an hour in the store with a person behind the counter looking for my part. I had to leave, and the person took down my info. He then worked on it for another couple hours and called me with the solution that he had tracked down. I ended up having to go to the dealership, but he did all the leg work for me. Came by tonight with a battery that I bought here almost 2 years ago thinking that it was still under warranty. Cam informed me that I was 4 months past my 18 month warranty and seeing it plain as day on my receipt, was ready to take it like a man. Aw man usually I come here first for all my car needs. I love supporting a local business. I tried returning chains today that were completely unused and new. I bought them about 10 days ago for a trip to Tahoe that was canceled last minute. I was told chains aren't returnable and have a 24 hour return policy lol. 24 hours?! They might as well say "final sale, no return." He said it was on the receipt so I didn't argue it cause I follow rules and that's my fault. But I wish I was aware of it. He also said they "aren't a chains rental place" ugh haha I never said you were... I felt like that wasn't needed to be said... anyways. I felt like I was treated like a kid cause I look young instead of a paying customer that bought $80 chains from them, when kids my age buy literally everything online. I've been using monument for all of the parts for basic maintenance on all of my vehicles for about the last 10 years. I recently went in to one of their competitors for a wheel stud replacement that broke on my truck because it was very close to me and such a simple part. The employees there had almost no knowledge of auto parts and what I needed to get my truck fixed, after getting all of the info from my vehicle they gave me the wrong part two times before I had finally had enough and went to monument for the correct one and an employee that was knowledgeable about my situation. Just ok... it depends who you get when you call or when you go in to the store. Totally hit and miss. Which is worse than just being bad I think but still 3 stars instead of 1 only because there is at least 1 or 2 people here that try. The rest pretty much suck, a couple of them are particularly bad (maybe racist, I couldn't tell if that was the issue). You better come in polite as hell, don't ask too many questions, keep your head down, definitely don't ask more questions if you're unclear after they give there opinion... and you should be fine. Prices are so so. They charge the max amount you are willing to pay. Lol. Like if something is $250 and you don't blink at it, then the price is $250. If you gripe or ask for a lower price than they very well may change the price. I guess that's good but at the same time not. Be prepared to be on hold for a while too. At best this place is mediocre, hence the 3 stars. read more

I couldn't say enough great things about all the monument car parts stores but this one in particular was extreamly helpful. Doug was amazing in helping me with a corroded battery I had in my car and went above and beyond to help figure out the best way to remove it along with the whole staff. As a young women with frequent car problems and limited funds I've always used these guys to help me figure out what I need and my next steps to fixing. I'm easily intimidated by calling or bringing my car places because I do know how to work on car things (basically) but know when I go to places or call I get treated like I don't know anything or over quoted on prices. I've never had this problem with the monument car parts stores and they are super friendly in suggestions and opinions.
