I stayed at the Best Western Plus Tree House in Mount Shasta for three nights in mid-July 2026, and…read moreit was easily one of the nicest, cleanest, and quietest hotels I found in the area. There is a train track nearby, but don't let that deter you from staying here! The hotel does an excellent job insulating the rooms from the sound, and I had no trouble getting a great night's sleep. The beds are super comfortable, too. What really impressed me, though, was the customer service. In my haste to catch my flight--I had to drive all the way back to Medford, Oregon--I accidentally left a couple of items behind. Christine and Ari went above and beyond to make sure my belongings were mailed back to me. I really appreciated the care and effort they put into helping me. This is a hotel that genuinely cares about its guests, and if I'm ever back in the Mount Shasta area, I will absolutely stay here again. It is a little pricier than some of the other hotels in the area, but it's worth it for the cleanliness, comfort, quiet rooms, and excellent service. The location is also really convenient. There's a large grocery store within walking distance, and the movie theater is right across the way. Highly recommended!

Way over priced 300$ a night on a weekday seems a bit steep for what this place offers. Positive- staff is friendly. Beds were comfortable and seemed clean. In close proximity of a burger joint called DRIZZLES. Best burgers ever. They do offer pet friendly rooms. Pool was nice. No judgment, just an fyi, if you are from out of town, just know Shasta is a hippie town with a pinch of strange costume wearing individuals. Probably harmless but just not everyone vibe.

Ambience is nearly non-existent, but it's in a truck stop so what would one expect?! Seriously. Folks don't go to truck stops for ambience or anything bougie. Now the food: I had the Goat Curry, which came with a solid portion of their Basmati rice with caraway seeds cooked into it. It is absolutely outstanding. Rich and slightly greasy the way good curry should be. A very rich brown curry sauce with loads and layers of flavor. Note for persnickety Americans: Goat anything is traditionally a bit greasy, and should be eaten with a bit of caution because there WILL be bits of bone, fat and well cooked gristle. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NORMAL with goat anything. You've been warned fair and square!! There was a generous amount of meat in the 16 ounces of curry, and the flavor was absolutely amazing. There's almost no flour in this curry. Instead they thickened it with well cooked veggies, and the depth/breadth of flavor with layers was glorious.. The heat level, ordered stock standard, was moderate, but if you like seriously hot stuff just ask. Well done for $21.00 out the door. Had I known then what I know now, I would have also ordered some dosa and the chutney. I'll be back every time the company sends me through the area. No, I didn't ding them for the ambience because it in a truck stop.

Unfortunately, our 3 days started with rain, so we couldn't explore nature and have as much adventure as we wanted. Heavy rain, muddy roads, and driving in the fog changed our trip plans. But when our plans changed, we had to stay in the trailer more--and we actually enjoyed it even much more! I was so glad to find this vintage cutie. When I booked it, I knew the interior was vintage, but I didn't realize how special it would feel. Shasta Sugar is from 1961, so you really have to appreciate the vintage charm of it. We never had any issues and didn't smell any gas or gas licking. It was pretty warm inside with the heater. I don't know about summer without AC, but it might be enough with the fans. The profile does say there is no AC. We cooked breakfast and dinner and really enjoyed using the kitchen. We slept well, and I really appreciated the taste of the interior design. I loved all the colors, even the dishes they chose. The vintage blue and red make the place even more special if you have an artsy taste. Surprisingly, the couch that turns into a bed was so comfy to sleep on! Just keep in mind, if your boyfriend is tall and has big shoulders, it might feel a little tight. If you like this trailer, date a shorter man. Everything was so clean and cute. Sitting outside by the apple tree, we never heard the noise from the highway. We enjoyed all the chicken and rooster sounds, especially in the morning--they were adorable! Honestly, hearing the rooster sound is the best first thing when you wake up. The bathroom was clean and warm, with really hot water in the shower. So convenient! Karen was the best host. She cared about our privacy, was really helpful, and always responded quickly. We really appreciated her. I also really recommend the campground if you want to experience the RV lifestyle. Overall, I really recommend this place. You'll have such a unique experience staying in the cutest vintage trailer ever, especially if you have an artsy taste! Thank you Host. lucky to find her.

Booked a pull through, full hookup spot last March. As others have said, the road along the final mile is rough & some traffic noise can be heard throughout the night from I-5 above. No biggie. We had a few issues though. We were unable to drive into our campsite due to trees. We have a 30' trailer pulled by a Ford F-250. Pulling in we almost got stuck. We had to back out to drive the wrong way up a one way lane then back into our space. The spaces are small and parked vehicles added to the navigation challenges. Ultimately we made it in and set up camp for the night. Also our wi-fi password didn't work and there was a billing issue. Our Elks Lodge discount price wasn't applied. We weren't able to purchase any of their farm fresh eggs because we couldn't connect with Karen & Jay. Tried contacting them by text, phone and email on our day of arrival and again the next day. Needed to cancel our July 6th reservation we booked for our return. Finally received an email on July 5th acknowledging our cancellation but there was no mention of correcting the billing issue. So we still need to pursue that. We don't want to disparage a family business. Karen & Jay obviously take pride in their campground. Perhaps they were overwhelmed by the upcoming Holiday or perhaps something came up. We wish them well.
